For me it's better the noise of snore than the noise of a neighborhood. It's irritating specially loud voice, laughing, talking... It's better for me to sleep with sound of music than noise outside with people talking. How can you avoid with this situation? Even if you ask them to be quiet but they still very noisy.

I prefer snoring than the noise of the neighborhood too!
At least you can kick your partner whenever his snoring disturbs you!
The neighbors are more complicated to deal with. You can always report it to the community head to complain specially if they are making noises in the wee hours of the morning. But sometimes reporting would not help. There was a time when there was a wake here and they started to bring out the videoke machine and started singing for 24 hours. It is becoming a fad to play the videoke machine to keep the mourners awake. I almost have gone nuts! I can't sleep! Good thing that was a Saturday. At least I have time to catch some sleep the following day.

I can relate to that.. it is indeed very upsetting to deal with inconsiderate neighbors. They just think of themselves and their enjoyment without considering the feelings of others. I hate it too. So, what did you do? just leave them alone?

I just leaved them alone because it is permissible for them to get noisy on the last day of the wake. It is one of the instances we can be "legally" noisy. I don't have a case, if ever I complain.

Snoring is very disturbing , yes indeed. What disturbs me most is sneezing. I really feel annoyed when some one sitting close to me is sneezing all the time, on the bus, on the train, on the plane. With no way of escaping, that is really so disturbing.

Exactly, sneezing is also disturbing. Even you are not sleeping and the place is very quiet and suddenly there's somebody sneeze? oh! my goodness....

The neighbors noise would definetely more annoying than snoring! The snoring noise can be easily stop by quick elbow to the ribs and if the person is quite far distance, just throw pillow on him/her, lol! You can use earplugs to blocked some noise or just try to sleep on your side and just put pillow on your head!

Well out of the two, I would have to say that neighborhood noises are something that causes be a great amount of irritation. Especially when said noises are not something that can be blocked out by use of a fan. That is something that really does agitate me beyond all belief. I am sitting there, trying to see, I have a fan on, which really allows me to sleep a lot of the time. Yet when it is something that just gets me every time, someone who has music cranked up to a level that is beyond the absurd. I mean, I enjoy music but not when I am going to bed. And then the neighbors returning home from wherever they are at night, in all hours in the morning, in loud carrying voices. Potentially drunk, which would account for their loud voices.
Snoring really is not something that bothers me all that much for some reason. I have no idea why snoring does not bother me at the slightest. I'm guessing that I am used to being around people who are loud snorers. Therefore, it is just something that really does cause me not to be bothered all that much. It just kind of sinks into the atmosphere a lot of the time. Therefore, snoring is just a part of life for me. In the end, there are going to be a lot things in the neighborhood, that is really far worse than snoring ever is going to be. Therefore in the end, neighborhood noises are going to be something that is not going to bother me at all.

Well , i prefer to have the noise of a snore, than the loud noises the neighbors make.
If despite telling them to hush, they would still persist, you can approach the head of the community and maybe talk it over with them.
Here in our place, we can do that - bring our complain to the barangay captain for the matter to be settled.

Well, here in our place is different. If you do that they angry with you and that I don't want to happen. Maybe the best thing I can do is to put something in my ear .

Any type of sound while I'm trying to sleep keeps me awake and I don't sleep that much anyway. All it takes to wake me up in the morning is opening my door. I think I would prefer the sound of a neighborhood. Would be much more interesting and less annoying than snoring (which I cannot stand).

Hi!
If I had to choose, I guess I would choose snoring, too. But there are times that I can't really sleep when someone is snoring so loudly. It gets me so irritated, too which makes me awake even more. However, neighborhood noises especially partying noises make me awake until late at night or until I've fallen asleep in the wee of dawn.

I don't like both. I can't stand with snoring too. There was a time when my roomate snores a lot. I don't know what to do to stop her snoring. I covered my ears so that I can sleep but still to no avail. What I did was, I make some noise to disturb her sleeping so that she will stop snoring...

For me, they're both disturbing and annoying at that. Whenever I'm setup to sleep, I don't want any disturbances and I don't wanna hear any noises except when I fancy some sounds to lull me to sleep. Thankfully, there aren't any outside disturbances here.

I am more disturbed hearing a neighbor's noise. Specially those Videoke songs past midnight already. I know it is really fun having Videoke with your friends. But there are times that too much is really too much. People should be more considerate about other people as well.

Hi celestial,
I never get disturbed with any of these beacause once i lye on the bed it hardly takes 5 minutes me to sleep. Then starts the time of a person sleeping nearby me to get disturbed because i do snore loudly. In my house every body tries to sleep before me because they say if i sleep before them they won't get sleep easily because of my voice of snores will make their night more black.
