Have you heard of group buying sites?

Recently, there's a fad called group buying wherein there are sites that offer huge discounts on the products and services of their partner companies. I've been seeing a lot like Groupon and Deal Grocer, and here in our country Ensogo, Metro Deal, etc. The offers they give everyday are really really enticing, but I've also heard of horror stories wherein those who availed of the deal didn't get what they paid for.
How about you, have you ever experienced availing of an offer in a group buying site? Any experiences to share?

Yes, I have heard of group deals or groupons. Actually, I am a member of ensogo, deal grocer and cashcashpinoy. Of the 3, I have only used ensogo. I have bought several deals already and I was able to avail of 2 deals in the past 2 months. What I usually buy are restaurant buffet deals and salon deals. Of course there are dangers in buying these deals because they sometimes make it appear that you are getting the items cheaper but in fact these deals are already existing online deals even before they posted it on the groupon sites. However, in the 2 deals that I have already used, I am very happy with the outcome. The thing is, you have to research online if you are really getting a good deal. I think the restaurant deals are really good because people ere generally familiar of the real cost of the deals. For example, I was able to buy Sofitel's Spiral Restaurant buffet at half the price. Of course, I know the real price of their buffet so, I am sure I am getting a good deal. I was also able to buy hair treatment at 70 percent off. It was really a good deal at 250 pesos since most keratin hair treatments cost about 1,000 pesos. So, yeah, you could get really good deals on groupon sites but it helps to research a bit to make sure that you really are getting the discounts.

There are many websites like groupons here. I like to check their new offers everyday. I have purchased from these websites many times and I love it. I don't like buying the meal in the restaurant because I have to make an appointment a few days before. It is not so convenient. And sometimes the meal is not so worthy in my opinion.

Hi Moonchild! Yes I availed of some group coupons recently. I think it is becoming popular in our country. It is my first time to do so, since a co-worker has a friend who works at Groupon and we availed of the discount vouchers for Crocs. I haven't used them yet but I will use them before they expire. If in case we'll have problems, at least we know who to get in touch with. So far,there are nice feedbacks from my colleagues. A couple of them had availed of the discount coupons and are very much happy with them. I never heard of problems in fact they are encouraging us to see the offers.
I really like some of the offers however, I think it is enticing us to spend more by the savings they give. I hope I don't get addicted to them.
