How old are you?

I had the opposite experience, I was purchasing a few lighters, and of course with me being visually impaired, and i"m only 155 cm tall, the cashier asked me "Are you nineteen?" I looked up agast, and she was looking at me sternly, and I said "What?!?!?!" And she repeated her question, and I snapped at her, "I'm 34!". Then she stuttered that "oh, well, take it as a compliment, then", and I snapped back, "But why did you think I was under 19?" and she just rang up my purchase and didn't say anything. Grrr..... Normally I"m not so sensitive like this, in fact if people ask me how old I am I'd just joke that i'm 105 years old and leave it at that

Of course it is always nice to hear you don't look your age. But most people are trained to not tell people how old they really look. If someone looks 40 you might sau Oh you look 25 to me. That way you make the older person feel good.

IMHO, when men ask your ask, they should lower the number to be polite. In most cultures, even asking for the a woman's age is insulting. My 2 cents.

Sigh...these days if someone said that to me, I'd be wondering what they wanted...LOL When I was a teen I was thought to be older than I was, I took advantage of that little mistake...when I was an adult I was thought to be younger, which at the time held no advantage...I was once taking my then 6 year old to the dentist and a patrol car pulled me over, he claimed my driver's license was a fake, called child protection, and the juvenile authorities. Good thing my daughter (who had been napping) woke up and began crying for her 'Mommy'...I've no idea what I would have done in a juvenile detention facility! LOL That poor officer was SO..O..O..O..O..O..O embarrassed!

hi ravisivan evreryone would love to hear this except those which are at 20 or less then 20.lol i am used to quote when something comes regarding it and here i can not stop myself posting a nice quote. YOUTH IS NOT A PHASE OF BODY IT IS A STATE OF MIND.isn't it? i am from india and here there is one actor in bollywood .possibly you know him his name is AMITABH BACCHAN.oh i see your profile just right now.and now nothing remains to tell you.you know even at the age of 68 he is working like the youth of age 28.

If at my age of 34, I asked someone that and he said I was fourteen, I would think that the guy was crazy. I fhe said that 20 years from now that I am 34, I would go totally crazy.

ha ha...no one's going to say I look 20 years younger..that's for sure! If so, if I would look like a high school student :-P I do look younger than my age though. I've been told a couple of times that I don't look like I have a 10 (almost 11 year old) son and I've also been told that I don't look like a mother of two :-) In India, that's definitely a compliment and I accept it graciously :-)

elated, happy, excited, confused. who would not be jumping with joy?

i'm 32 so far people have mistaken me for 25 hahaha must be the lifestyle i lead. i have a great paying job, a cool girlfriend, my band AcidRadio and other hobbies like this. So stress is dissipated.

Hi Ravisivan In my culture ( Puerto Rico) it is common for the woman to look way younger then their age. It is so cute when the younger boys, and say boys as they are barely men, think I am way younger then I am. I have two grown children that many times people who do not know us cannot believe they are mine. Mainly because I did have them at a very, very young age and I do look much younger then I am. Many ask my age and come up with 12 - 15 years younger then I am and I always respond with pick one, it works for me. lol

Of course, i will be elated! Imagine, someone mistaking you for 20 years or so, younger. It will only prove , that i really look younger than my age. That is, if the boy isn't just patronizing me.

Heck, I'm over 40 and people still ask for my ID. I just laugh and tell them thanks. What else can I do? It's really funny because after they find out how old I am they look at me and shake their head. Best Wishes!

Its really have the great feelings when some one guess your age lesser than your age. But it does not happen to me. I always looked much mature than my actual age. People today also say that i am of 40 but i am just 35 years old. Ravisivan please tell me what you do that people guess like that so i could also try & make myself much younger than my age.

Well, personally I am not sure anyone has ever guessed me to be in my late 20's but I have never asked people how old they would have guessed especially when my husband is not around. All I can say, is that if someone would guess me to be younger than 35 which most people guess I would be Happy.

Some people confuses my age too. Right now my real age is 26, but if I ask people around me they often say 18 or 20 or so, very funny when I say they all are wrong. I think it's because my small body texture gives the bad impression, but I'm already used to such wrong estimations, athough I don't hide my age and will happily say it when someone asks. And really it's somewhat annoying that everyone gets confused.

I think that, i will feel the person who is saying I'm younger than my true age, is joking to me..because, from every side you see me, I'm very 0old ...ha..ha..ha. Off course its also a kidding. Be honest although it's bitter is better.

I will feel vey happy then f someone told me I'm 20. But it's opposite foe I look 5 years older tha my age now because of my make up, I always wear make up and i lok mature. My friend told me i look mature. So now, i seldom use make up. :)
