I want to know peoples honest opinions. I for one know that my 16 year old self would run out screaming. I'm happy being a mom of three boys and my low key career. But when I was 16 i was out not only to see the world but conquer it. Be rich and powerful and exciting. Life is pretty much routine but content in only the way someone 30 something could understand. I couldn't even start to explain to my 16 year old self how I was happy and why, she wouldn't want to hear it. She'd be too busy asking where her mansion is. lol How about you?

This is a great topic! I'm not sure of the answer myself at the moment because it will take a while to come to terms with the situation.
I think I would be shocked that I actually managed to do so much when every one told me that I would never amount to anything. I would also be disappointed at my present appearance. Definitely surprised about how much of the world I have traveled. I really can't imagine what my 16 year old self would think of my wife!
Hmmm, I'm going to be thinking about this all night!

I started this topic because its one of the random topics my hubby and thought up and debated. So I thought it would be cool to hear other peoples opinions. For the record my hubby said his 16 year old self would probably cry at the sight of me, LOL. Which is a fair comment. I'm cute and attractive but for 30+ LOL. He thought when he was 16 his wife would look like a super model, lol.

I guess my 16 year old self would beat the hell out of me. When I was 16 I had so many plans: meet beautiful women, have a nice job, be successful in general but life as we know it, really doesn't turn out the way we plan it, not one bit. When we were kids we have a lot dreams but as we grow up, we inadvertently waste those dreams exploring the world. I guess that's one of the reasons why we don't get to live out wishes, at least that's why I think I'm what I am right now. I'm still young though so I don't think it's already too late for me.

When I was 16 I wanted travel around for the rest of my life and I wanted to have very, very few material possessions so that it would be easy to travel from place to place. I didn't want to stay in the same city or the same country for a long time, and I wanted to be single and independant. Today I am 34, I am married, I own a house and many material things, and I plan on staying on the same island for a very long time, maybe even for the rest of my life
If my 16 year old self saw the person that I am today and the choices I have made she would probably be shocked. I love the life that I have today, but it is very different from the life that I imagined when I was 16.

I think she'd be a little disappointed that I'm stuck in a crap job that I hate, only writing in the wee hours of the morning and for peanuts... and more importantly that I'm living here. I wanted nothing more when I was 16 (29) than to be as far away from this place as possible but I just can't seem to make it happen.
But at the same time, the singer/songwriter and touring guitarist of my favorite band (and not just a local band, fairly big, they've toured all over world) know me and talk to me on Twitter and Facebook. The singer even recognizes me on the street (not sure about the guitarist, haven't gotten the chance to meet him face to face yet)....so about that I think she'd be pretty impressed.

I am not sure of the 16 year old. But my neighbour a six year old obviously wanting to befriend me comes to my gate and asks about how I taught my dog to play with the ball. She says she too likes birds and animals and gardening and flowers. Smart young girl indeed. Knows how to win me over!

Wow! What a great discussion! My 16 year old self would thin that I am really old! My life is centered on my work and family. My 16 year old life was centered around horseback riding and riding in my boyfriend's car. I didn't have a care in the world. I remember how slow time went by, and now how my life seems to be in fast forward.

Of course there is no way to predict the future, but looking back I can see that my 16year old self laid the foundation for how my life has run. I cannot change the past nor can I see what would have happened if I had made any changes. Life is best lived in the NOW what little control we do have is there.

I think the sixteen year old me would be really proud of the appearance I've managed to keep. I think I've always been really critical of myself and as destructive as it is, it honestly helps. I don't think she'd be happy about how boring my life has become. I don't go out with friends much. I'm also a health nut, so she'd be pretty upset that she couldn't eat half her favorite foods anymore. Although, when I was sixteen I wanted to become an English teacher and now I'm in college for medicine. So there have been improvements. Overall, I think she'd be pleased with how I've turned out.
