Some of my friends usually doesn't watch anime already because they are grown ups... As for me although I'm old enough I still watch and read manga since some of these shows have historical benefits in it and since I love world history it is my habit to read one or watch one, but am I really old enough for this stuff?

I am an anime addict I am already married with a son who even though he is only eight months old watches anime with me. I am actually so hard core with it that I refuse to watch english dubbed. There are tons of adults of all ages who watch anime just look at comicon full grown adults doing cosplay.

True, the orignal dubbers of an anime are great. The expressions are delivered perfectly, but not all of them though. But still, when the animes where dubbed into another language, it turns somewhat like the expressions are not good as the original one, like Naruto in english dubbed. Sometimes, dubbed in other languages are good too, just like the YU gi oh GX. I first watch it in HERO ( anime channel in Philippines) then tried to watch it in Japanese. The filipino dubbers are great in that anime, japanese was good too, but the characters voice just doesn't fit to the character's sometime and when they say " My turn, Draw! ".

I don't think watching or reading something you enjoy can ever outgrow it. Anime is rooted in Japanese (mostly) culture and the plots often reflect this. I guess it depends, if you're still watching Dora the Explorer in your 20's, that's a little weird. However, anime and manga have more complex plotlines, most of which are actually designed to cater to an older crowd. Think of DeathNote, Naruto or other popular manga series, these are graphic and meant for a young adult to older crowd who can handle the violence. Truthfully, you'll only "outgrow" something when doing it no longer brings you joy, and if you're happy and enjoy watching anime or reading manga, then continue to do so.

Yep that's true. Even my mom watched anime I recommended and I noticed that almost all of the Korean, Japanese and even Taiwanese short T.V. series are based on anime or manga stories...

I still read anime and i am quite old too. There are a lot of anime styles that can also relate to mature people. It depends on the story though. Anime is really fun and i don`t think that i will give up on that even if i reached 60 above anime has been my passion since then i don`t care if others judge me. As long as i`m happy with it, i will go for it. I don`t think anime has an age limit !!

I very much doubt that. I am a young adult and I still enjoy my anime even though people would have raised eyebrows if they were privy to this interest. I don't blame them but they don't understand why I was hooked since I was really young. One of the greatest thing about anime is that some materials are really good and are timeless. You don't need to be kid or any adult to enjoy anime as long as you understand the plot and everything it presents. And many enthusiasts are already grown-ups, holding a job and attending cosplays and anime conventions. Soem are even studying anime itself. I don't think anime is a restrictive interest. Some people find maturity in the anime while others see good, clean fun and entertainment. It doesn't hurt to like anime. It only the narrow minded that see that this interest is for kids only. Some of anime are really targeted for mature audience. In a sense, anime is universal and has no boundaries. It's a very flexible genre that cater to all members of society. That's the good thing about anime, there's always a material for everyone. It's also the reason why many people like it and why it is so popular.

I really agree on your statement. I was hooked from anime when I watched the series of St. Tails, since then it was a habit for me to watch any kinds of anime with different genre and because of that I discover my talent in arts. As of now I still am watching anime, and uses it as my reference in my drawings. When I was young my dream is to become a mangaka, but I'm still learning so anime is my source of inspiration in creating 2D characters of my own and creating gestures that will express my mood... :)

Of course not! There's no rule saying that it is only for kids. It is made for everybody to watch. Some of them are for 18+ and not suitable for children, so the animes are for everybody.

There is no old enough too watch anime. It is true that there is some anime that directed for kids but there is also for teen and all ages too. Like we know in Japan where the anime come from, the anime can be watched almost all the time even in the time where kids already sleeps. From that information, we should know that anime was made not only for children but it can be watched by everyone.

I don't know how old you are but one is never too old for anime! I'm in my 20s and still happily watching anime. So long as I enjoy it and it doesn't affect my daily life, I don't see a problem!~ Happy watching anime!~

Anime is for adult and kids. I'm already 25 years old and I'm still fond of watching anime. I have a friend who is already at his fifties but still like anime. Anime is for all ages however there are anime that are not suitable for children because of extreme violence.

Well of course you are. It doesn't matter how old you are, it's not that bad to watch. Heck I am watching Naruto Shippuden and the show is real good to watch after you watch episodes of Naruto.

I'm 16, and I'm completely hooked. I have an anime convention in just under a month. I've met middle-aged mothers who still read manga, even dress their children up in cosplay and take them to conventions with them! It's not an age thing so much as an interest thing. You should tell your friends, there's a type of anime for everyone, depending on your interests. :D
