Most specially if the person cheated on you...
I had no Idea such radio Station exist..No, it's not the radio station that i was shocked but it's one of the programs. usually in my locality, we would hear normal LOVE stories about relationship here and there.
But there was this cool Radio station in UK. You write them a letter about the cheating, leave the number of your partner that is about to be "dump" and then let the host call them and the "announce" the dumping..
I wonder what would have happened if this was done in my country (phew). but there is a down side to this part of the program, it's either the story was fake or the dumping is real with REAL humilation mode coming from the radio station...
not a referral linK (sample)

LetranKnight25,
What can they think of next?
In Taiwan, they actually had a reality program that actually tail the cheater like a P.I. and broadcast it across the country for everyone to see.
I doubt if this radio broadcast would have the same effect as the television but I just feel that like the television, it is over excessive and lame. So, there's a cheater and someone is hurt but other than a breakup, there will need to be a recovery and closure for the other party.
Going through the radio to announce a breakup is not right and would not solve anything. Especially, when the other party might not be listening in or a radio listener of that particular program. On the other hand, I believe it is personally between both parties and nobody else.

Hello skysuccess.
The television is a lot worse because there is youtube. people who can record their shows in the internet TV, and puts it in youtube, it would be permanent humiliation through out their remaining days of their lives. now, that i think about it i believe that it's fair and good to break it off in private since it's their life anymways.

Hi!
Wow, that's really something. If that's true I think it's too much. Why would someone reveal a very personal matter to the public? What happened between them is supposed to be a private matter. Yeah, the cheater deserved to be punished but I think, that's not a good way to punish that person. Proposing in public is touching and can be quite embarrassing but that's still something good. While dumping someone on-air and letting a DJ do it, I think that's ridiculous.
If this was fake, then I think what the radio station is doing is pathetic.

Releasing anger is good for the health. But to do it in the expense of others? I think it's just so shameful.

Hello secretbear,
Yes, and what if the person didn't cheat and only WANTS to humiliate the partner before they broke up with. well, that's not going to happen in my country because there's no way a cheater would give their number or answer to a stranger. it's indeed ridiculous, but for them it's justified because this is their form of releasing anger.

It is very hard sometimes to dump or break up with someone. I would not do it publicly and let the world know my business.

hello steph,
I think the heart bears a lot when breaking up with some one; the memories, moments together, all that won't be continued because things has got to end.i agree with you that it should be just noted it to be private.

I wonder if that happens in our country since we are very conservative, a little. That was a humiliation and I myself, do not know what will i feel if I am the one who heard it. I know a certain radio station here in the Philippines that has that kind of or similar to that one and its on Star FM during morning. i do not know if it is still airing , I mean the show. I am irritated because they are making fun of other people's feeling. I hate it.

Hello grecy,
I really doubt it's going to happen. because first, people are at work, then phones are mostly silent. usually stories about love and that. well, that's no good for a show, but there are other radio shows that does the same. but this one in my discussion has mostly give those really heart brokened for a chance of sweet revenge

It is harsh and cruel enough to dump someone or to be dumped by them. Airing this for the woreld is just demeaning to both parties. this should be a private matter because feelings are important.

Hello sender,
Yes, I think these people didn't consider the consequences of their actions. hard to accept and the humiliation maybe too severe for some one who is supposed to be closing the relationship the right way.. but i guess you can't help it because people can be too emotional.

Wow, I have never heard of that before. I don't think I could personally ever do that, but hey if the person cheated you know what he or she probably deserved to be humiliated publically anyways.

Hello fabs,
Well, It's good that i have shared this with you because it's really shockingly different. It really depends on the girl though, some girls probably did that out of promotion or to keep her job. but a cheat is a cheat and the guy couldn't believe it. so he gave his last message i guess to that woman.

I don't think that I would ever even think about doing that, no matter what the person in question had done to me. I wouldn't want my friends and family to have to hear everything that I had been going through; let alone the thousands of other listeners who don't even know who I am or what I'm all about. You should talk through your problems and if you wish to break up then that's fine, but it's a personal choice and there's absolutely no reason to involve anybody else other than the two of you when you make that final decision.

hello Gemmar,
not only the friends who'd hate the cheater but the family members too. i think some people can't face their partners to reconcile and just for the sake of hating and revenge. that person would be humiliated and she or he won't have that much courage to move on because even her or his own friends wouldn't hang out with this person.

hello LK,
Wow...if this ever happened here in our country,i guess there could be less cheaters hahahhaha...
I wish that famous DJ and his famous nightly program ever do this thing...i am sure many wives will be happy and half population of husbands out there will be after the DJ... (to kill him for airing the cheatings)

Hello Sis-Jaiho,
I agree with you, unfortunately Filipinos whether it be woman or man, would seek revenge if they get humiliated like that. they might even consider suing the DJ for it or hired to have him killed. well, we are a lot more worse as well when it comes to cheating, and some can be pretty good liars. have a nice day

Hi Letran.
We had a radio station here that for several years had two disc jockeys who had a weekly segment like this. Wow, though it might have seemed funny, it was so shocking to hear the radio jockeys call up and dump for the person, who requested.
At first they would start out as a gag that so and so asked they call because they knew the person. Then as they made the caller feel comfortable they would tell them that so and so said to be dumped, some actually thought it was a joke. There were especially women who cried terribly after hearing the news. This segment of the show was very popular here and many requested it. It was not really funny, it was way too sad to hear the way they did.
I don't know why they stopped but do know that the disc jockey's were fired from the station as this was not the only thing they did for laughs.

hello hardworkinggurl,
It's funny for other people because they want to see others humiliated because they are also having a sick and sad part of lives they're living in. so, by hearing or seeing this humiliation from others, they realized others are having a lot more embarassment and it makes them happy and laugh. that's a fact for most people and sad reality too

I don;'t think I would. this kind of things I would like to keep them in private and If I wanted to dump someone no matter the reason I would tell him face to face...no need to get to this kind of things in my opinion

Hello swissheart,
That's right for you. but in this situation, i guess the man wanted also revenge and humiliation to the girl. which i know it's not worth in the long run. some times we need to have friends even though those people becomes our ex's now. besides, relationship shouldn't drag the friends you have established. unless you got stabbed in the back.

Hello bhabycatch,
I have watch that series too on youtube and it is indeed quite humiliating because you are BUSTED in camera with the person seeing you cheat. i have watch a few episodes though some are heart breaking, while most are funny. but such show wouldn't exist if there was no cheating

Hello Even, that's the problem, unlike the tv show cheaters, this is done audio only. so, we never know whether such acts really exist or if the person requesting was telling the truth and all.
