Barely Autistic

Hey there! I'm just wondering if anyone else has a child who is barely autistic. My son was dx when he was 2yrs 9months. He is now 8. I say he is barely autistic because his only symptom now is marked difficulty with theory of mind. He is very bright, and has lots of friends. His only other symptom might be mild hypotonia. This doesn't affect his day to day that much. He is in sports which has helped greatly with this. Just wondering if anyone else knows or has a kid who's really only noticable symptom is theory of my trouble. Although he is able to compensate more for this as he gets older from learning from people verbally telling him this face means such and such. Also I have told him that if it is too good or crazy to be true it probably is. They are fibbing. =)

Hi, just wondering though, since you shared that he was diagnosed when he was around 2 years old and that he has a marked difficulty with a "theory of mind". What do you mean by this? It's just that I'm not familiar with that concept, I'm only familiar with the general problems regarding social interaction and empathy. Also, hypotonia, or the loss of muscle tone, is not necessarily indicative of autism, so why do you say so?
