as i finished watching this movie, i realized something that is common to the people who are smart and bookworm... they are all aloof to average people. they tend to be irritated, schizophrenic, has the "attention span of a fish", and usually are not normal when chit chatting. i really wonder why it has to be like this?

These things happen to them, because they expect people to be like them when they think of things. They are aloof to average people because they find them dumb in comparison to themselves. Because of having too much in their mind they acquire the attention span of a fish. I would rather be an average and live normally, than be like them.

It's difficult to say. But I have read that intellectual genius produces a love of isolation. Most people are highly social, but the brilliant tend to love their own company enormously. They may be social as well; but they have an above average love of their own company. They are introspective; sometimes also introvert. Not always though; but sometimes. Why? It may be that they find an unusual degree of pleasure from their own thought processes. And they tend to be incredibly perceptive and mentally hyper-receptive, with a mind that is subject to lightning swift responses. This can make socialising a challenge for some especially brilliant people; not all; but certainly some. It's not easy being brilliant: yet the brilliant produce extraordinary work in many fields, art, music, philosophy, science, technology.

Well, just to answer your question, it doesn't have to be that way. Although there has been research that links schizophrenia to creative thinking, it's not necessarily an automatic thing. This means that not all creative people are schizophrenic (or else will be plagued by madmen), and to be fair, not all schizophrenic people are as a strange as movies say they are. Some have learned to cope with their mental illness. Oh, and just to reiterate, schizophrenia is a mental disorder that is not acquired by doing something -- it's connected with genetic problems in which the trigger is still unknown. (Some say it's stress but the jury is still out.) So, just to summarize, intelligence does not always lead to madness, and schizophrenia is not something you could catch.

maybe that's because some people in the world are too shrewd and sophisticated to appreaciate a genius's naive and simple thought, while most people are too fatuous to understand his wisdom, besides, people like John Nash will never change himself for anyone,he turns his back to people when they laugh at him.He belongs to another world, just like Van Gogh, who cut off one of his ears because he didn't want to hear others
