You hear people say prayer changes things and some people may agree some may not agree base on events that happen in there lives but to me in my opinion. I believe prayer changes things because in my life time I have the worries that have proof.
When I was younger I had problems with some kid in school when I was in middle school I pray and ask God to remove in from my life because I got tired of the ignorance and the disrespect. He loved to start problems with everyone. And so.. I pray and now he moved hundreds miles away in some state. And it happen fast to me haha..
My boss right now @ my current job she gave me a hard time all the time and I pray and pray and God even gave me a word from the bible. Right now my manager is gone and she is out not sure when she will come back but she is gone. They say she is sick and I don't wish bad on anyone I wish them the best and if I know things wont change because of the person in them then .. I ask them to be removed from my life.
These are just two stories and there are stories from me family friends and eg that have proof that prayer changes things..
So that's why I ask do you believe prayer changes things.. . ?? And why?

I don't believe that praying to a higher power for anything helps matters. Why sit around talking to yourself when you can get up and do something about it. Even if someone is sick there's always something you can do to make them feel better. And if they're terminally ill, well that's beyond prayer, isn't it?

Hey youaremylush, I respect your words and what you say. :) I just believe prayer is a powerful thing.
Hey masang, couldn't say it any better both action and prayer should be done but in situations where no action can be done prayer is in action having faith is powerful... Faith is believing in something that will happen but you can't see it. Sometimes God doesnt have to show us what's going on behind the blades..

Individual prayer can bring comfort whether one truly believes one will receive an answer or not. Group prayer also brings comfort, but in a much stronger way. This comfort alone can have a healing affect on people. Our bodies have great healing powers within and when we are calm and happy certain hormones are released. When we are comforted through prayer these hormones can be released and we can be healed even if our beliefs are not strong.

Hey adonaih..
The power of prayer is a very powerful ing even though some may disagree but with prayer it brings the things that are aren't seen and we want to happen happen. We as people God gave us the knowledge to come into agreement in prayer and in the bible it says when 2 or more agree it shall happen. And that I believe.. In it

Yes I do believe in prayers and I rely on it. I have this certain prayer that I pray everynight, continously until i give in to sleep. But what I did first was to write the list of the people I want to pray with, the list of things I want to happen, the list of support and guidance I want to have, my sins and protection. Anything, everything on my prayer are written in my prayer notebook and I pray every night. I even set an alarm to it.
I know pray works, however not all prayers I have come as I expected. There are some in the process and I am feeling it. I have a good vibes on it. I pray to God to give my sister a job and she got a job. I prayed to God to make the case of my bestfriend to be dismissed because she is not guilty of it, and now there is a resolution for dismissal of case. I prayed to God that my father's eyes will get treated because it has a cataract. Just this May he had a lazer surgery. Those three prayers are prayers that happened. There are still more and many more on the process. God might answer some in different form that i will just realize after. I do believe in prayers and it is something I hold on to during tough times.

Praying can result to inner tranquility and peace of mind, and the best way to have a positive result is to act on it. I believe in the power of prayer and therefore believe in miracles, in line with this, I believe in God's presence and man's power to deliver through His guidance and sovereignty. Prayer changes things.

Hi payout, I don't believe that prayer changes things. No offence.
However, i personally feel that we should depend on ourselves and everything that happen to us, every consequence is because of what we had done. Things don't happen just because we pray. I believe in ourselves and that we control whatever the outcome is. Of course, not mentioning disasters etc.
If prayers were to change thing, then i would pray that there will be no disasters in the world and that everyone will be able to enjoy life. There would be no poor people begging on the streets if prayers would change thing.
My views differ from your, but i do respect your views on it :)

I agree with you. I believe in prayer as a communication but I don't think it can help when something is already done and over.
I believe that we should not always rely on prayer but on our abilities. Of course, prayer would be a great support system but I can't imagine myself prayer all day and doing nothing else.
In a sense, prayers are like wishes. You can pray but it doesn't have a guarantee that everything will turn out fine and in an individual's favor. All faith and no good work will not amount into anything, in my opinion. As a saying in country goes, 'Lord have mercy but the man does the labor.'.
I believe in prayer but I don't put all my eggs in that basket.

I believe in the power of prayer and it must be first felt inside of us.If we make a phone call continuously and ringing for a long time and we're wondering if maybe we should just hang up and try again another time. Then a voice answers and simply says, "I'm here. I'm listening to you." Communication has been established!.
The power of prayer is the constant renewal of perspective. Prayer opens our eyes. It extends our horizons. It sheds light into the darkness of our fears and our sorrows, our hopes and joys, our shame and our pride. It gives us new ways of seeing life and relationships, of understanding work and the cost of growing.I don't believe that our prayer changes God's mind or improves God's disposition. God will do what God will do.

I don't believe that God listens to my prayers! If he did my boss would be long gone! He is still around and there is no sign of him leaving! My confidence still sucks and I have prayed for that to be better! God has not helped! I feel he is ignoring me or hates me. Right now I am not trusting him! If he is so pwerful and mighty why does he take all the good people and leave the bad on Earth? Anwser me that?

