Here in my country, decades ago when a girl reaches the age of 30 and still single, she's often been kid/bullied to marry the first guy whom she meets outside.
And tagged as "left by the last trip"
Here's one story that made me start this topic.
Jenny is on her late 30's and always been the center of teasing in their office.
She's pretty and never had a boyfriend, she's a real shy type girl, that's maybe the reason why guys are also aloof to court her.
Then...one day, this new hired employee noticed about this and out of the blue offered Jenny to MARRY him.
Yes...ROY proposed to Jenny impromtu.(spur of the moment)
To their office mates amazement,Jenny said "yes"
To make the story short..they got married and happily married for more than 30 years now.
"I asks the couple (ROY AND JENNY) how does it happen and what did they feel
Jenny says...actually i said yes because i had a a crush in him the first day he joined us in our department.
Roy said...honestly ,i pitied her everytime she's been teased/kid and bullied by our officemates, it's "MERCY" that drives me to marry her,and knowing she's a good person,I tell myself,it won't be hard for me to learn to love her.
Indeed...they are happily married for 30 years now, with 2 kids and 2 grand kids.
Take note...ROY is younger of 8 years than Jenny.

Hi jaiho!
Wow,what a love story! Love can really make the impossible possible! I'm glad they are living happy now knowing that Roy just pitied Jenny. It will really hurt Jenny if Roy would have fooled her since Roy is her first suitor, first love and everything that is first, hehe! I am happy for Jenny!

hello cutie kid,
I was really amazed about their love story.
It just begun with pity from Roy and Jenny being desperate (hahaha)
I am sure it's love that made them decide ...maybe it sounds "impromtu" but deep inside their hearts, love is already there..just need the right time to flourish and voila...it did!
have a great weekend dear

Maybe I'm crazy, but I don't find that story to be romantic or inspiring or positive at all. I think it's horrifying and just plain awful.
First of all that a woman is persecuted for not being married by a certain age. It's no one's d@mn business what her relationship status is. It's horrible for a culture to condone and encourage this juvenile behaviour.
Secondly, he proposed to her out of PITY and just figured he could LEARN to love her? That's so NOT romantic that is' outright insulting. If a man ever did that to me, I'd tell him exactly where he could shove his pity proposal.
And finally I think it's just sad that the poor woman had to settle for marrying her crush just to stop being bullied in her work place. Much less that he only proposed to her out of pity.
This whole story just makes me sick.

jaiho2009 - Thanks, you too ^_^
LetranKnight25 - Because this is a public forum and I have a right to voice my opinion on any subject I choose.
Furthermore, I don't see how treating women with equal respect as individual human beings is "too liberated".

why respond when it makes you sick, ignoring it has always been the best option? from where you came from that doesn't happen because you guys were too liberated. so, please i beg to differ, just ignore something that makes you sick

Thank you so much for sharing again.
Wait for one day more, Dada' student has gone to Guruji, with cell phone, Guruji will provide more details soon.
Here the husbands are usually older than wives, though exceptions are there always.
All that matters is love and care, the emotions, youth doesnot last longer
I will go rest too
Dada is snoring, the med given to him has some thing i guess
Blessings from me and Dada.

Wow!! This is amazing, and proves how sometimes a relationship can last and you may not have ever thought. Many times there are people that marry for arrangement reasons and it ends up working out. But to ask someone because you feel Sorry for them, but still together 30 yrs. later and Happy now that is what True Love and commitment is all about.

hello KH,
It's really one of the good love story i've ever known in real (not from a novel)
Seeing the couple in person and listening from them how their story started really inspires me,that love really moves in mysterious ways.
Thanks for your response and have a great weekend

Hi jaiho: I think that was a lovely story. Sometimes i think that love arrive in the less expecting circumstances, like for example this one. So basically they were mean to live together, the p0roblem is that they haven't talked to eachother and tehy could be a good couple. Thanks to this special circumstance the guy felt brave enbough to ask her to get married. I think he was wise and he has learnt to love her. That's lovely.

hello Alvaro,
The couple are happy living for 30 years now and their two kids already has family of their own and have kids also.
Love really moves in mysterious ways and we never know when love comes.
For some people..it comes unexpectedly when they thought there is no love.
For some it comes the moment they stop searching for it.
Thanks for your response and have a great weekend dear

I think that's really sweet, my parent always said its not love what made marriage last but friendship the couple made in the way. I think basically the married is really deep friendship.
I think this day its OK if a woman much older than man one of my aunt married to a man who younger 10 years than hers. Its not big matter if you ready with what will you dealing in the future.

hello nangisha,
Yes,age doesn't matter when it comes to love.
I don't see any reason to make age as big deal...it's love and love always that matters.

Hi sis!!
What a goooood story~ I really like it~ No matter if others say they could not believe or sick of it I do believe such a love story. Why?? Because I have heard about the same story but different people of course and like yours they were happily married more than 20 years. The same reason why the husband marry her~ Why not?? I don't see that mercy as something insulting nor lowering the women status or level. If they can live together for that long of time I am sure their love works. With that mercy too I am sure they both can live together till the end of their lives.

hello CTH,
Yes dear sis..some people never believed that great love story are just around.
The Shakespeare's love story are inspired from true love stories, from simple people just around our neighborhood.
Love really is the main reason why the couple agreed to marry each other.
Yes,there was this "mercy" pity in the first place..but it's really "love" that binds them together and that made their relationship lasts till now.
thanks for your response and have a great weekend dear

Hi Jaiho,
if both are thinking the same, then day... month... year.. then one fine day life...
so any one of them have to come forward to wish, what they have desire, to the concern person, then only it will go head.
if you didn't inform that, they it will be a waste of time..

hello red,
You are right...Jenny is so lucky and Roy for being mature.
But i still believed that...they were really destined for each other.
Or else, the marriage won't succeed and lasts...they learned to love each other in the real meaning of it.
have a great weekend ahead

Hi jaiho,
Its really a nice story but one thing which i got surprised to read that ROY married JENNY just to rescue her from officemates.
No i think he was also got attracted by her but he is not accepting it as one can not marry one just for this reason. But anyway all's well that ends well its nice to hear that they are happily married since last 30 years wish them good luck.

hello sjvg,
Actually, there is already attraction between the two.
They were attracted to each other and that makes the whirlwind love affair successful.
30 Years of happy marriage is enough proof that love really moves in mysterious ways.
Thanks for your response and have a great weekend

hello wzm,
I've read a very good story that happens in China actually.
It's almost same ...the guy is younger for many years ,but it's never a hindrance for a great love story.
I guess the story is called "steps made from love" or stairs of love.
thanks for your response and have a great weekend ahead
