Do you feel silly following your heart? do you think anyone who Just follows their heart is crazy or stupid? I've been watching the Bachelorette and I feel for Ashley. She followed her heart right into the arms of an a$$hole!Today on the View Whoopi called her stupid because Ashley was warned about the guy but still gave him a chance. It made me think. Are there people out there that don't follow their hearts Because they fear seeming stupid? Me? I have always followed my gut reactions to things. I think Ashley was too fearful to go with her gut reactions with the Bachelor so she went for it this season. yeah it blew up in her face but.. by following her heart I think she will find The One. And I think everyone should follow what their heart says or at least listen to that little voice inside. Your thoughts.

I do follow my heart...and they say if you want to be successful.....follow your passion which I also think is driven by your heart....I watched a little of the program. I don't think she is stupid.....she is just giving everyone a chance.

Almost all major decisions in my life were made because I have followed my heart. I was young when I got married, I was 22 then. My boyfriend and I were together only for 5 months. We were not even in the same city, and we saw each other 6 times only before we said "I do". Nevertheless, my heart was really telling me that he is the man for me. We are going to turn 9 years in a few months and we were blessed with 2 beautiful children. We have our ups and downs but I could say I am very glad I listened to my heart.
Another major thing was when I left my previous job. My mind was telling me no and trying to rationalize things. But I was not happy with my work anymore, that made me an unhappy individual too. So I have decided to follow my heart and left my job. I found a better job working at home which allowed me to spend more time with my family.
My heart led me to my happiness.

When you are in love sometimes it is hard not to follow your heart. Before my husband and I got together, I was with a man for three years. I believed that some day we would have children, but it was something that he did not want and I wanted with all my heart. Finally one day while he was at work, I packed all my things into trash bags and boxes and the man who is now my husband but was then a good friend helped me move. My ex came home and wanted to know what I was doing. I told him that I was moving. Not too long after that my husband and I began to date and I was pregnant which moved up our wedding date. People think that is why we got married but we got married for love.

I'm glad. You did follow your heart. You Wanted children , your ex didn't to me that's a deal breaker. I Never wanted children but I say it up front Way before anything gets serious. Now if he Thinks he can change my mind , that's on him. Thankfully my guy Hears me.Let them think what they want, you git the guy you wanted.

It's difficult if you are in the situation. If you loved someone and that person is stupid. Especially if you think he needs your help and you hope that your love can help him and heal him as a person. But sometimes if it takes too much time and you have shed a lot of tears it's not worth it. Even if you have done everything for that person there would come a time that you will become tired. And you wanted to end that relationship even if it hurts so much to do that.
Maybe for some time you will follow your heart. Your love will blinds you. But it is always important to loved yourself more than anybody else.

I don't follow my heart, but I do allow it some input. I let my heart make suggestions to my brain, so to speak, and if my brain agrees, then I go with it. If my brain does not agree, then I do not follow my heart. My heart told me to go for the man I married, and asked my brain for advice. My brain weighed all of the facts etc. and made a wise decision.

Following the heart is a double edged sword. I think there is so much to gain and so much to lose at the same time. If my mind id fighting frantically with my heart...I might second guess it..but if it's just putting up a little fight..well...the heart usually wins out.
I have followed my heart before and it be the biggest mistake I have ever made..but there have been times when it has been the thing that saved me too. It is hard to say because sometimes there is no right or wrong..there is just a lesson. If the heart led her to an a$$hole...the heart will lead her away and she will love another day. I don't think anyone is stupid for following their heart..if nothing else..they become smarter and stronger for doing so.

It is never silly to follow your heart. this is the only way that we can be true to ourselves. Not following our hearts is making ourselves live a lie and that will only bring regret.

Hi Behen
Your bhai believes in two things - Heart and Brains dont always go together and on 90% cases disagree. And a simple, pure and honest Heart comes up with thoughts and ideas that are almost always better and healthier.
I almost always (99%) follow my heart and am ruled by that. Yes, at times, when I start to think, things turn (or at least seem to look bad and even worse) but that is when I think (use my brain). I trust my heart more (that includes your bahu too) and am happier these days.
Many a times, someone has to think and I have entrusted her with the thinking, planning, management etc. (I know a few will never apprecite that) but it has all the way turned for good between us. Yes, we have some disagreements many a times and at end I allow her win and have her way (but I can do that because I dont think much and leave it to my heart).
The brain should be used where it is needed - work!
Sorry, I do not have any idea about the "Bachelorette" so cannot add anything on that aspect of this discussion.

Hi Bhai! If you two didn't follow your hearts , you wouldn't be together, Against All Odds and Indian Tradition! My head knows that I follow my heart so they work together to try to make things happen.
The Bachelorette is a t.v. show where a young woman looks for love and marriage by choosing from 25 men. She goes out on dates and she picks who stays on the show and who doesn't . Ashley is this season's Bachelorette. On the first show She is introduced to the guys. Well before she came on the show, a friend of hers told her to be wary of a guy named Bentley. But being a kind heart she meets him and feels a connection only to find out 2 weeks later he has no feelings for her at all. Now she was on the Bachelor, a show where a guy gets to pick, last season. and she didn't follow her heart and tell the guy she loved him. so this time she vowed to be open only to get hurt. Now you know about the shows us Yanks see.

You have always followed your gut reactions to things.I understand the gut reactions is the so-called sixth sense, which depends on people's knowledge, experience ,etc.I beg to differ, because things are intricate ,sometimes the truth is quite other than what you think. If we all follow the gut reactions,we will suffer.I hope I don't offend you.

I don't think following your heart means that you are stupis. It just means that you make a decision without calculating what the end result will be. I am like that. I follow my heart whether it is a job decision or relationship decisions. You will not be able to savor the sweet ending if you do not risk and follow your heart. If the ending is not what you hoped for then it just means it is not for you, but you learn from it. When the same situation happens again, you know better. You are much wiser and not gullible. still it is much better to follow yur heart than restrain yourself from loving and being loved.

I think there is a difference between heart and gut. When I see a homeless person, my heart says that I should give him money, my gut says he'll spend it on something other than food. Ashley was probably attracted to that guy, but she might have had that nagging feeling all along that something was off about him. I have never seen that show you're talking about though, so I guess I can't really say much about it.

It was more that she Didn't want to believe the charming guy she just met was the snake her friend warned her about. He was nice when he was with her but all along he was saying how he really had no feelings for her at all. It was sad because in a very short time she fell in love.

Following your heart is not mean stupid or silly for me it means that you are listening of what the heart say but not to the extent that you will not think for what your heart say.because on my own experience you need to follow your heart just to make you happy, specially if talks about love when you love somebody or when you say your destiny man or woman they are lot thing will happen because when you follow your heart you will sacrifices a lot but when you follow what other say you will lost your Heart....

I have follwed my heart at times. If something doesn't seem right and the voices say it isn't I won't do it! If it feels right and my heart says it is right, I will follow my heart! When I have not gone with my heart I usually end up being burned! I don't watch alot of reality tv but I caught the episode of the Bachelorette in Thailand. I got the impression Ashley still can't get over the #sshole! I hope she fines the one but I am not holding my breath!

Yep, knowing how to follow your heart or more generally your gut instinct is important if you wanna live long because it could save you in most cases. Following your gut is also used to sense danger. Animals do this, they try to sense what's going on around them using mostly their guts if there is a potential danger roaming around them. So if animals are capable of this, I'm sure humans can also do it. We can also sense what is going on around us without even questioning anyone about it. It's something I take as important because it's crucial in decision making.
