Stubbornness vs Persistence

What is the difference between Stubbornness and Persistence?

To be stubborn is to be set in one's on ways. To be persistent is a willingness to not give up.

Being persistent is trying to keep on going, when one is faced with failure. Not giving up, fighting it out, and trying to win is persistence. Being stubborn is being unreasonably obstinate and refusing to agree, even when one knows deep inside that one is wrong.

I think stubbornness is a negative trait while persistence is an example of good values. When one is stubborn, he does things he want even if he knows that i may bring bad consequences. Persistence is to keep on trying and holding on to something that in the end may bring good and positive results.
