Gourmet-ing up my sandwiches

I'm not sure if many people has thought about this, but I just love to gourmet up my sandwiches. I know that's not exactly proper English, but I hope you all know what I mean, hehe. Most people slap this and that on call it a sandwich and munch, munch. As par with my personality, I get bored with the same old thing over and over again, so here I am making sandwiches with mayonaise or some ranch-type sauce, different veggies, black and white pepper, and whatever herbs I have on hand. Oh, and I like to use two types of cheeses if I have it, too. If I come up with just the right combination, man, talk about a top-class gourmet sandwich! I rarely make the same kind twice, too. As for the black pepper and white pepper, I don't buy the already-ground-up stuff, I purchase the peppercorns and the grind them up that way, much more flavour then.
Hmmm...I didn't mention any meat, either....well, I'd probably use chicken or roast beef that I've cooked myself instead of the processed stuff, but since I'm part-time vegetarian, I'll just stuff the thing full of veggies :-p Tee hee

sounds healthier and fun. spicing up our sandwiches and giving it a few twists every now and then makes the usual sandwich a little bit more special. that is nice!
have you ever tried adding some alfalfa sprouts to any of your sandwich? since i'm not into salads, a friend suggested i try some on sandwiches. i like alfalfa better than arugula.

yeah we get the most nutrients when veggies (especially the greens) are eaten raw.

I like lots of vegetables, both fresh and pickled, in my sandwiches, and I want them on good bread. I know you make yours at home. One of my favorite things is to use red bell pepper strips in in the winter. You cannot get decent tomatoes then, so the pepper strips are good. They provide a boost of vitamin C and some crunch as well. I like whole grain breads. I know you make your own. Specialty mustards are good as well.

Because it is just my boyfriend and I at home we tend to call a sandwich a meal sometimes, so we definitely beef our up with lots of veggies. We will put just about anything in a sandwich that is meant for salads.
We do enjoy lots of onions and bell peppers and no matter how many times the tummy a bit later squeaks we refuse to give it up.

Hmm....salad sandwiches......with salad dressing in place of the mayonaise, now that sounds like a lovely idea, in all honesty! :-D Gotta have lots of cheese on it, though :-p

I like to do this too. Sometimes I have made recipes of gourmets sandwiches. I think food is to have fun with it. I don't like to eat the same thing all the time. I do the same with the food I cook every day. I like to invent new stuff. My husband love to eat my food. I love the chicken because there thousands of ways to cook it. We only need to use our imagination.
