Why do we do this? Lol... Somehow, I'm still hoping that one of this days I can still fit on that cute shirt I bought but months and years had passed and still it's too small for me. Haha... Do you do the same?

Hi santos mari chris: That's a really interesting question. i would love to do this but the answer is no simply because both my mother and my eldest brother pressed me to threw the old clothes that are not good for me anymore away. you know, we sometimes have a special connection with an object like for example clothes because they remind you a good episode or memory of your life. But as life goes on we have to leave some of these objects ALVARO

For myself, no, not at all. For the kids, I will hold onto things that they've outgrown that I can pass off to my brother and sister-in-law for their children. I used to be really bad about hoarding clothes, but I'm not doing that anymore because I just really don't think that I have space to do that. In addition to that, I'm not going to be having any more children, so I don't need to save the clothes and things like I used to do.

Yes there are a few favourite clothes like shirts and trousers that I have been holding on to for quite some time with the hope that one day I may get into them. But mostly my daughter picks up my clothes and starts wearing them.

Guilty! Sometimes it takes me years to finally part way with some of my clothes, like the Guess shorts I had that were a size 27, or a size 5 (I think). Yep, not going to fit into that size again. But like some of the other responders, I do keep some clothes because of their sentimental value or because I might "need" them for something some day. What that something is, I don't know. Organizers say if you haven't worn it in a year to donate or throw the clothes away. Some things I can, but some things I can't.

Yes I hold onto things for years even if they don't fit me. I have a special place that I keep all the things I may need someday. They are too big for me, and whenever I gain weight I think about getting them out. Some tops I have had since I was 16, I'm 55 now. Everytime I change clothes to suit a new season, I say I should get rid of some, but I don't. I have a friend that helps me with the clothes and she always teases me about how many I have. I am on disability, so I don't work anymore, and don't go out much so I have much more than I need. I either like something to much to part with it or it has sentimental value.

There are clothes that i can not dispose of. I have a some outgrown shirts and pants every month, heheh (as I grow bigger and bigger every month huh) I gave most of it to those street sweepers or garbage collectors here in my place, as I know they need old shirts as working clothes. But sometimes, I am keep it if there is it's sentimental value:) Good morning from the Philippines!

Yes, I hold to quite a lot of clothes that don't fit me. I lost weight over the last year or so since my heart attack and there is stuff in the wardrobe that doesn't fit any more. I don't know why I don't get rid of them now, because I have proved to myself that I won't put the weight back on now because I eat so much more healthily now. I think it's time they went, so will sort them out for a charity store,as some haven't even been worn.. _Derek

There are just some clothing that we form a close attachment to. eve when the clothing no longer fits us we can't seem to part with it. i know there are some things in my dresser and my closet that could find a new home, but I am still clinging to them,

In really depends on the clothes. But I remember I treasure one pillow of mine from the age of 5 until 14. I really made me cried because that's the pillow I hold on when the Mount Pinatubo erupt.
