My longest is 9 hours. Let's take away the bathroom breaks and lunch break of 30 minutes. I did this for only 2 straight days and hello headache. I realized I couldn't be that long in front of my PC anymore, doing online work. I really need to get out more! Whew!
What about you guys? What's your number?

we can sit at a computer should not exceed 2 hours because if you sit more than 2 hours can be harmful to the eyes. For example:
EYE SYNDROME BY USE OF COMPUTER MyY (COMPUTER VISION syndrome, or CVS)
The common symptoms of CVS are: eye strain or visual fatigue, dry eyes, burning sensation eyes, bright light, blurred vision, headaches and fatigue the shoulders, neck and back strain.
CAUSES AND TREATMENT METHOD
There are many causes of CVS such as reducing the amount of tears to the cornea, excessive glare or reflected light from the screen, the screen placement not properly or refractive eye you need glasses or replace new glass. Here we will review and provide specific solutions for each problem.
STIMULUS TO REDUCE THE EYE:
Irritated eyes often have the following expression: eyestrain, dry eyes, burning and shining eyes.
* Blink YOU DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH?
When we use computers too intently because we blink less often than usual (only bamg 2 / 3 times the normal number), more often due to a computer screen placed above eye level to make us to open his eyes and open eyes that this makes the eyes dry.
User handling
1 - Stay focused more attention to the blink of an eye.
2-eyes 15-minute break after each hour worked on the computer.
3 - If the eyes are too dry you can use to add artificial tears (especially if you use a computer that can wear contact lenses, the eyes will dry out more easily).
Additional artificial tears as needed
* The radiance of light reflected FROM AND MONITORS
Sun and light in the office can be reflected onto the screen and make eye discomfort. You should note:
1 - Set the position so that the window screen at a party.
2 - Adjust curtains so the sun is not shining directly on the screen and your eyes.
3 - Turn off lights on the ceiling if the light was in the opposite case you can use a desk lamp is taken.
(Bright light in the room can reduce the contrast of the screen)
4 - If you use the light table lamp should be placed in position so light is not reflected on the screen.
5 - You can add filters to the filter screen to reduce glare from the screen
(Filter is also helpful)
* Consider MONITORS
People often worry about the harmful radiation from computer monitors but actually, the amount of radiation is usually lower than the maximum allowed.
The screen should be placed 50 to 60 cm eyes and mind of the screen should be placed lower than eye level from 10 to 20 cm because our eyes work just as comfortable when we glanced down slightly as well as when reading the close. If the display lower or higher than this position will make one or neck strain, neck and shoulders.
You should also regularly clean the dust to the dust screen reduces contrast (contrast) of the screen.
[B] * illumination and contrast of the screen [/ b]
Before adjusting the brightness and contrast of the screen we need to pay attention to the intensity of lighting in the room as if the room is too bright it must also adjust the screen brightness to be able to read text on it. So we need to pay attention to adjust the amount of light in the room not too bright or too dark, then we will adjust the brightness and contrast of the screen until our eyes are comfortable.
* TEXT SIZE AND COLOR
Adjusting the font size of text pages also help reduce attempts to cause visual fatigue. Font size font size ideal is 3 times the smallest font sizes, which can be read. Want to adjust the font size of this, we must stand a distance away from the computer about 3 times the normal use and adjust the font size so small that most can still be read.
The best that we should choose a white background or black letters on a light background and dark text is acceptable. Should not adjust for the contrast between text and background reading too poor or too confusing on a platform will easily cause visual fatigue.
* QUALITY MONITORS
Quality of the screen also affects visual comfort while using.
Three factors affect the quality of the screen are: scan speed, resolution and pixels. I was advised to use the screen on the scanning speed is 80 Hz, 800x600 pixels and less than 0.28mm.
Spectacles FOR COMPUTER USE
If you have the first refractive error that you should wear glasses when using a computer because of refractive error as farsightedness, astigmatism or myopia, if not adjusted or adjusted incorrectly will lead to eye strain, headaches if they work longer on the screen.
Signs of refractive error is your blurred vision or eyestrain and working with computers. Then you should go optometrist, ophthalmologist and the technician will measure the refractive eye and give you advice on the appropriate glasses.
If you're at the age of presbyopia (over 40), the more you need to use glasses when working with computers. But the choice of lens for presbyopia using the computer a bit complicated for a computer screen located in the intermediate zone of vision in sight and not nearly far hoacthi sense. In this case, two glass lenses are not suitable because in less than just for near vision, the wearer must raise its head high and look at the new screen that word so easily cause neck strain.
(Two glass lenses may not be appropriate when working with computers is required for visual visual medium)
Solution is that we can use the 3 whites, but the glass is slightly rare on the Vietnam market combined with the visual medium of glass is not very big, so we read is not duocthoai roof. If increased capacity glasses (progressive lenses), then we should choose to use special computer because this type to wear a relatively large middle market, this glass has the advantage that helps us see clearly in any distance (but the disadvantage is the slightly higher price). Otherwise you can use reading glasses (1 glass lenses) for exclusive use when working on the computer.
Glasses for computer users are advised to use the type of lenses have anti-reflected rays (in the anti-splash) because it will reduce the amount of light reflected from the surface 2 glasses of visual fatigue.
You should not wear glasses because aging has made available the type of glass is inserted in the measurement series should definitely not always suitable to each person.
Spectacles match will help us a lot when using computers. It helps us avoid smoky eye aches, headaches, neck aches, fatigue and neck ...
But we also need to pay attention to another factor equally important that the seating arrangements so that reasonable work.
SEATS OF THE UPCOMING WORK
The seating arrangements do not lead to reasonable headaches, neck aches, shoulder aches and neck aches.
You go straight to the screen in front of a difference but do not let the
Should screen the eyes from 50 to 60 cm, not too high and too low, lower center screen view from 10 to 20 cm.
When sitting you should adjust so that the second seat of your forearm parallel to the floor, 2 thighs perpendicular to the second leg and your feet placed flat on the floor.
You should also remember always keep your back straight and shoulders holding two equal
If you use the clips to use when typing documents, the clamp should be as close to the screen as possible.

