How worse can your body get?

Reading some of the lotters posts, I know many have some really serious illness.
And I am now convinced. I'm UNHEALTHY!! It made me decide to post this discussion because I think my body is getting worst. Or, I mean, my health. I think I'm having a heartburn now and I almost wanted to vomit.
I'm thinking of all my sickness/illness/whatever it is, and here they are....
I have migraine,
my eyes aren't 20/20 vision,
(I have -100 lens for my eyeglasses)
I'm hypothyroid,
my heart isn't healthy, (just a thought)
I'm asthmatic,
I'm acidic and having heartburns,
and I'm overweight!!!
Thinking of them makes me really weak.
...and that would be mentally ill. LOL
How about you? How worse can your body get?
Are you healthy enough? (well, I envy you if that's the case)
Suggestions are warmly welcome. (especially for the last part "overweight") LOL

Hi adnileb
Well, I am suffering from Ulcerative Colitis(since 2000) and Rheumatoid Arthritis(since 2008) and have to stay at home all the time... The UC will eventually lead to cancer of the Colon and I am almost always on prescribed diet, medicines and blah blah blah...
Now, two apporaches - feel sad and sulk all the life making your day and night gloomy or forget everything(the thoughts) and enjoy the time you have left... your call...?
I preferred to live and enjoy every moment that I can...

Hi adnileb
Actually in today's day and age no one is exempt from bad health. Sadly a lot of factors including genetics play a role in bad health.
What we can do as people is strive for a healthy lifestyle and try to live as stress free as possible. Though it is certainly easier said then done.
Regular routine check-ups are important and of course being pro-active with any form of symptoms also contribute to pre-warnings and or striving for better health.
Therefore, my suggestion is to perhaps first speak to your family physician about all you mentioned before you make any lifestyle changes. Certainly taking on the role of betting eating and exercising will help, but best to check first as you would not want to modify the wrong nutrients. I say this as you are quite young, though not exempted, you would want to make sure you start out right.
Outside of daily non-stop headaches, I am not complaining of any other health impediments that I am aware of, though I must admit anxiety attacks have occurred but I have gotten better in this area. Circumstances precluded me from preventing them. Outside of those I do have a heart murmur since birth, but do not think I have issues with it. I do eat properly and do exercise, but for cardio only now.
Cheers to better health!

Hi HWG...
Actually, we don't have a personal family physician and I haven't found a good one yet. Last year, I asked a doctor for my thyroid but I think she's not that good because she didn't advice me anything regarding what not to eat or the best foods to eat. So, until now, no good doctor yet. I still have my regular blood tests though. And my TSH levels are getting lower which is a good sign. Ny sickness regularly visits me. Sometimes, when the others are fine, another will come. I think there's no day that I didn't have any sickness.

'Overweight' is an evergreen issue that never seems to fade with time. Maybe we should appreciate our size as the underweight are hoping that they get half of what we have. Their gawky and sickly looking body look as though they have not tasted food for weeks! While we who are considered 'bigs' walk confidently like a well fed baby, you feel sorry to see a skinny person who is not only shapeless but walking down the street like a lifeless scarecrow. So pathetic sight. I am happy with my present size compared to those who think being slim is beautiful, which is not always the case.

I don't know if I can help you with most of the problems, but the first thing I would say is to make sure you get problems checked out. If you don't want to deal with doctors that deal with the pharmaceutical companies, you could find a naturopathic doctor or homeopathic doctor who would try to solve problems with natural solutions. As far as your vision goes, I have been wearing glasses since 6th grade and I just deal with it because I don't want to wear contacts since they bother my eyes too much. I'm not sure what my lens strength is, but I do know it is stronger now that it was in the past. I have to be right up to the mirror to see myself clearly if I don't have my glasses on. As far as your weight, how do you eat and do you get enough exercise? For that matter, the same question about how you eat could be asked about the heartburn as well. Some foods contribute to both problems. I don't know what can be done about migraines. Right now, I am far from healthy since I am in treatment for a recurrence of ovarian cancer. I have not been exercising much so I am starting to get weak. I went for a short bike ride with my brother and his kids today and I was totally out of breath by the time I got back to his house. I haven't been eating much most of the time so I haven't put on much weight during my treatments, but I haven't lost much either. I hope to lose about 20 or so pounds after I finish treatment, but if I don't I won't lose any sleep over it. I may be slightly overweight, but not as bad as I was when I got cancer the first time in 2003. I wish you well.

I did a search on thyroid disease natural cures and came up with this article. I don't remember if you said you had high or low (hypo or hyper), but this one talks about weight gain so it might be the right problem. Check it out and see if it helps. The link is: http://www.naturalways.com/thyroid.htm. Have a great weekend!!!

I already sought a doctor for my thyroid and she isn't god. I just stick to drinking my thyroid hormone replacement everyday but isn't helping me that much. Like you, I don't like wearing contacts too because I'm not comfortable with it. They said if I wear my glasses always, my visions will get better and soon I won't be wearing eyeglasses anymore. But that wasn't true, every year it gets worse.
Regarding my weight, believe it or not, I don't eat that much and I'm having some sort of diet plans. But they aren't working for me because of this thyroid disease. It keeps me on gaining weight. Sometimes, when I eat little amount of food, I get easily hungry then, heartburn arises. I think my sickness is like some sort of dominoes.

