Most of us, if not all, are involved with social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. Sometimes, many people share everything about themselves in these sites, like where they live, their school, their workplace, their family, etc. However, don't you think we should be a little limiting about what we share in such sites? Although there are privacy settings we can adjust based on what we want, do you think that would be enough to protect yourself? It is said that even if you delete accounts in such sites, they keep the record. Don't you think one day those records will actually put you, your family, and your friends in danger? How confident are you that your information is protected?

This was my exact issue before. My 13 year old cousin got harassed on Facebook a while back on its chat feature. Although it's partly her fault because she just accepted whoever invited her, but nonetheless, Facebook has to do something about this. They have to up their maintenance to avoide stuff like these to happen.

first of all we should never give out any important information regarding us.theres few reports about people being killed.those social sites will not mind much about our security so we should protect ourselves to bad people.

I don't give out much information online at all, although quite a few people know me. Most don't know where I live exactly or anything about my family unless they go digging. If you know the right places to look, you can find out almost anything about anyone on the internet.

One can never be confident with any online site. It is up to us to assure we do not give out too much. We have to look at it as offline life as well. We do not post our information outside of our doorways for the world to see, as doing so would put us at risk, therefore, I see it the same way online as well too. That we cannot give off too much because there far more looking in, to capture what they can to get whatever it is they contemplate on doing with our information. Therefore, for me no I am not hundred percent secure, therefore I do everything and anything to avoid giving and or issuing way too much.

I share limited information on my facebook account, i'm really picky about the people I accept as friends, therefore I only accept people I really know.. friends and family only, I think that's one of the safest ways to protect your privacy.
