Animal Cruelty, it really makes me sick

Late, I have stumbled to some sites that shows how other people maltreated the animals. In China, there is a woman who have roasted a puppy alive, A golden retriever is also skinned alive.. In other western country, raccoons are being skinned alive. What is more bothering about his is that they have guts to show their acts to the public where even children are watching. I can't possibly understand what pleasure do this act gives to them. I mean, animals also have lives and they to are created by our God, but some people do not value the animal lives. What are your thoughts about this. Also what do you thinks should be the punishment for this people..

I've seen a lot of this in the news lately and it really breaks my heart. Just recently, I saw this poor puppy hanged in the tree. Poor little puppy. What the heck is on the mind of the people doing this? If you are not an animal lover, it's okay but let them live because they are also like people who can be hurt. Greatest punishment, I guess what they did to the animal should be done to them also so they'll now the feeling.

Well, better for him to get sued. It is about time that people learned how to treat animals in the right way.

Good for him but I think the PAWS is really determined to sue him for what he did. His apology isn't enough though the puppy wasn't harmed.

I've seen this news in the TV too. It was even shared on the internet. The perpetrator, I believed, had made a public apology for his stupid stunt. I think he's just trying to showcase entertainment and humor by doing that highly ridiculous act. Needless to say, he was sensational but on a "negative" light. It is fortunate though that the puppy was not greatly harmed and is still alive up to this day.

Disgusting, isn't it? We go on living our lives, not giving a thought to the fact that we are responsible for the life-long torture & murder of over eight times our own population of animals killed to please our palates every year. Unless you are vegan, you are actually torturing animals with every meal you eat. Every animal you eat is tortured brutally & for no good reason. The only way to stop this life-long torture is to boycott these "products". You contribute to these practices with every dollar you give to the industries. Governments provide these horribly inefficient (0.01% efficient!!!) industries with very generous subsidies & allow this form of legalized murder to continue all day, every day & can't "punish" them because it's called something different: Standard Industry Practice! Lawful killing & lawful torture for the whole life of the animal, not just for a short video. One law for one type of animal, like cats & dogs that are owned & yet another completely different rule for another type of animal - intelligent, loving creatures with every bit as much soul as your pets. You can't be serious! One one hand you condemn what has been done to these animals & on the other hand you condone & support & fund the livestock industries who brutally murder after a lifetime of torture of over 424 billion (2005 statistics, it's much more these days) innocent, intelligent & loving animals every single year. Hypocrites, the lot of you! For shame! And then you go out & bash vegans on forums like these, who are the only ones with guts enough to actually "walk the talk", "practice what they preach" & put good sentiment, noble intentions and sympathetic thoughts & feelings into positive action! It is not good enough anymore just to want change. You must be the change you want to see in this world. No more idle talking. If you are truly compassionate, then show it in your actions. The killing of animals, cruelty of the same & the killing of humans all go hand in hand. No killing is humane. While there are faster & more efficient, cleaner means to bind (or not!), put down & carve up an animal, it does not make it any better to end in an untimely manner those whose lives you did not nor cannot create - that right to create & destroy belongs to the one who can create & destroy the same being in an instant. We are here to bless this world with our creative power & not to kill. People are not inherently cruel, it is very much due to the environment they are in. The killing of animals & eating of their flesh cannot be reconciled with a peaceful, non-violent nature. The two are polar opposites. So-called mercy killing is different again from killing just to please our palates. The motives are entirely different. Though I believe there are always options available not to end the life of another, it is just that vets or doctors, together with the wishes of the people concerned, do not have the means nor knowledge / capability, etc to pursue those options. It is hypocritical to kill one type of animal to consume their flesh & keep another type of animal as your pet & at the same time advocate animal welfare & condemn animal cruelty when these very people are breeding it! If there was no eating of meat, there would be no breeding for slaughter. Why kill any animal just to please your palates? There are a huge variety of more nutritious, more cost effective, more environmentally friendly alternatives available. What makes a cow or a pig any less beautiful or intelligent or useful than a dog? Studies in recent times have been published showing the animals you are consuming are even more intelligent, loving, loyal & peaceful than your pets. You ask about the punishment for the crime of videoing & publishing a mutilated pet? Let's get it into context first, then dish out punishments according to how long you have forced any animal to suffer before inhumanely killing it & encouraging others, even your own children, to do the same.

You have a point there. That is why i was also regretful for being omnivorous in the past. Recently, I have started an advocate that I should only eat vegetables (not only it will make me healthy). Thank you for enlightening me again.

I can't see people showing these kinds of acts on television unless they are just trying to show the things that people do. Is it supposed to be people bragging about what they have done or is it like the government showing the things that they are trying to prevent? If the animals are alive when they are being cooked or skinned that is just plain cruel and inhumane! The least they could do is kill the animal first if they want to skin or cook it! I don't know why people would do this, but they should have something done to them. I wouldn't skin them or anything like that, but I might just beat them like they do in some countries (caning) or just go back to the days of putting them in stocks in order to humiliate them or something.

If is about people bragging about what they have done, then they are plainly sick. If it the government showing this thing so that tell people to prevent doing this then isn't it ironic? I mean they could have show how to prevent animal cruelty in other ways, not this way. It might provoke other to do the same, don't you think? Thanks for you comment

I do think it is ironic that they show bad things to prevent bad things. Some people are predisposed to doing bad things and they just need the trigger of seeing someone else doing it. I'm not sure the best way to show animal cruelty without actually showing it in action, but I'm sure there is a way. I just hope that the people who put out shows that show such things take into consideration the fact that it might encourage others to copy what they have seen rather than stopping it from happening. Have a great week!!!

