If you had taken your time to read the FAQs, and other discussions concering the Discussion Rating System then you would have already been aware of this. MyLot tell us in the FAQs that the value of our star affects our earnings, We should all use the rating system correctly and make sure that our posts deserve to be rated correctly by other users.
Have a read here:

Youless we are told by myLot in the FAQs that the star affects our earnings.
If yours drops to red then you will see the difference.
You are 96/100 which is not top. Top is 100/100.

The star is not related to how many posts we have but to the CONTENT and how other users have rated it.

I don't know for sure but I believe that it has something to do with earnings and the "myth" may be true. Some members already say that a high star means higher rewards for our postings and even though not measured it exactly, I can "feel" like having a little more earnings for the same posts.
Anyway, it's rather a taboo topic in MyLot. The admins actively refuse to tell us anything about their magical proprietary system and get angry when we start making guesses. The only thing for sure is that "MyLot pays based on quality", a rather vague description for an automated earning system.

I believe that it does say in the frequently asked questions that the start rating (or the quality of the discussions and the comments that you leave) does have an effect on the earnings that you are able to realize based on the time that you spend on mylot. However, because of the fact that the earning algorithm is not known to us, there is really not a way of knowing how much our earnings are changed and even if we did, we would not be allowed to discuss that.

Really? Is that a truth? So, if you have 10 star, the blue color, you will earn extra than people who has 9 star, which is red. Can anyone verify that is a truth? I feel like I remain on red forever, and I never see any step forever, or progress for over a year already. What is wrong with my star rating.

Before, I were impressed our earning had nothing to do with the stars.
After reading your whole discussion, I quickly referred to the relevant terms of mylot, I realized that my assumption was wrong.
I appreciate of your discussion which has corrected my mistake and doubts.
