Growing up I always hear that peanuts are the food for the brain. I really like eating peanuts not because it is "good for the brain" rather for the reason that I enjoy eating it. Now I understand that there is indeed food for the brain but it is not peanuts- it's chocolate. Actually anything that contains glucose. Glucose upon ingestion of the body is converted to energy, and energy is needed for our mind and body in order to work. So if you are in a situation that requires great physical and mental strength never forget to bring your sweet supplement with you. Any other brain food you know?

Really? Chocolate is also a food for the brain? I like peanuts too, not for it being a brain food, but also for the taste and the fiber it has. They say that nuts will not make you fat because they are fibrous. Now, i have another "brain food" among my favorites. Am sorry, but i don't know any other "brain food" anymore.

Hi there lazybug. I remember back in my college days how chocolates, nuts and coffee helped me get through the night while studying or I must say cramming for an important examination the next day. I can eat like a lot of nuts and chocolates and I prefer them to chips. My friends would have chips with them when studying but I like eating peanuts and chocolates. One of my friends told me that it is better to eat apples when studying since it contains glucose as well that help our brain work and also because it is much healthier than a bag of chocolates and greasy peanuts.

Thats the best news i've heard all day. More choccies for me then! I do think glucose give you a pick me up but i personally think that omega 3 found in fish and some vegtables is much better for the brain also foods like spinach is good for the body. and much better than glucose for long term. Nuts are great brain food i think they contain omega 3 too so they are good for your brain.

Protein is great brain food! A food documentary I saw a year ago talked about food and civilization. One of the things the presenter said was that people started getting smarter when they started eating pork. Aside from pork, salmon is a great too. It's rich in omega 3 and it boosts your brain power! I had a LOT of salmon the other week. I felt stimulated but in my brain! I'm all for chocolate too, but as long as it's dark chocolate!

When my son was born,my grandmother always tell me that i should give my son ripe banana, because its a brain food.So from my son was small he just love eating ripe banana's. Now my son eat a lot of ripe banana sometimes he eat like per day ,he just love it.They said that banana is high in potassium,so that it help the brain to transmit messages. Other food that are brain food are walnut, salmon, squash because these are high in omega and nutrients. But banana can provide a lot of energy, and also help our nervous system too.So banana is perfect for the brain.

I used to go for peanuts before but I stopped since it is hard for me to control my cravings for it. When I eat peanuts, I eat a lot of it. It does not do me good since the next day for sure I will paint on the joint of my fingers. I think that anything sweet is good for the brain.

I think the best brain food is spinach because it has a lot of iron in it which is essential for the good functioning of the brain and yes peanuts are also a great brain food.
