Do you ever get hurt by a joke?

It hurts a lot but we need to get over i.

Sometime I think, It is just joking, but in some cases I am getting hurt by piercing type of joke. It means the mood that is in joking situation depend what happen to me..

well yea. at times i do get hurt. i know my friends weren't intentionally trying to hurt me but yeah.

Yes, I am too sensitive for that but I keep telling myself it is just a joke and I shouldn't be hurt. If that happens in a crowd, i just smile.

Well lot's of time I feel offended when my friends start making jokes about my family but I know its not his intention to do that but since I'm just a human being I really felt bad about it especially when everyone is laughing at you.

Yes,I mean,I got hurt by a joke before. In my environment, everybody will play jokes on everything,but they don not know what they do. Even I can understand they doesn't really know my situation. In the long run, I slowly beginning to play jokes on the others too, I am no different, nerver think about their feeling. It make me confuse. who have same experience pls tell me how to do when I face the problem

well.I'm fat....but I've never hurt by the malicious jokes!! an I brave?hiaia~~ if they say something,I just chosider that's a way of his poor desprate desire to please others. and he do this by hurting anoter people, that's his problem of being a man. so I'm not that much enthusiastic about other's private affair....

Welcome to Mylot :) Getting hurt by a joke is depends upon the joke & also it depends upon a mentality of person. Sensitive people gets hurt immediately & the sportive people wont.. Anything can be mistaken as well as anything can be good it depends upon our vision.

sometimes it happened to me in my college days.I really feel about that very badly. sometime i recall it that one.

i never get those types of thoughts because i do those types of "jokes" too. and you never should get offended by those jokes. why? because most of the time they just say without thinking. like for eg. when you say "you son of a *****" you are actually insulting the mother of that person, more than you are insulting the guy even if you dont want to offend neither of them.

I always had that feeling too because I'm over sensitive. I thinks it's normal to get hurt. Just tell your friend that his joke isn't funny anymore :)

Sometimes people just make fun without even knowing that others might get hurt by such actions. Well I used to make fun of others exactly the way you described the topic but I never realised that it would be hurtful until my friends pick on me the way I picked on others and then I realised that its really hurtful specially when you are telling a true story or an incident you have come across. So yes its very hurtful when people behave in such ways.

When jokes seems like an attack on my person, I easily get hurt. But I don't let the other person see that. That's why I really hate it when my friends makes fun of other peoples characters or traits. It may be funny but in every joke there's a grain of truth. If the person who's joking is not mindful of what he is saying, that hurts other people and is somehow a prejudice or injustice towards the recipient.

my cousin once told me that if you easily got offended by others mischievous acts, then you're not that mature yet. It does hurt sometimes, but if you won't really care about it, then it will just pass.
