Pottermore: What is it all about?

She has said in the past that if she ever has the time she would like to write a sort of Encyclopaidea of the Harry Potter universe.In this book it would have the biographies of all the major characters,a brief history of the Harry potter universe and other explanations on things in wizarding culture such as institutions,items,animals magic etc it would explain everything you need to no about the Harry Potter universe and i think this is what the announcement will be about

I think it could be like an online encyclopedia guide to the Harry Potter world. Scholastic has already announced that it's not another Harry Potter book. There are some peopole who think that it could be a promo for a game or new series that JKR is writing, but it seems everything is speculation at this point. Either way, as a devoted HP fan, I can't wait to find out!

We are waiting for 'new Harry Potter'.

I was under the impression that it was going to be a promotional thing for the new movie and maybe a social networking site for Harry Potter fans. I don't think it means there are going to be any more Harry Potter books. I'm not a Harry Potter fan though so I haven't really been following it closely.
