How busy is too busy?

So lately, I have been bored out of my mind. Even with my part-time business, a few odd jobs, and misc. other things I still don't feel busy. I am thinking of picking up two more jobs on top of schooling I planned on continuing soon.
How busy is too busy, would you say?

Great question, Louie!
I think you are looking for the "feeling of being busy", because you still haven't found a job that fullfils you. I guess right now, with all the obligations you have, you still feel there's so much to do. And you are right. Keep on searching while continuing your schooling!
As for your question "how busy is too busy", I guess that the more jobs we have, the more we tend to achieve. The very word "busy" can be deceitful because I've seen many people "being busy", but not really productive. On the other hand, high achievers are rarely "busy". I'd rather say they are well organized. What do you think ?

As long as you have enough time to think whether you are busy or not, it means you are not too busy!
But with respect to taking additional jobs on top of school, make sure your grades and your performance on your job does not suffer.
I guess it would depend on how much time you have for each task, if you can manage your time well enough then good for you. If not, then you may be too busy already!

Ooohh, I don't think I want to be THAT busy where I can't have time to myself to think. I actually need to be able to have some spare time to think otherwise it probably wouldn't end well for my business!
Yeah, I suppose it all in the end depends on how I schedule my day to day activities, including work.

Yeah. Hey if you can juggle your business with school and 2-3 jobs on the side, with enough time to spare for your rest and recreational needs then why not right?
Its all about knowing your limits and time management.

As long as your grades aren't affected. And as long as you aren't tired you can take any number of jobs.It shouldn't effect your life or school or make you too tired. If you can avoid these difficulties you ought to work at as many jobs without thinking in terms of how busy is too busy?

Yep, everyone can handle different workloads. I suppose the "how busy is too busy" would depend on the given individual.

Busy is too busy, when you don't have time to prettify yourself anymore. When you could hardly do some TV watching, then that's so busy as a bee.
However, don't be a workaholic because you health might deteriorate from not having a quality rest anymore.

When the person doing all the work starts to feel overwhelmed, then the person is "too busy." Personally, I think that different people can handle different amounts of work, and some handle it better than others. You need to find the right work load for you. If you start to feel overwhelmed, then you will know that you are too busy.

actually when we do the things which we like...then we don't find doing it much tiring and we enjoy even if we get busy in it....but if u r doing something that u dont like then u will get tired soon and u will feel that ohhh..i am not getting time to eat, no time to rest etc etc...your complains will never end...but like if u like surfing, then you will bring your food on your computer table and together you will do surfing without any complains

Oh, I enjoy what I do.. I just have the feeling to want to do so much more. I don't like open schedules that much. Too much spare time in my opinion, is never a good thing!

hi LouieQphs I think too busy depends on the person. If you can handle all your jobs, and misc. things and not feel too stressed out then you are okay. but it its interfering with your ability to handle all of it then I would say you need to find the happy medium in all this.I remember in college taking 19 units one quarter and feeling like I was on a perpetual treadmill without time to do anything but study, eat and sleep. When I cut down to 16 units it was so much easier as I had actually some time for recreation and to bathe and relax and listen to music.

I guess too busy is when you can't cope with the amount of stuff. If you don't feel busy then just keep going until you do! I guess each person is different! Today I start the first shift of 11 days in a row which I am not looking forward too but, after the 11 days I have 6 days off in a row which I am really looking forward too!

Yeahhh, that actually sounds like a good strategy. Just adding work on top of work until I get to the point where I feel I am being productive while at the same time, still enjoying life.
11 days in a row of work! Ahhh! I don't know if I would want to be that busy, but six days of absolutely no work to follow up with it sounds pretty nice! I would definitely look forward to that, too!
Not sure why you have to work so hard though, you have the looks to be a model, =)

Thanks! ; ) To be honest, it only worked out like that because I swapped a shift with somebody else so I could make sure I was off for a certain day and so it meant no day off in the middle of a normal two week period! But yea now on day two so only 9 more after today! Lol

I think I am in too busy mode lately. I even had no chance to pay attention to other thing beside my job. Like I already let my white dog turn yellow because I have not bathe him for a month and he will winy looking for attention.
I think its also happen to my family, i usually help my mom to prepare meals but now my mom do it by herself and I know she was tired doing all house work. In mean time I also need money to start my own business. I think they understand that and its why they not complaining.
I think if you not really need the money take some times to enjoy yourself and pay attention to your love one. .

You really must be busy as I have not heard from you in such a long time and or seen you here on myLot is quite a while. Hope your GPT site is going well. Give me a buzz once in a while and let me know that you are still breathing between the many things you are doing.

Yeah, I wouldn't say I am ultra busy right now. I just needed a break from Mylot. Ran out of ideas of discussions to make! It's going alright, it's been kind of slow lately but it still brings in an ok sum of cash.
I am breathing just fine!

See some people are workaholics. They can't spend their time lazily. So they always indulge in jobs. Again some people are money hungry. You need to balance this things with your personal life. Too much work can hamper your personal life and relationships. Also it has a negative impact on health. Enjoying life is the most important thing.

I wouldn't consider myself "money-hungry". I feel I can be a bit of a workaholic at times, though. Sometimes I catch myself up until 2 to 3AM trying to hunt down new clientele for my business.
Yeahhh, all the rest of what you said is definitely true!

It depends on how it is affecting your relationships with other people. As much as I wish I could be busy, I'm glad that I don't really do much and that I have a lot of time to do nothing. But sometimes doing nothing can be a source of solitude too. So it really depends on what you do with your time. Of course, having jobs and making money is always an accomplishment to keep you going in life so you have a lot of choices.

It really depends on the person and how they handle workload and stress. Sometimes being bored can be as bad as over loaded...lol.
For me I was too busy when I was working 7 days a week, 8 hours a day and in school. I had a ton of homework too. I am in an accelerated course and it is tough anyway. I have two girls that I am crazy about and had to take here and there on top of everything else and of course there are the responsibilites of my home...thank goodness my b/f is a huge help where that is concerned.
It is the slow season at my job now..so we are 5 days a week, 8 hours a day..that is more like it..lol..plus school. I can do that pretty comfortably.

If I had your daily routines, I'd consider myself busy. I guess you can say that you're too busy if the pressure of work is already too much for you to handle.

I think when people don't get time for themselves that means that they are very busy and even when someone is completely tired after working that also means that the person is very busy.

Too busy is when you have no time to upkeep your hygiene. LOL!