Before I can stay in front of the computer for about 8 hours because of my work. But now that my new work doesn't need to stay that long, I prefer to lessen it since it gives me headache and my eyes were starting to get itchy. Besides, there are other things to do than to stay in front of a computer. =)

That's nice! I don't know how to bake. We don't have an oven either so that's that. When I'm not in front of my PC, I'm probably doing house chores as well.

As for me, i usually only able to online, after i had done with my morning house-works. After minus out the hours that i spend on completing my other offline tasks, i am only able to online 5 hours a day. I think it is hard to be able to sit straight for more than 3 hours in front of computer. I always takes my breaks, to be able to online. It is because my eyes gets really tired and head feels dizzy if i was to sit for more than 5 hours a day in front of computer.

I have ever worked for 20 hours in a row. I started work at 07.30 AM and finished at 03.30 AM in the next day. I work mostly using computer but I didn't in front of my computer for 19 hours in a row. Off course I took a rest when lunch, dinner and went to the toilet. Too long in front of computer cause my eyes so sore I could not open my eyes widely.
Unlike you, I don't work online. I have my main job and sometimes this job make me work extra time. However, I enjoy it. The salary is good enough

Not really, headache often come to me. Working online and offline have the same difficulty and we often facing problem. There is no easy job, friend. We just different field. Since I don't have good skill and experiences in online earning, I prefer work offline. Furthermore, even though I work offline, I use computer mostly. When my eyes tired, it could trigger headache. Headaches such as motion sickness. Very bad

That's great de_toya! Well, if you work in an office, you don't really get to be in front of the PC for 20 hours straight. That's why you probably don't get much headaches.

I used to work in an office as well. It was a demanding job, but I do enjoy it. The pay was great, it's the time that's killing me. And so, I resigned and now, this is what I usually do. Chat, chat, chat!

My longest that I stayed in front of the computer would be 13 hours, that happen on week end and I was alone that day. And I keep online and doing some of my work at the same time. I did break to take my lunch and dinner but that were all done in front the computer. That is the most craziest thing I have done, and I don't think I will ever want to do it again.

I would have to say that I can stay in front of my computer all day. The longest for me is probably 10-11 hours. I really enjoy making money online and it consumes a lot of time that I have. That is why I am on the internet so much in one day. I think that if I had another source of income I wouldnt be on the internet so much though.

Excluding bathroom and food breaks... er... OK, this is a little bit mad.
About 36 hours.
A whole day at work in front of the PC (working from home), followed by an entire night awake for virtual meetings with teams in India, Japan and the US, followed by another day at work. In the times between work, I played EverQuest to amuse myself.
Then I slept for about 16 hours.

Mine can vary from day to day. As I cannot be here in the mornings any longer.
I am going to take a guess and say about 6 - 8 but definitely need to take several breaks as I do other offline things and I like to balance them all.
Yeah straight through like you would certainly cause a headache and blurry vision for me too. lol

Not that long. My breaks I take are longer than the time I spend on the computer. I can't sit on the computer anymore for over 2 hours straight. That's when my vision starts to leave me me, and my head begins to ache. Sure computers are great, but too much of a good thing is not so great.

Depends on how much workload I got. I make my money online so there's a good guess that I am bordering 12 - 14 hours on a really hectic day. I also do writing and research in real life and computer is only my choice of instrument so that makes my eyes pretty much fried. I doesn't help that I have an eye condition. But I do sometimes compensate by resisting the temptation to boot my computer. If I do so, I usually stay for an hour and give the seat to others (I pretty much hogged our computer). Another way is that I do is print some of my documents so I don't have to stare at the screen if I need a read (it also makes inserting notes easier). I do take a day-off on days that I feel that I won't be making any income. I have chores to do as well so I take time doing that. Also, I try to cut back on computer leisure (watching movies or TV online) so I can rest.

beingwell I often spend from six to 8 hours here and would do more if it was not for my damnable roommate who fusses at me til I go to bed at 10. I feel like she is my mommy and here i am 89 and she is 81 and getting senile with it too. I wish I had a private room but cannot afford it.When I am behind I really try to catch up and will make a concentrated effort
to do so. Right now for example is a catch up time. I am retired and my time is all my pwn.

Hmm the longest I've played in front of the computer.. Is about 18 hours a day for about 6 days. I would only get up to use the rest room and run back and than out to grab something to eat from the kitchen and come back and eat in front of the computer.
I was playing an MMO and of course I was a complete addict. Did this off and on for almost 4 years. Lot of life I have lost but can't get it back. But the people I've met there have touched my life and will never be forgotten.

The best i can stay in front of computer is for 12 hours. But when my day starts with computer i have lot of outdoor activities around my surrounding so iam not mostly on my computer the whole day but when i come back i sit for hours and hours and computer. I dont get bored or any headache i find it quite interesting to sit around computer and use the internet. Yeah it happens to me sometimes that when my outdoor games are not done i find it quite boring to sit around my computer its just so bugging to get around it. So lastly saying i spend around a average time of around 6 hours in front of computer.

It really depends on what you do with your computer, mine stays on from mostly 7AM and stays on till midnight. I have no problem with my eyes or headache associated with my computer life. Sometimes back, I used to have that problem but I think I got used to it. I can even go for 20 plus hours every day.
