My hubby is back from the official trip and he got some interesting gifts to us. Most of them are Delsol color changing things like bag, clips, sunglasses etc. He had a trip to NASA and while he was coming back, he found something interesting about a ring. It has a crystal with liquid bubble inside, thermochromic liquid, which is blue in color by normal. And based on our energy level and mood and temperature it changes its color. Say pink to happy, green to mixed emotions, black to anxious. I was wondering if thats real. But it was purely based on body reactions and temperature, the ring does changes its color and this was purely based on science and liquid reaction. Have you heard about this?

That's a cool technology. I've never heard of it before. Of course it can't be accurate because there will always a difference between your body temperature and the environmental temperature. And the ring may not be so sophisticated enough to detect purely your body temp

Hi Skyehi, Yeah thats a other fact we have to agree. The body temperature may vary and we cannot predict it so accurate. But its nice to hear about the thermo crystal which causes the color change. Its interesting science though not a accurate one!

Hey SkyeHi, Not at all! Infact you added many interesting notifications! True I always admire interesting discoveries and devices. Science is my interesting subject as well. I wanted to be an astronaut when i was young. But now I dropped it as i am weaker in maths, which requires to be one of the important qualification. So my hubby knew how much interest i have, so he went NASA and took interesting pics and also this ring to make my dream true! I would love to check out the MRI and CT machines, i admire the real science! Thanks SkyeHi, you were interesting!

It's definitely interesting. If you feel that science of living beings and their physics and chemistry is interesting, there's so many biomedical instruments out there you just need to give a glance at. Cause they're such brilliant discoveries by simple humans as ourselves. All these MRI, CT machines are all simply amazing when you see the principles behind their working. Sorry if i'm boring you but i just them so interesting.

Yes, mood rings have been around for years. I'm not sure if they truely depict our actual feels though. I don't own 1 but when I would try them on at the store they would always turn black no matter how I was feeling. So I decided they were not for me. I would like to add the trip to NASA was the real jewel. I believe everyone would love to go there and check out the technology. Best Wishes!

Hi sswallace, This is first time of hearing of it, nice to hear you were aware of it. It was bit of excitement to watch if it really works. I saw it changed to blue to green and then pink, which means very happy. But when i read the scientific truth, its purely based on temperature of body and reaction.Well said!! NASA was my dream and my hubby fulfilled it just for me. He has got a NASA embossed images and pics.Since I couldn't make this time with him, next time he wanted to take me Houston and Florida. Cheers!!

I had one of those before. Apparently, mood ring works based on the temperature instead of mood. Probably, your mood and body temperature has a connection. Once, I put the ring in the fridge and it turned black. And then I put it back on, it turned green again. So, I personally don't believe in mood rings. But I do believe in aliens.

Hi Mirsya, You are right, its purely based on temperature of the body. It worked when my daughter had high fever yesterday, so its not exactly based on mood. But I like the gift from hubby as he tries to express love in new gifts. Aliens! Oh still there are lots of news about them recently, hope they are true! Cheers!

These mood rings are not anything new. The firt time i heard about them i ws expecting my son. I was 20 and im now 55. So they been around awhile. I think they are pretty neat things. I dont know how corect they are though. About 10 years ago i was selling stuff at a flea market and one of the bulk items i bought to re-sell was mood rings. I still have some.

I had one in the 70's as did almost every kid. It was the in thing. As they were only a few dollars, most parents agreed to buy them. I wouldn't even think of wearing a trashy thing like that now.

Hi CatLady, I believe in India we never had those types, so most of us are not aware of this ring. And happy to hear all of you familiar with it! I was bit excited to see the color change when i am angry with my kids, in love and normal. Great to hear it was at those days of 70's!

I learned this stuff several years ago. Actually there is also a software which works with your mouse. It is just like this mood ring. This software can see whether you are happy, sad, angry or not. As it said that people use the mouse differently when they have the different moods. This is very interesting. I love China

Hi Youless, Thats so interesting to hear. So there are many patterns available similar to mood ring. The software would be very interesting though with the mouse. Am eager to see how it would be. Post some pics if you have one! Cheers!!

I always wanted one when I was younger. I've never owned one personally but my cousin had one and I would wear it just for fun. I've also tried them on in stores before. I don't believe that they are truly accurate and actually read your mood. They do change color though. Even though I didn't (and still don't) believe that they are accurate, I still always wanted one because of the changing colors.

Hi Chastised_Dreamz, True thats the fact. My hubby knew it well that its not accurate, he got it for two reasons - one, it will be interesting though not accurate, second, woman likes colors, so do i. I love different colors based on the costumes i wear, so he thought it would interest me! Cheers!!

I ha done of these mood rings when i was a teenager. It really was a pretty ring and the color really did seem to change with the kind of mood i was in. I used to wear it all of the time and i was always checking to see if the color was changing. You don't see these rings anymore. it would be nice to see them make a comeback.

I did not really see a mood rings before, but I believe that it is real. But it is a chemical reaction which is similar to those strap thermometer that we use to put at our forehead and the color changed according to our body temperature, When it turn to some color, which mean we a having a high temperate or so call fever. So, it is definitely real that this ring can change its color when our mood changes which is more likely related to our body temperature.

Hi Yspmyl, Very well explained!! Its exactly the same concept of a thermometer and changes based on the temperature of body. Even i haven't heard about it before. Am really excited to see such rings!

Hi besthope, Firstly I am glad he is back, hooray as I know you were anxiously awaiting and now all will be back to regular routine at home. As for the mood ring gosh I remember owning a few as a teen and boy did I so believed I was the colors it depicted. Usually mine was always blue, and I guess because I was always warm temperature it reacted that way. But it was fun though to see so many try it on, hoping they would get some type of lucky reactions. lol I can't say I believe in them now as I have not owned one in several years. Though it is a nice and interesting gift that your hubby picked out. I am glad as it shows he put a bit of thought while selecting it.

I use to have mood rings when I was a little girl. I think they are awesome. I actually have not seen them in the stores around me for a long time. If I were to actually see them in the store I would probably get one. My boyfriend actually has a card he got from rehab when he was trying to control his anger and drinking, the card had a small square that when you press your thumb it will tell you your mood and if you are angry so he can try to control his temper.

Hi Amanda, Thats interesting! I have never heard of this until now.lol. Though its not reflecting our real mood, but me and hubby loved it to watch how it affects based on our mood. Thats funny as well. Am happy that your boy friend was able to be fine and the card helped in finding out the reactions. Hope things are fine at your end. Take care friend!
