How to block unwanted messages in mobile phone?

I often receive unwanted messages like ‘you have won a lottery’ or ‘don’t ignore hair loss’ and so on in my mobile phone. How can I block the incoming of such unwanted messages which causes nothing but unnecessary disturbances to me? Can you help?

there are customer service number for each service provider..like for airtel it is 121...you can call this number and ask for the solution of your problem...if there is solution to your problem in the computerized settings then you can go for it or else you can talk to the customer care executive...who will save 'do not disturb' facility for your number..hope this helps...