Hi adnileb all these illnesses you have mentioned i don't think are the illness i think these comes in our body automatically when we grow old but in your case it came a bit too early as you said you are not that old.
I too have the problem like my eyes are not 20/20, I am acidic & have digestion problem but does not matter because i don't get worried to think of these but always keep myself happier to keep away other diseases.

Yes these are early bloomers.
I think we need to check the eating habits as most of things we suffer are due to that only.We need to do some physical work to digest all food we intake. Also try not to take junk food. ALWAYS SAY NO... to junk food,OILY food. Add more of SALADS,FRUITS,GREEN VEGETABLES in your diet. Always take more of water in a day beacuse water is something which takes dilute acids, toxic material from your body.

I'd love to eat salad as they are my favorites but I stopped eating them ever since I knew that some of them aren't good for my thyroid. Like broccoli, cabbage, lettuce and other veggies. They will worsen my thyroid disease that will lead me to more weight. I seldom eat junk foods because it's addictive. And water is a YES, a drink a lot of them. Thanks for the advice sjvg!!

I'm 38. With blood sugar levels almost reaching diabetic status. I have astigmatism in my eye, with 50/25 vision. And overweight. I admit I go on and off on my exercise routine. I know I'm not healthy. I need to do something about it....but I'm too lazy. :(

Oh no, better not to reach the diabetic stage. It's so difficult as they say. And yes, you should do something about it. I've heard a story who lost his legs just by cutting and cutting because the wounds won't heal. Me too is lazy to exercise. I've been doing schedules for it then breaking it after a week. So nothing really happens.
Welcome to mylot, miad!!

Hi!
You're not the only one who thinks she's unhealthy. I think I'm unhealthy, too even though I take vitamin C and Iron everyday. I have food allergies and weather allergies which lately I have been experiencing a lot (well, that's probably my fault since I eat foods that I am not supposed to eat) which means I have a weak immune system. I am low blood. I have a UTI according to my Urinalysis (which is probably because I haven't been drinking enough water lately). And I think I easily get tired? I lack exercise. Well, that's what we both need.

From seafoods, too! And then, there's also chickens, eggs and all that. I also get allergies from dust and sometimes, during a hot weather. I don't think constantly eating those foods will make the allergies go away. Maybe you had your allergies when you were still young and you still were able to develop immunity against these high histamine foods. Whereas in my case, I think that won't happen to me anymore. And even if 29 is still young, I don't like getting allergy attacks. It's very difficult and uncomfortable. So I just avoid these kinds of foods.
Maybe you have to do a more regular exercise than your walks in the morning.

From what kind of food do you get allergies? I had some before too. From eating seafoods. But then I keep eating them so now my allergies are gone. I was diagnosed having a UTI before but I think that was just a doctor's mistake as I don't feel anything in relation to it. Well, you should drink lots of water. Every time you flush out fluids from your body, make sure to replace it so drink and drink until it will be gone. Try drinking buko juice too. It's god for UTI.
I get easily tired too maybe because I'm overweight. I do lots of walks every morning before going to work but it doesn't help.

Yes, I have those allergies when I was younger. I love to eat shrimps and crabs and everytime I eat those, I get so itchy then having some lumps. For a few days, my hands' skin peels same with my stomach.
It's so difficult yet I still eat them until one day, poof! Allergies gone. But my asthma, still here and doesn't want to leave me.

What we eat is what we are so if we eat unhealthy foods then we come out unhealthy as well. We also need to have regular workout and to avoid unhealthy habits and lifestyle. If we can do that then we are giving ourselves a big favor, if we can't because we are too lazy or too stiff-necked to follow the right then we can only expect our whole body to go wrong.

I eat healthy foods and veggies and fruits.
I was just having a hard time dealing with my thyroid levels. And I don't what else to do especially with my stomach. They get worse every now and then even though I'm drinking lots of water for the day. Like this afternoon,it got worse, I don't know why. I'm drinking lukewarm water to ease the pain but it didn't work for me. Now, I just finished my dinner and there goes my tummy again.

Hi adnileb: That's really sad. Try to think about the things you can do to stay healthier, because your body is your more precious posession. In my case I've been on a diet and I try to keep in good shape because I used to be a little bit fat. Now I feel healthy but I know I always have to take care for me or noone else will do it for me.

That must be due to algebra. Your teacher caused it all. I had sent you a video link which I don't think you followed and see what happens when you don't listen. You still have time. Your illness can be kept in check - all what you need is to get to like mathematics. Good Luck adnileb!

