How Do You Keep Track Of Your Friends Discussions

and if you have responded back to them or not? Personally sometimes I wish there was an easier way, but I do try and respond back when I can to new discussions that my friends start of they come to my Inbox, as when I have time and find ones I am interested in responding back too as well. One thing I do know that is about the Best way for now to keep track of discussions that my friends have started here, is to Rate them as I respond back to them. This helps keep track of whether I have responded back to the discussion or not. I think it would be easier if there was a way myLot could change the color on a discussion that we have responded back too just like they do with Email, that way we would know just what we might have missed. But personally I find it an excellent way to get to know your friends better and be able to relate more with everyone as well. Since there are so many people posting in here from all over the World you can never go wrong trying to respond. Yes, there will never be enough time in a day to respond back to all, nor would you want to as well. Just as long as you remember to have Fun while you're here makes it all worth while. ~~TINA~~

Hi Tina~ I leave it to my email box. The box job is to keep all the alert and notifications about my friends discussions. Sometimes I bookmark the page if I need to leave the site. I have noticed some of my friends who will respond to me in a short minute so I will make sure the tab is still open and if I need to leave I will save it so just in case if I want to see in a future or continue the discussion.

Well for me since I have times where my time online and in here seems to be so limited that I have no other choice but to respond back to my friends New discussions from my Email. So unless they are responding back to my New discussions and I have time to find a New discussion of theirs I have not responded back too yet, it helps me keep track so I do not miss out on any.

Yes, when I feel lazy to save the discussions I just leave to my email only. It depends whether they responding back to me or myself get to their discussions manually. But it takes time so I leave to the notifiers I get from my email.(^^)

Yes, I know when I am sending the myLot discussions to my folder in my Email the only way I ever delete them is when I have either made sure I responded back to them if interested in doing so, or not wanting to respond back. Even if I have 1000s of unread and unkept up discussions it will always give me something to do.

If it is one that I really want to watch, I leave it in my email and keep going back to check. Most of the time, I reply, if I can and that is all. I am not sure if there is an easier way.

For me the easiest especially when I do not have the time to be active here, is have them being sent to my Inbox in my Email and then putting them all in a Folder and getting to them as I have time. Usually way behind as I have a lot of friends but much easier for me this way for sure.

You make it sound so hard. I get all my responses sent to my email and answer them there. If it is a really good answer I do go ahead and give it a BR but if not I let it go until I do. I have alot that haven't gotten a BR yet. Alot of people are going back to some really old posts of mine so I am waiting on ones I just don't feel has gotten the best response yet. I answer all the responses that come to my email daily and usually go to the site for more.

Yes, I also am way behind on giving out BR on a lot of my discussions so many people could still go in and respond back to the discussions they have never responded in, and still have a chance to earn the BR. I also have a lot of friends here and limited time so I do what I can when I can to try and keep up.

Hi Tina! I usually get the notifications but the way I really like to do it is go to the friends started tab. If I can stay ahead of that 10th page, I am doing good. I am usually pretty good about it..the farthest behind that I get is maybe page 8. If I get caught up, I answer people who are not on my friends list who have participated in previous discussions. I usually don't have much time for any others after all that..lol.

Wow!! Either you do not have that many friends who are actively starting New discussions you are interested in responding back too, or have a lot of time to be here keeping up with everyone. I have used the Friends started tab myself but keep a seperate folder in my Email for myLot new discussions as well.

Because of the fact that I don't spend as much time on here as I used to, I simply use the tab where I can look at the discussions that my friends have started and I try to respond to as many of those as I can. I used to try to respond to every discussion that my friends had started, but that isn't something that I am able to devote the time to anymore. I also do rate the discussions as well, but that is mostly so I don't stumble onto them at sometime in the future and respond to them again.

Yes, it is hard to keep active in here with all the discussions that all of my friends are starting. Many times there are days I am hardly on here, as well as the times I am on here quite a bit. All I know is that if it were not for my Email on all the discussions many of my friends are choosing to start I would be way behind for sure.

I use the notify me in my email and have a few that are on my regular friend notify list and respond to their. However there are some discussions that I do not know that well and some I am uncomfortable and do not want to see "I am a dummy" about that discussion. And there are those that I do not have enough time in the day. There are some discussions I started that I would like to have help on, and often wonder if some of my friends are thinking "well I will not answer hers unless she answered mine," But frankly I would rather have someone look up a link and give the information then have someone say I don;t know find out for me." Yes that really bugged me on another forum when I was looking for advice on a particular problem and so were a lot of other people. That was years ago.

Personally I have never been I will answer theirs only if they answer mine, but I do know the ones that tend to respond back to more of mine often are the ones I end up responding back too more. I also do not respond back to every discussion a friend starts here. There are many I could never relate with. But being able to follow and respond back to so many is a plus for sure.

Yes...this is a fun place to visit everyday....I usually keep my friends discussions in my inbox for a couple of weeks....then I delete them after I am sure I have answered them! That's the easiest way for me to deal with them!

Well I go thru and try to respond back to my Friends new discussions they have started that are in my inbox as I have time, and I am also busy keeping up and responding back as my friends are responding back to one of my discussions respoending back to one of theirs.

I don't worry about keeping track of the discussions as long as I can remember what the story is and knowing it's a continuing thing, I do alright. As far as the discussions go, I do them as they come in. For an example, I'm really behind right now so I'll start with the older ones first and then continue on that way till I get them all done. I started out with about 70 or more discussions and now I'm guessing I'm down to around 50. I'm trying to answer as many as I can all the while, keep my life's work on the right track too. Not easy to do but I'm doing it.

