I read an article today about a study conducted among young people and the majority of them are saying that the bank account is more important than the similarity of the characters when people search for potential partner. They say that the life today is stressful enough and all will be better if they can find partners with "healthy" financial stability.
Do you agree with this? Do you think that money today is more important for a relationship than love?

No I dont believe that money is more important than love in a relationship. I think that the most important thing in a relationship is trust. I do however feel that both partners should have the same views when it comes to money. A lot of people end up fighting and getting a divorce because one partner spends all the money and the other one likes to save money.

It really doesn't matter if you have money or not. Because, we can see a lot of wealthy celebrities who broke up. So it's really not about financial stability, but it's the person's perspective in life and love that matters. I don't agree that financial stability should be the grounds for concluding to get married, it's just so materialistic. Yes, we can be as practical as we can, and that maybe the notion of this generation's era, but no, I beg to disagree. Money may be an issue in a family, but it should never be the basis to get married. Never should be. I believe more on emotional stability and contentment.

Yes, I agree with you to some extent. But also when you are thinking of starting a relationship you are seeking for some stability and the financial stability is a part of it. Especially I agree with the part that life now is so hectic that more and more people decide not to tie the knot exactly because of the financial stability. It's sad.