I read that news in yahoo and visit the blog where this news coming from. There are many comments on that particular issue... It is not bad if the woman roasted the puppy dog if she killed the puppy first as natural...

Well, In my opinion. Not a bad to eat those animals. Because they are given by God for us to eat them. Since they are not prohibited by Law. Those animals did cannot be eaten here in the Philippines, due to some reasons...

Even if he kills first the puppy before roasting it, i think it will still bad. Here in the Philippines, dogs are not one of the animals that can be eaten by human.

It is truly disturbing to witness animal cruelty. It is sad that we are human and yet we are doing inhuman acts to animals. It is unthinkable but it is indeed true that some people took pleasure into doing such horrible things. I say no to animal cruelty!

Yes it is true that it is sad to see such act. But we should know that not all human are like that. There are still some that are doing whatever they can to save the animals from cruelty.

It is commendable to have people around who take pains defending the animals against human cruelties. Either way, people doing these acts should be penalized heavily.

OMG I can't believe people would do such a thing it makes me sick to my stomach! When I hear about those things, I say they should get skinned alive or roast alive get whatever they did to the animal get done to them so they can see how it feels. I can't hurt an animal, if it has a bug in my house I take it outside an d free it :). The other day it had a baby bird in my garden (looked like it feel out its nest) and I told my husband to pick it up and put it back in its nest he didnt want too. I said imagine if that was our baby would you leave himm there so he can get eat up by the cats, of course he said no. then he picked him up and put him back in the nest.

Well, unfortunately, there are people who find pleasure in beating the animals. Let just hope that one day, this act could be stopped. At the moment, what we can do is not to imitate their deeds. And also we should teach our children to have a respect for all animals.

I think that any kind of cruelty towards animals is absolutely sick and those that perpetrate this heinous crime should be named and shamed and then tortured! These are harsh views but all the same there's no excuse for animal cruelty whatsoever! I love animals and I think they are special and they are here for a reason! I'm so sensitive to this kind of thing and I do believe in the idea of what goes around comes around. Those that torture and mistreat animals well, the time will come when they will really suffer at some point in their own miserable lives. I know we are talking about animals here but all the same, if I see a fly buzzing at my kitchen window then I open the window and permit it to escape. It's just a fly isn't it? Well, that doesn't matter. All creatures have a life to live and they shouldn't be killed, mistreated or tortured in any way. As things stand I don't bother watching some of those movies that are shown on the Internet as I think some of them are far too graphic in nature. I just don't understand the mentality of those that are happy to watch animals suffer, there's no point to it at all. Andrew

This is with regard to a kid who hanged his puppy in the clothesline. I dont get why some people still defends them like " this is a petty issue, he is just a kid" jeez, what kind of thinking is that? We all went through childhood, I went through that age of that kid. Hanging my puppy in the clothesline NEVER EVEN CROSSED MY MIND! So, he couldnt be excused because he is a kid. I hope he gets imprisoned for 5-6 YEARS! He should learn. I dont really care if he is a kid. He should be responsible for his own actions. So that next time, he will learn to THINK and USE his HEAD first, before doing something really STUPID!

Although we humans had been set above animals, it is still not enough reason that we abuse animals. If they have done nothing harm, then we should leave them alone. I totally agree with you. God has made us steward of the living world and being a good steward includes being kind to animals..

I think those who commit such horrible acts don't deserve to be called humans, not even animals;they are nothing but heartless beasts whose behavior has no justification.I also think those individuals have serious mental problems, because a normal person couldn't find any pleasure in harming innocent animals. As for the punishment,I think they deserve tom go to jail, although some of them might fit better in a madhouse, but in this case I would put them in the same pavilion with the most dangerous lunatics.

Yes, human that do such act have some mental disorder. Sometimes their depression take a toll out of them and they look for something that they can release this depression unto. Unfortunately for some, they release it by beating harmless animals. It is really sad.

its really painful to hear such kind of incident. i also have a dog but i will never do this to him. animals are the precious gifts of nature and animals are also the part of our life and we are also depenedent on animals directly or indirectly. i think their should be strict laws should be made to avoid this kind of incidence.cheers.

it is truly cruelty to hurt living things. although almost similar processes are being done for animals that are being eaten. but what makes the acts more abominable is that they show them to the public. i condemn the acts but i am not sure of the punishment that is right for these people. i am more affected when it is a human being that is hurt or maltreated.

Animal cruelty is becoming more serious and frequent now. I wonder if it's due to stress and those people are taking it out on defenceless animals? If that's their reason, i feel really sad for them, because they have really low self esteem, degrading themselves with such tortures to animals. When people are that low, punishments should be high profile, caning them, jailing them or even hanging them. A life for a life.

You have a good point there Sanitary, It could be one of the reason why other people hurts animals.

Hi, Hmm ... I can not think much about these cases, too complicated to be used as food for thought for me, if you say animals have the right to life, then what about the pig, chicken, or beef? Maybe they also have the right to live as God's creatures. And rats, mosquitoes, flies, spiders, do not they also animals? Then where lies the fault? This is more focused on emotional factors alone I think. Because maybe the dog is a pet that is common to humans, as has been aligned to be friends with humans.

hi, i think those poeple who wanted to watch it are those people who brutal attitude, and maybe this kind of brutality give them happiness and contented, i am anti to those people who do that kind of brutal killing, and for me the punishment to them is to do what they did to the animal to feel the pain they did.

yeah... people are pretty cruel to animals, and some times they get enjoyment out of killing them. Some of those people should die. And it's not only the people. It's also the "big" companies that do that: i found this site recently called http://meatvideo.com/ where a television channel showed some investigations on how american food industrys kill their animals cruelty. If you are suscepticle to this "lots of blood" type videos, i dont recomend you seing this.
