A lot of the topics that show up in this category seem to be about PTC sites or PTP forums like this... writing sites like Associated Content, Triond, Helium. What are some other ways you make money? Either online or out in the world? Do you have an Etsy store? Do you watch your neighbors kids a few hours a week?
I don't. I have an Etsy store but there's nothing in it. I've considered selling baked goods on there but am not sure where to start with something like that. I have a DeviantArt page with a lot of items for sale but in three years no one has purchased a single thing . So I have this and my writing, that's it.

Sounds like online earnings aren't working out too well for you.
Here's what I do; maybe it can help you out? Switch off the computer, go outside into the fresh air & sunshine & start collecting drink containers & scrap metal. Any drinking container sold here fetches a ten cent deposit refund on each can, glass bottle, plastic bottle or cardboard container. Copper prices at the moment fetch $7.50 a kilogram, brass about $4 a kilogram, plastic coated wire about $2.50 a kilogram, aluminium about a dollar a kilogram & even steel at the moment is at twenty cents a kilogram. If you have kerbside collections, council clean-ups or any other opportunity to get a hold of any sort of electrical equipment for free - go for it! People here have been throwing out old computers, monitors, TV's, white goods, etc for ages & in great quantities. What I do is go to the wrecking yards & strip every vehicle there of its wiring. I'm such a skinny bloke, I can only carry about thirty kilograms all over the yard, but that amounts to over two hundred dollars once it's all stripped & prepared. If you can make two hundred dollars every day, get fresh air, sunshine & build muscles into the bargain, you're doing pretty well.

that's pretty well indeed.
my mom sells scrap materials at home whenever we clean up and the junkshops would pay her from $3-40 each time depending on what scraps were sold. we don't have wrecking yards nearby. but i'm pretty sure my mom wouldn't mind going there too if it meant getting $200 a day.

i have tried doing some online work before but only managed to get $90 for several hours work spread over a period of one week. i did some sub-commissioned article writing but that pay even less per article. i only did these 2 to get some sort of experience. i was curious if i could do it.
offline, i engaged in a lot of activities over the years aside from the regular employment...
i used to work as a tutor for various subjects from primary to university level students. i also tutored some children of expats, mostly filipino-chinese and korean. we made home-made candies and sell it off to friends. i did a few food-catering jobs and some computer work on documents, spreadsheets and powerpoint presentations.
for almost 4 years now, i've been doing independent consultancy for microfinance. i get to do seminars/trainings and research projects. it's not often, but it pays well along with some travel perks. i am currently involved with a network marketing company for the past 1.5 years and i earn from direct selling, referrals, purchase rebates and sales subsidy thru the product center i have invested in. earnings from the business mostly get invested back to the business so it can grow.
the little things i do on the side is basically any computer jobs some friends and family need a help in, for which their company pay for. just this morning i got a small project for 12 book covers for training booklets for vietnam. most of the side earnings help pay for my mobile phone unit and vaio netbook plus a few other stuff that i wouldn't buy out of my own pocket.
there are other ways to earn money still. it just depends on our interests.

I also write for associated content. Another way that I make money is by taking online surveys. I usually average about three dollars per twenty minute survey. My favorite survey sites are opinionoutpost and surveyspot. I have been doing surveys with them for years and they always pay me promptly. I dont think ill ever stop since most of the surveys are really fun.

i think a lot of way for us to make money.. and with online like you describe above i think it is more difficult than real business.. why? because many people like instant business like online business without capital.. and certainly real busines give the real result.. may you can sell anything you have, not only thing, you can sell your creativity in real world or cyber world..
summary i think real business more convincing than cyber business but i'm sure that online business convince us to get more money.. :)

~L~ I'm starting to feel like we have a lot in common. I've had a DeviantArt account for years, and never sold a single thing. The only other way (at the moment) that I make money is through InboxDollars, but that takes a while.
I'm supposed to be building a website for a friend, but she hasn't been very responsive so far.
I do investigative work, but I'm getting ready to stop doing that as I feel the work is a complete waste of time and effor ... and way too stressful.
I guess the only other thing I do is write books and short stories. I'm getting ready to publish some, but I haven't quite gotten there yet.
