What Are Your Views On So-Called "Offensive" Clothing?

I mean tops - specifically that have writing of some sort on them.
Years ago (to my shame) I had a Hitler T-shirt that had his World Tour listed with England "Cancelled" on it. If my memory serves me I actually bought it on holiday in Spain and wore it at breakfast time in the hotel to upset the Germans. I was young and naive in those days and absolutely no way would I wear something like that now. Amazingly, the T-shirt is still on sale online (but I saw it by accident, I wasn't looking for it) so I thought I'd clarify that point.
Whilst at Mum's recently we travelled on the train to nearby Preston. As we proceeded up the stairs in order to get out of the station a guy walked towards us sporting a T-shirt with the words, "I Only Sleep With Pretty Girls" emblazoned on it. No doubt he was travelling in the opposite direction to Blackpool, which is classed as a "party" Town. Even so, the words did take me aback slightly..plus the fact HE was an ugly b*stard and definitely on the wrong side of 30.
Haha!
As I said to Mum..once he gets drunk he won't CARE who he ends up with..I'm sure of that.
So, have you worn such T-shirts? Did you receive negative comments or laughter when you dared to wear them in public?

I love wearing t-shirts with witty phrases...though I'd never wear anything that can get offensive...my fave is my pink tee which has this phrase emblazoned on the front "listening takes a lot of patience, pretending to listen is an art"

Hi Stranger...I have to laugh when you said the guy was ugly because I always see young guys wearing the No fat girls (circle with a fat girl in it and a line going through her like a no smoking sign) Anyways, the shirt is always sported by a stupid geek type that no doubt is still a virgin and wouldn't know what to do with a girl, fat or skinny, if he had to. Whoever created that shirt however has made a lot of money over the past 10 years. I guess he/she laughs all the way to the bank!

Haha! You're so right..so many geeks wear such T-shirts and really should get a life..although it's true that the creators of such T-shirts are no doubt rich, as you say. I'm amazed the "Hitler" one is still around and it's hardly changed since the 80s.

I have a T-Shirt that says "I Am A Virgin!" lol I wore it once out to the park and got lots of smiles, and smiley men looking at me. Though it has been a couple of years since I worn it last, can't say I can/will wear it again.

I never really liked wearing any kind of shirt that had some writing on it. But I don't really finds some shirts offensive unless it's attacking a race, religion, or gender preferences. I actually like reading shirts.

I had a few "bands" t-shirts, especially ones that appeared at the Donington Rock Festival. I binned them once they got too small as I don't become emotionally attached to clothing (apart from my wedding dress) lol.
Hubby..on the other hand..

I was never a fan of wearing clothes that had sayings on them, but I liked what I saw on others..some were really cute and funny.I was visiting Greenwich Village NY, years and years ago and I bought a button that said Mary Poppins is a junkie. I remember thinking how funny that was..now I think it's more silly-stupid.

I actually remember wanting that Hitler shirt back in the day. I put it down to the naivete of youth, and not really understanding the history properly (still funny though). I don't really take offense at much and can see the humor in almost everything, but I wear a lot of skull shirts and am covered in horror tattoos. It is that combination that has many folks looking at me as though I have done something offensive. I'm actually a decent lad and it's their fault they look at the design and not the man. That may well be the case with a lot of people who wear similar "offensive" articles.

Some of the nicest people I've met have been punks, Goths and bikers. People do judge by appearances don't they and they really shouldn't.
Glad you have a good sense of humour.

I can't help feel uncomfortable about it now but it was a long time ago..and before the wall came down. Things have moved on such a long way since then, I'm pleased to say.

Hm, no. I did once get a pin made, one for me and a friend. We used to work in a stationary store. Mine said "I don't know, ask her" and hers said "I know but I'm not telling". The boss wasn't amused.

I am not easily offended by anything, so I usually point out T-shirts like that to my wife when we are out and we have a good laugh at them. These days, just like you, I would never wear any type of shirt that was offensive in any way to any group of people. About the most offensive shirt I have had is one that says "Mr P eckers Rooster Farm. We have the biggest in town" with a picture of a rooster on it. Now to the innocent mind, that would not be rude at all. But to those who realise that roosters are also known as c0cks and c0ck is another word for pen!s, which p ecker is also, then the statement that "we have the biggest in town" becomes funny!
I still have this shirt, but I never wear it as it was bought when I was a bit heavier and it does not fit that well any more. Actually, now that I think of it, I may have donated it along with all my other larger clothes before we moved?

We do the darnest things when we're young, dont we? Oh Ive worn some silly and offensive ones also. My favorite was a black t-shirt with the word F*CK YOU on the front in GOLD. It would get me looks from older people and I guess thats what I was looking for, to shock them and it worked.
Today, Im older and wiser (I hope) and I dont get offended by other's t-shirts. Some are very funny though and at times I cant help but LOL. Others are worn by young kids who are looking for the same thing I was looking for at that age. We live and learn dont we.
I have a lot of T-shirt now that come from Booze company as I worked for a L*quor store.....and believe it or not......I dont drink at all lol. But once this young guy asked me if Id sell him my Jack Daniels T-shirt, he said he had never seen it in any stores and he was right, it was a special edition. I didnt sell it, I said my nephew wanted it. I might have if he had offered me more money lol.

Well You can't tell a Person to Cover Up that Cheeky back side. When the Low Riders with No Belt are Worn. But it is cute in One Way but maybe to much of a Copy Cat Thing. Low Cut Tops or Fine String Bikini's from Europe are Popular All Over the World. They Cover Less and Less these Days. Well I like a Little Show but maybe Now to much of a Show is Put On

Perhaps you don't believe me,I have never worn T-shirts.I am the type of person that don't care about my appearance much less follow the fashion. And again,I was potbellied for a time ,If I wore that,I surely looked like a dolphin. Here,I have seen some young man wearing T-shirts with dirty words written in English on it . It was simply ridiculous!they knew nothing about it and swaggered through the streets.

What, you mean they didn't know what the words meant? That's hilarious! I know what you mean about wearing a T-shirt if you're overweight as I don't wear them now either!
