Writing A Book About The 80's

I've decided it'll be fun to write a book based on the 80's given that I love that decade so much and have enough knowledge to complete a fairly large book on it. However, I don't really want to have it exactly as most 80's related books seem to be whereby they contain miniature bio's about each band etc. I want it to be completely different and unique.. but I haven't got many ideas as to how I can make it that way! Can anyone offer any suggestions please? I would be really grateful :)

write about popular culture, history, that sort of thing. tell about your life in the 80's, what you listened to, what you did etc.

The 80's were a fun decade and it seems that there are many books about the bands of the 80's, but what about the movies, politics, and stuff like that of the 80's. I know a book of 80's stars would be a great asset to the entertainment world as well. I think that it would be awesome to write a book about a decade of history and I am sure that you will find a way to make it unique. Good luck and let us know if you finish it.
