I don't know why people have to say mean things on Youtube to people, or in life for that fact, either. Some people just have try their best to tear others down or make others feel horrible. I don't like it in real life and I don't like seeing or getting mean comments online at that. When I do, typically I'll just block the person.

It's a lot easier to say mean things behind a computer than it is to in real life. I don't know, I guess it depends on the video. Sometimes I'll watch a video and think "Wow, this person is a really big idiot." but I don't say it. There has been one time where I've left one rude comment. It was due to the fact that some thirteen year old girl made a video about how to pierce random body parts and I didn't think it was appropriate so I let my opinion be known. I really think they should filter half the crap that ends up on their anyway.

I dont know why people have to be like that either. Some people are just out to make everyone feel bad. Those kind of people are not anyone I would want to be friends with. I never even leave comments on videos on youtube. I just watch them thats it. If I didnt like it I would just skip to the next video not write something nasty about the video or the person who made it or the people who are in the video.

It's a lot easier for people to be insulting when you don't have to say something to a person's face.

Ugh I totally get what you mean! I see all these hate comments all over Youtube! Take Michelle Phan for example. She's this really successful makeup artist that started off on Youtube. And her Youtube page and comments page are plastered with hate comments from many different people! I don't get it! If you don't like it, don't watch it! It's as simple as that. We don't need your hate. Constructive criticism is fine, but hate is just sad.
I think it's honestly because people are jealous. People are just jealous of those that do better than them, and they hate that someone is better looking or something.

It's one of the pitfalls of the internet. Everyone is more or less anonymous and that means they don't have as many reservations or filters when it comes to what they say to other people. It happens everywhere... not just YouTube... but I will admit that youtube is one of the prime trolling communities.
You just have to have thick skin (especially if you're a video creator) and not let that kind of stuff get to you.
It also helps to spread some positive stuff around! If I see lots of hate comments on a video that I love then I try to say the most sappy positive thing I can.
