Do you wish you had made more healthy choices at an earlier age.

I think some of us really do. Granted there are going to be times where we realize that there is going to be some changes that need to made. By that point however, it is going to be an uphill struggle for some to get things reversed. I think that over the past several years, I have been rather conscious about my health, and thankfully I am still rather young, so I still have time. There are many people where it doesn't click into their forties or fifties and by that point, a lot of the damage has been done.

Hi megamatt
What has been done, has been done and cannot be undone. I believe whatever was done in the past was done because at that time it was thought to be right (by me). So when today if anything wrong happens because of the past, instead of blaming(as there is nothing that will change due to blaming) I accept it as fate or destiny. But this does give me the courage to avoid the thing that I did in the past and prevent it from repeating.
History cannot be changed but definitely can be prevented from repeating itself

All we can learn is by what we did in the past, that point is very true. Now doing it in the past, hindsight is a wonderful thing. Doing it again, when it has been proven to be wrong, that is really a problem. Then again, we can really make that case for pretty much everything in life. There are a lot of times where we are going to make mistakes, not think they are at times, but then based on the new information that we have gotten, we are going to really realize exactly how slightly off we are going to be.
Then we have to figure out a way to use what have learned and decide where we want to take everything in our life. Take the lessons learned from the past, to try and live in the present solidly, to make a really great future. At least that is what I feel would be the case in many ways. Those are some pretty good points and they are in fact very true to life. Those who don't learn from their past mistakes are doomed to repeat them again and again. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I totally agree with thesids. What has been done is done and we should move on. I'm not sorry for my decisions. At least till now. Who can tell me that if I did differently it would be better for me? Each decision has pluses and minuses and it's up to us to choose which we think is better for us. If it's going to be the right choice only time will show.

I think that the power of the mind is a wonderful thing and if you don't think that it is too late, then for you it is not too late. For another person, it might be too late. For other people, they might really have plenty of time. With each passing year, it is going to get a bit harder and harder to really shed those bad habits. That much is for certain for sure. There are going to be a lot of times where you wished you had started a few years earlier.
Still if people do think its going to be too late, then a lot of the battle is rather lost when you think about it. The mind is a powerful tool and by thinking that you can change, that there is time, it is going to work you through some rather tough times and move you forward. Best of luck to anyone trying to turn their habits around for the better. Its not going to be easy. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Yes getting ourself healthier at an young age is more like an challenge to be accepted. We are always more prone to junk food more fat foods exercise less and something like that. If we take good care and practice exercising regularly then we will surely be healthier at our older age. Also adding to this point have drinking water regularly will give us a good hydrated life later. So concluding it is necessary for us to make healthy choice earlier in our age, which will result in good fruit towards our ending.

Some really great points to be sure. There are a lot of things that are rather attractive to us, that quite frankly are not the best of us. That is really the most frustrating thing about living in a world on the go. People are going to make all kinds of decisions that are not going to be the best of them. It is all about time, and fast food is in fact fast. Not justifying it by any means, but I am just throwing out a reason why people are going to really just be eating not too many healthy foods.
They don't want to expend the effort to make the time or they get frustrated, so that is really another way to fall into some pretty bad habits when one thinks about it. Still there are a number of extremely bad habits out there for sure and hopefully people can pull out of it and do the right thing. Some do, some do not, but hopefully its done before its too late. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I think most of us really do think that we should do the right choices at earlier age.A lot of people now a days regret their past life and think that they should do things appropriately. So better we must think first a lot of times before we do some thing that lead us to regret later on.We should sometimes be wise in choosing the right decisions in life so that we can never blame others or to yourself later on.

A lot of our wrong decisions do have a bit to do with the fact that there was not the awareness for a lot of things leading to long term negative consequences. Now granted a lot of it is known, but some of it in fact was not. Who knows, there could potentially be a few healthy choices that we could be making these days, that could in fact be the wrong choice in this day and age.
Or maybe we have finally figured it out. Granted it is a long stretched. Mistakes are going to be made, that is really the nature of life I think more often than not and there are going to be more people realizing how wrong they were. What you do to correct your mistakes is the true measure of a person in many ways. Just hopefully you are on the way to righting the ship before its too late and that is the sad state of things. For some it really is truthfully too late. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Being healthy is one of the biggest decisions a person makes as they grow older. i am only 20 and i wish i ate a lot healthier then i do now. I am a college student so money is very tight and when i get a dollar to spend its usually a fast food place rather then something like an apple. As i am getting older, i realize that with those decisions i made, im more tired and low energized. i used to dance for my school and being in college for 2 years really affected me. im lucky if i can finish a 20 minute zumba lesson haha. i really wish i took better care of myself but luckily im still young enough that if i can get the money together, i will start at least taking some supplements and multi-vitamins everyday.

