In fact i don't always use video call, when i want to talk to someone. Most of the time, i prefer to use voice call to talk to my family and friends. Sometimes, i prefer not to let the receiver of my call knows what i am wearing at that time. Since today is a special day, i call my parents and wants to wish my father have a Happy Father's Day. Do you always use video call? Do you do anything special to celebrate this special day with your father or even your family? Care to share with me your experience?

I love video conferencing with my Yahoo! Messenger. It's faster and cheaper. I prefer it than chats, actually. But like you myfb, I think most people prefer not to be seen when conversing. I can understand that.

I'm using iPhone 3G. I don't think I can do video conferencing with it since it only has 1 camera, at the back of the phone. I'd love to have a 4G, though. It costs more than an iPad; so I'll be doing my conferencing with my laptop, I guess.

Hi Tigeraunt, of course skype's video conferencing is the best. But, since i am unable to online most of the time, then using video call from my cell-phone comes in handy.
@Mantis, i also prefer to use skype's video conferencing than YM's. Because it was clear and not easily jam like YM. But now, i mention about using video call from our own cell-phone. Have you tried it? It's very convenient...

Actually I have never used anything like this. I used to use a Chat Room back in the day if you had a camera on top of your Computer the person you are chatting with could see you. But personally I guess for the most part I am not sure I would want something like this. I guess if I had kids or something I would want it.

Yes, i ever tried your way of chatting which uses computer. That's the video chat that you had mentioned it here. But video call is using the video right from your cell-phone. Your cell-phone must have the video enable button, to be able to use this function.

Hello myfb,
I have never used video calls when chatting. If I chat, I do it from my office so I must avoid all those during chats with friends. This time on father’s day, we started our Journey from native to here and that day was my elder son’s birthday too. We could not celebrate the same or father’s day as we were traveling on that day.

Hi myfb.
Yes, I use camera when I'm talking to my family but mainly when they want to see the kids. Well the connection gets bad at that time but for a couple of minutes it's ok. Otherwise we are just chatting and everybody is doing other things online as well. Just not to waste time :).

So you mean, you are using video conferencing? Yes,it is very interesting and loves using it, too. Now, i mean here is using another type of video conferencing that's using direct from your phone. But firstly, you will need to buy a video enable phone to be able to use that function.

We have used Video Calls when on vacation to talk to our children and grandchildren. What we do is to email them to let them know what time we will be calling. It is nice to see them when we are talking to them. I am not sure I would want to call someone if they are not ready for the call. It would be like walking into their home unannounced. You would not do that so why use a video call to do the same thing?

I seldom have the video call because I feel uncomfortable when I am in front of the video cam. I can't do something else since the video cam is facing to me. I prefer to have the voice call much more. But if I have a choice, I like to have the text chat the most since I can do something else at the same time. It won't so bothering.
I love China

I don't always use video call but I do alot of times. My daughters and their families live far away and it's so nice to see them in person! When I talk to my son or sisters I use just a voice....with my sisters once in a great while we do do video calls but not most of the time.

I rarely use video call, as I get a little self conscious about the way that I look, so it is much easier for me to just use my mobile phone as a voice call rather than as a video call. I have got them all added on social networking websites, so that they can see what I am up to, so there is no real need for a video call as such. I live very near to my parents anyway, so I do actually see them on most days which means that I don't call them all that much anyway. It would probably be very different if I lived a distance away from them, though.

No i dont use it and have not tried that either.
I use text all the time, sometimes voice call but not too much on voice call, more on text because text messaging is cheaper. As for voice call, not all of our family members have a camphone, many are still using the regular cellphone.
We dont do anything to celebrate Father's day.

Yes, only the phone that have video function able to receive video call. By the way, i don't always use this function, most of the time prefer to send text and voice call them only. Indeed, text messaging don't spend much and is the cheapest among them.

I sure do like to video call with family as well as with friends. I video chat almost every day but when it's a special day, I call. Today is father's day here in the US but my country celebrates it a different day so for me it was just a regular day. When my country's father's day arrives, I'm already going to be there so there's no need to video chat.
