Since childhood, I have feel fear of the hights, I can´t even get on the roof of my oun house without feeling nauseous, and getting down, is quite an odissey))). Although it is not disturbing my every days life, I decided to put an end to it, or at least, putting under control, and, I decided to make a parachute jump next month, I have been attending classes, and jumping, supported by a harness, of curse, and it is very dificult for me, not to freeze, once up there, but I am decided and I hope everything will go right. I wonder if any of you, have ever fight with a fear, or, if even have ever feel something similar.

Scientifically speaking,it explains that people who are afraid of heights has some internal problems, particular with kidney. But maybe some had fear of heights due to bad experience or cause by trauma. Good thing you want to overcome your fears...that's the best thing to do,help yourself. goodluck and have a good day always

hello albto :) we all have our different kinds of fears. what you have is acrophobia or fear of heights. well, i also have a slight fear on heights. i tend to get cold and clammy when i'm on a higher ground. i don't even like to look down because i feel like the world is going to swallow me alive :)but, one way to overcome such is through constant exposure. little by little, expose your self in different heights. like climbing at a ladder in your backyard and then level up. it is good that you are taking classes to help yourself overcome your fear, it is one step towards your goal. just an advice, don't take a parachute jump if you are still not ready. it may cause you bad feelings or may worsen your fear. just take your time and you'll never know, you will be able to reach the highest mountain or highest building once you overcome it.

Thank you friend for your comments and concerns, and believe that I am taking this very seriously, and don´t worry, the final decision about if I do the jump or not is not mine, but of my instructor, I talked to her about my problem and my intentions, and she is helping me to overcome all of this. Actually, I am very excited about this and I believe that it will be a good experience. Thank you again for your post.

Thats very brave of you. I respect you for your determination not to back out of it. Humans do fear, and i think there is nothing wrong with that. I am still scared to go on rides in theme parks and such. I am quite sure fear is all in the mind, and whether we are scared, it is up to decide. Usually, only the strong willed are not afraid of anything, as they have the will power. I think you are one of the people i am referring to, keep having the mentality and you will overcome your mind, to not be fearful or anything. Once you make your first parachute jump, i am sure, you will have feel like you conquered the world, and that subsequent jumps are nothing.