You sent me a video link? I think I didn't receive it yet.
Yes, I have lots of time but when I cure one of them, another will arise. That's why now, there getting many. I tried the aloe vera but didn't keep my stomach from shutting up and grumbling that's why I had no choice but to stop drinking them. But I love the taste. Only few more researches and this too will end. (hope so)

Woah! That sounds scary and come to think of it, I think my body is getting worse as well. I'm overweight, I don't have a 20/20 vision. On top of that I have a mild case of astigmatism in my eyes. I don't know if I still have goiter, 'cause when I was a teenager, I had goiter, but at an early stage. I used to be asthmatic when I was a kid, still I have a little bit of trouble breathing. I have weak lungs and I easily get colds and cough especially with drastic weather changes,. I was diagnosed with gastritis, had it treated but sometimes, I still feel my stomach aches when I don't eat right. I'm acidic. I always have back aches and I still get allergic attacks once in a while. i feel that my immune system has really gone down, when I started working at my current job.

We're almost have the same situation.
Overweight, impaired vision, thyroid related disease, asthmatic, acidic, and allergic.
I don't easily get infected with flu or colds and cough though. But I know my immune system has gone down too. Well, as for the difficulty in breathing, I can say it's somewhat of a heart problem for me.
So, how do you deal with all those sickness that you have?
Hope we both get better soon.

I try my best to eat right although I'm still having a hard time eating healthy food especially with so many fastfood around me. I try my best though to at least eat a fruit every now and then. I don't eat too much fatty foods unlike before and if I'm not too tired, I walk from the office to my place for a little bit of exercise. Also, I have lessened my drinking of soda and coffee. I hope that we both get well soon and stay fit he rest of our lives.

Are you properly diagnosed by a doctor or just thinking all those illness? If not yet I suggest you really need a thorough medical check-up.If the doctor can't find anything, maybe you are just one of those hypochondriacs who thinks that a little symptom is a cause of a major disease.Being overweight can be caused by hypothyroidism .You need to consult a doctor ,so he can prescribed you appropriate medications for your hormonal problem.

Of course I am not thinking of those!
I was diagnosed 5years ago of irregular TSH and just checked it again last year when I started gaining weight. Same with the heartburn, I have acidic stomach as per the urinalysis' result. The asthma, I have it since I was younger.
Surely I am not thinking of those.

If you want to lose weight you really need to follow the treatment for hypothyroidism. It may be the only cause of your weight problem. If you are suffering from heart burn, you really need to change your diet. You should avoid sour foods even fruits, avoid drinking sodas and highly spicy food.Asthma is mostly triggered by allergens like dust, smoke, pollens strong odors and food allergens. You really need to avoid these allergens to prevent an asthma attack. You can prevent having diseases by maintaining a healthy lifestyle, having a regular medical check up and strengthening your immune system.

Hi adnileb, You are very young to have so much sickness and I feel that you are think about it far too much. If you want to be healthy, you must think healthy thoughts. I am 71 years old and I feel very healthy and hopefully will remain that way for a long time to come. I have two brothers and a sister who are older than me, so I never think of myself as old. Stop thinking about being sick and your body will be much healthier. Blessings.

You should go to the doctor and get a full check up. I have just recently been through all that and I have made a lot of changes in my life for the sake of my health. I have lost 15 pounds and now strictly follow the meds that I have been given, I also eat a lot better and exercise every day. I am working closely with my doctor to get my health perfect.

If I get the chance to meet a very good but cheap doctor for me, I'll get a full check-up. But sadly, I can't seem to find one. The last doctor for my thyroid was a no-no. She didn't even told me anything about do's and don't. After knowing how high my TSH is, I started a broccoli diet. Ate them for a week, three times a day together with chicken. BUT I was shocked when I searched in the internet that broccoli wasn't good for my thyroid which the doctor didn't mention it to me. So now, I'm starting to trust the internet and searching for every possible thing that's good for me.
By the way, what did you do to lose 15 pounds??

If you're overweight, have you ever thought about changing that? You could certainly improve your heartburn if you just looked after your body a little better. And you would feel much better about yourself, too. I have been losing weight for a long time now, and have lost almost four stones. It is amazing just how much better I feel about myself from just that short space of time; and I am so excited about how I am going to feel when I lose the rest of the weight that I have to lose. Losing weight might be the best thing that you have ever done for yourself.

I started gaining weight when my thyroid hormone worsen. And as I am reading lots of articles on how hard hypothyroids are struggling to have a normal weight, I lose hope. But before, every time I lose a kilo, I'm starting to get motivated. But then, it's so depressing. So now, I'm stacked at this.
What was your diet plan?

I have a very good eating habit.
I remember, I had a very healthy diet for a week which consists of steamed broccoli and chicken for three meals. I think that's very healthy BUT it's not because broccoli isn't good for my thyroid. That's why I keep on gaining weight. I can't blame myself and I want to thank the internet. The endocrinologist I asked didn't advise me anything. She said I can eat anything. So, I think she's the one to blame.

Yes, that's an ouch. Gladly, I was still making it through everyday. Asthma attack isn't visiting me regularly so I was just suffering from it when it's hot. As per your advice, I want to eat vegetables, I actually love them BUT unfortunately, those that I love isn't good for my thyroid. Like broccoli, cabbage, potatoes, brussels and a lot more.
See, I am not actually enjoying my life. I want to stay healthy of course, but can't make it enough to be healthy.
