Personally I'm stuck in the 80's when it comes to music.. also the 90's as it wasn't too bad. I cannot stand todays music, it's all complete rubbish to my ears :/ How about you? Do you like or dislike todays music?

I don't dislike today's music. In fact there are really good songs that was recently released. But I guess the best music era for me is the 80's. Most of the 90's songs are also great but 80's songs are the best for me.

You're right, there are some recent songs that are pretty good, but it seems rare. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that most artists today act like puppets and look like clowns and aren't themselves at all. Back in the 80's.. it was whoever you wanted to be.. that's what I love about it :) and it shone through the music as well.

I once thought the 80's was my decade for good music but.. looking back , the 90's had some good songs too. Now I like them both Way more than the music of today.

I think most people seem to get stuck in whatever style was popular when they were in high school. I have never done that. Instead, I like music from every era--so long as it's not boring! I have extremely eclectic tastes in everything, but especially music. I feel happiest most of the time when I'm listening to "newage" pieces, though. And no, "newage" is NOT a typo. It's the way the vocal half of Penn & Teller pronounces the term, because they do not buy into the whole "new age" philosophy. Neither do I. But most of the music is beautiful! I like the blues and Christian worship (and some rock) music, but if I had to choose an era, it would have to be the 50's to 60's! I just love the Oldies, as a musician (guitarist and singer) I just think they're so great. I love the vocalization and the a capella elements and the nice instrumentation with REAL instruments!! :) I've always loved Oldies music, ever since I was a little kid! :D

I also consider the music of 80's and 90's more beautiful than the music of today. I cannot mention all meaningful musicians, for example, of 80's like Depeche Mode, A-HA, Madonna, Fleetwood Mac, Europe, Kim Wild, Nick Kershaw, The Bangles, and others..

I was born in the really late 70's so I grew up with 80s and 90s music. I love the songs back then, they were all so simple and the lyrics have more meaning to them. I also like the 60s and 70s, good ol' rock and roll... While the songs of today are okay, I guess my main beef is that there are a lot of people who pretend to be singers (I can't even call them artists). They rely on technology like auto-tune to make their voice sound good. There are only a handful of singers who write their own songs nowadays, unlike before when artists were able to churn in beautiful music on their own. I miss those days.

hello there dracs wolfy! i still prefer those songs of 80's and 90's. i just feel the way the writer and the singer of the song to their lyrics and melody. eventhough, sometimes i hear songs that aren't familiar to my ears, but the melody and rhythm of the song it soothes me. its because the solemn and peaceful way of every instrument they used just to satisfy every ear. today's music is quite good in the extent that they know how to invent the different instruments but sometimes its just a noise that they create. yeah, you can dance with their beat but unlike the old music that their simplicity is there but they still can rock you. now musics, is in the verge of liberation not just their song but equipped with their music videos. it can also make me sad but that the reality and we need to deal with it, whether we like it or not. just a simple advice, whatever your music you will like, as long that it satisfy your heart and soul, play it! :)

Hi, DracsWolfy I agree with as you said "todays music, it's all complete rubbish" but with an exception of R&B music. I love those soft, slow melodic, heart felting songs, with meanings and pertains to love. I don't see the point of today's music which are exotic and harmful to our community, all those words that come up with it, are totally non-sense.