I am 18 years old, and when I was in middle school, I used to be overweight. Not obese, but I needed to lose some weight. I'm still young, so I may not be much help in the discussion. But when I was in middle school, I was smart enought to know that I needed to get rid of the problem early, because it would get harder and harder to lose weight the older I got. I know that being overweight is not the only thing you need to take care of to be healthy, but it's the only thing I had to deal with. I was active and played sports, but I was still overweight. I tried motivating myself to lose weight many times, but it didn't actually work until I started thinking about it for myself. Usually, when I thought about losing weight, I thought about.....girls. But over time, I started noticing how I couldn't run as fast or far as the other guys. Now, I am healthy, but my little brother's friends call me, "ripped". I don't really think of myself that way, but I guess I am. The point I am trying to make is that you need to get your life in order, before is starts getting out of control. The older you get, the less control you have. You don't have to be "ripped" to be healthy.

I do wish that I had been healthier when I was younger, because I am very overweight at the moment and have been for the whole of my life. I have lost almost four stones since last October, and have four more to lose before I will be a healthy weight for the first time in my life. I know that this is probably unfair of me, but I blame my parents for the way they fed me when I was a child. I didn't know what was healthy and what wasn't; all that I had to go by were the lessons that they gave me, and I got into those habits because of them. Hopefully I will become less angry with them in the future.

Potentially partially to blame I would have to agree. Of course, I tend to blame a lot of the food companies, for their marketing of certain foods to children. When you really think about it, they are about as responsible for any weight problems that there would be out in this world, as much as anyone else. Still the longer we go, the longer it is. Then again, we're way more educated in many ways about a lot of these choices out there in the world. In many other ways, I think that we still have a lot to learn, as with each passing generation, it becomes something that is being more educated with.
Advances and all of that. I'd imagine that there is something that we are doing now that is actually slowly the process of us actually losing any weight. At least, that's the way that things appear to be, based on advances each generation. Who really does know. It does appear that there are people who really should lose just a little bit of weight. Hopefully it is a lesson that some learn too soon, as opposed to much later. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I am one of those who really think that I should have made better choices looking back right now. I am still young so I have better chances of making cooler choices now. But what I have become as a person today,at present seem a little off, like I am not much satisfied about my success, about why I graduated at some course and how my life is going on about. I can say there's not a single regret but rather dissatisfaction. And I wish I had made healthy choices on some aspects like overeating sweets is so not good and its giving me skin problems right now but I am trying to lessen it now. I am lucky I realized sooner. Some just didn't or gave in to unhealthy choices, like you said too late and damage has been done.

I think that we always think of potential ways to better what we have done in life. Which strictly speaking is a rather good thing, as it gives us perspective on making better choices in the future. The better choices that are going to put us in a better position for the rest of our life. We can't help but think what might have been had we started on this path a few years earlier. Plus there are a number of habits that are really a bit difficult to break when you really think about it. At least when we realize this young, we do have years and years to hopefully right the ship.
There are many people out there who are not that lucky. Of course, we know more now than we did in previous generations and no doubt we are doing some things wrong that are judged to be healthy today, but that is really just the nature of life. All generations do come in cycles and things are going to really change, sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. Still what better place to start righting the ship than the present. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

A lot of those things do really carry through for sure. There are a lot of times where if you get taught in an early age, then it is going to be reflected. Not just healthy habits for the body, but rather healthy habits for the mind a lot of the time such as ready. Still you are more than correct. It is something that is great to encourage these healthy habits for children at a younger age. That way, they can have a rather healthy future, and hopefully it is something to pass on. Still with a lot of things around us, it often does not take as well as we hoped.
Hopefully by they get to the point where they are making the choices on their own, they are making the choices that would be more than correct in many ways. That is really something that we are all hopeful with. Granted, its something that does have to be started young as you said. So it can build a foundation for a great life later on. Sadly, this doesn't really work out as well sometimes, but the theory is sound. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.