There have been times actually I have wanted to just go Friend by Friend and respond back to all of the discussions they have ever started that I am interested in responding back too, but this would put me further and further behind in keeping up with the others here starting great discussions as well.

Almost every time i log into mylot i participate in the discussions. I like to see which conversations my friends have started and reply to anything i can help with or that is of interest. I don't answer all of my friends discussions. I think that would be impossible as i have mny friends with many discussions. But i like the interaction of talking with friends and there are some peoples discussions stand out over others because i enjoy their writting style or sense of humour. I think i should check ou the friends started conversations and responded pages next to see what my friends have been up too.

Yes, it is sometimes quite hard to keep up with everyone, especially the days you do not have the time to keep up due to not feeling the Best, or having other things in life get in the way. But being able to respond back to your friends while allowing yourself to meet others is what it is all about.

E-mail notifiers... Once the e-mail is deleted I have responded to the discussion, or decided that I have nothing to say...

I do respond to any discussion that comes to my inbox that I am interested in. Some of them are not interesting to me and I just delete them, but others are really interesting and I respond to them before deleting the email. What I find frustrating is if I respond to a comment in one of those messages, I have no way of finding out if the other person responded to me because mylot doesn't notify users other than the discussion starter of responses to responses. Do you understand what I mean here? If so, maybe you can explain it to me.

I get notifications sometimes when someone responds back to me after I respond in a discussion. Not all the time, but I think I do if they are on my friends list. But it would be nice if they did every one of them.

I think the only responses that I get responses to are the ones that I was the first person to respond in the box. I have always had to look for other ones by going through the entire discussion. I do find it very frustrating!

There are some discussions that I like to continue on, with friends. Although I initially get the alerts for responses and comments, some of them never get through my email. Sometimes I just happen to see them as I go through the site and discover that there was some new thread added. I really don't know how to keep track, but maybe I should do as you suggested.

Personally it can be quite interesting, and very hard from time to time to keep track. I do try my Best but many times am having to open up the friends profile after they might have responded back to one of my discussions like you have done here and then check out the discussions started and see if there is something there I might be interested in wanting to respond back too as well.

Hi Tina, I have all alerts set to on and I always have my email opened in a tab the whole time I am here. Therefore, anytime a new discussion of a friend is started and or a response/comment comes in, I am able to get the alerts and know that I have responded and or commented back. If it is any discussion that I know the friend/member is good about commenting back fairly quickly and I may have more to say I always have the tab still open and refresh it every few minutes so that I can comment again, if something else I can add. Since I am very active and do respond to many of my friends and or any member, I can and usually keep up with their updates and or keep up with the member. There can be an easier way, but I think because of my availability I am able to keep up. I find that I have gotten to know many of my listed friends and members because of my continual activity here. An added feature for anyone with limited time would be nice too.

Yes, being able to refresh and update the discussions your friends start is a Good way to keep up with everyone, and I am known to do that when I have time to be online here. Lately with everything going on though my time online is a little more limited but I do what I can. I also have my Emails I can go thru to see what discussions I might have missed as well and always trying to catch up there as I can.

Tina you are excellent at responding and commenting especially with the limited time you do have. I find you all over the place lots of times and have read a great deal of your responses to others which brings smiles to me as despite all other happenings for you, you are a very positive person. Thank you friend for the BR!

I get email notifications when my friends start new discussions. But since I am not on here daily, I have a hard time keeping up. I have a folder that I move the alerts to. And when I get the time, I wade through them. If it's something I cannot/do not want to respond to, I delete it or else I respond to the discussion and then delete the email notification. If I get a comment back, I get a notification of the same and it remains in my inbox till I get the time to respond to it.

Yes, it would be very hard for me to be able to keep up with all of them unless I spent 24/7 in here and then I would probably still not be able to keep up with everyone. Since I have a lot of friends here who are very active, and I also choose to Start New discussions from time to time it does keep me quite busy here as well.

I receive notifications of my friends’ discussions in my email account. I attempt to get to as many as I can each day but I am really behind! I delete them from my inbox as I respond and at present I have over one thousand still unattended which explains why I haven’t started any posts myself for quite a long time. I like to catch up a bit although I know I will never be completely up to date. I don’t like to miss out on my friends’ discussions if I can help it.

I start in my email, once I am at myLot, I use the responded tab. If you look at the list, the last responder is listed there in blue. You'll know if YOU are not the last responder, to check and see if you need to respond further.

Hello Tina! I agree with you and I hope mylot would take note of this. I do respond to my friends' discussions when i can relate to them or nobody has responded the same response as I would have made. But actually I couldn't keep track of the responses that I make and if I do it would take me all day. To be here in mylot nowadays is a luxury for me. I don't have much time now as before but I just try to be active as in can. Have a happy weekend!

'Yes, there will never be enough time in a day to respond back to all, nor would you want to as well." --It takes a lot of time to answer discussions started by our friends. One advantage in mylot is discussions are never closed and one can answer after the best response is taken. So N number of queries are available every day. One discussion -- different responses again can get our response. Number of possibilities is very high. I try to limit myself to favorite subject and known persons . How is your health? Are you fine now? take care. have a good day.

This is True. You can still go respond back in others discussions even after the Best Response is chosen and find some Great discussions that you might have missed out on that you did not have the time to respond back too before. Personally this is the Great thing about being here.

I use the button "discussion" and then choose "responded". I receive a list with all topics I have answered and I can check if somebody answered me back. Well I hope this can be improved by having an option to go directly to your answer but I think the site is improving all of the time so soon we may see this option as well :).

Well, I have been here for over 4 1/2 yrs. and have not seen this option available yet, but it would be a nice addition for sure. I know that there are a lot of ways to keep tabs on everything. Just need to find more time to keep up.