Hey Payout,I believe prayer changes things, but you certainly have a GREAT relationship with the MASTER because you get results often!!! On a more seriouse note, I really do believe that prayer makes a difference, when you take the time to pray about a situation instead of reacting you give yourself a chance to calm down, think about the matter and make a decision to let it go. Eventually if it is someone trying to cause your demise the situation usually would turn right back on them or something worse happens to them. Pray for me that I get the quick response that you get and then I will really confirm your question ;-)

Hi payout i donot believe prayer can change things. But i strongly believe prayer definitely brings peace to your mind & make your mind full of positive feelings.Whatever incidents you have mentioned are not due to your prayers it was just due to their fate.I think to say that your prayer changed thier lives will be wrong as you can't do that.
I daily pray GOD early in the morning but it never cahnged things for me but always made me more stronger to fight against daily problems which i face.

You know I believe prayers changes things. I strongly believe in god. But on the other hand if you might have read all those books on "how to live life" n all, in such type of books it is mentioned that most powerful network in this world is our mind. Whatever thoughts are there in our mind all that thoughts are transmitted in environment surrounding us and whatever we are thinking about again and again and repeatedly with a strong feeling it happens. In similar manner like how these transmission tower works. Like transmission tower are working on electric waves in similar manner according to these books our mind is strong means of transmitting waves in environment even stronger than these transmission line towers. So this is the way how it works. But can't say exactly it happens like this. Because I myself believe in god and prayers.

i really do believe that prayers work.i have had a lot of strong instances that made me a believer in prayers as i am today.but i also think it depends on how strong mindedly you pray.i have had so many experiences in my life that i thought i would never be able to get through with my own abilities and so many things that have happened to me that made me feel like theres no way to get out of the rotten bad loney helpless situation i am in.i wasnt always a believer.i stilll dont call myself a strong one...but i would never deny the fact that whenever i have prayed with all my heart mind and soul i have always found a way to get out of the most impossible situations and get what i prayed for.even through the most deepest and drkest situation there was always a miraculous light shown to me at the end of the dark tunnel.and all these instancees have given me some sort of confidence that no matter what i could alwasy find a solution or a way to deal with the best and the worst.even if there have been times when my prayers havent worked in making whatever i prayed for happen, it has still given me whatever strength i needed to build inside me mentally and physically to get through the worst days and nights.so i defintely believe that my prayers have changed a lot many things for me in my life and i am so thankful to the god who keeps being there for me constantly listening and seeing and feeling whatever i go through and helps me in my roubled times more than anybody.

Its Like Believing Ghosts,If We Believe,We Will Be Afraid Of It And If We Don't,We Can Move Anywhere Easily...
So If Someone Believes That Prayers Can Help Them To Solve Their Problems Or To Get Whatever They Want Then It Will Else It Wouldn't...
Actually Prayers Are Nothing Other Than Believing,If We Have Faith In Ourselves That We Can Handle This Situation Then We Will Do That,May Be It Wouldn't Be That Much Correct But It Will Be Satisfactory For Us That At Least We Tried It...

Hi Payout
I am a firm believer in the power of prayer. I routinely pray daily and as needed through out the day. It gives me a lot of positivity in my life. There fore, for me it surely is great comfort. I can't say life changes with my prayers but my positive thinking certainly changes any negativity in my life.
Therefore, my prayers are very comforting for me and or or the way I feel it needs to comfort for others.
I am sorry your boss is not well and only hope and pray that she does well, I feel like you where I never wish any bad ill to anyone even when they are against me in any way. Certainly distancing myself helps and asking for the patience and strength to be able to causally ignore is how I go about situations.
Welcome back to you and hope all is well at the bank.

Yes, i truly believe that prayer works and it even changes things.
When i prayed that my husband be changed for his jealous ways, it was granted. It didn't come right away, but over time. Now, he rarely gets jealous.
When my daughter was graduating already in College , she wants to pursue Medicine. But my husband and i told her we cannot because of the financial aspect, however i prayed and prayed that she could get a full scholarship and lo she did.
I could go on enumerating the things God has done in my life, and i can truly say God is just around us, waiting for our prayers. He may not give our requests to us in a short span of time, but He will and in His own special way.

Prayer is a communication between a person and his God. Prayer does not only asking all you need but also to listen to the one you are communicating with. A relationship would not prosper, would not develop without communication. The more you pray, the more your are more closer to God and the more you will be guided by Him in all your undertakings. If there is always guidance then your life will change also because you don't rely on yourself or in your own capacity but you surrender to the will of God for you. This means that before we take actions and we make decisions in life, it is better to consult God first. There were a lot of bad people who changed into better lives because of the prayer of their loved ones. A true prayer needs faith, patience and silence. Patience in the sense that not all your prayers would be answered immediately.
