if you like taking pics, then by all means buy one, its cheaper these days with so many brand coming out.
if you are not that much of a photo taker, then dnnt consider buying, your interest in using it will fade right away, and you'd just think of the money wasted on buying it since you will not be using it that much.

there's lots of good reasons to have a digital camera, rather than a film camera.
first off is cost. it's getting more and more expensive to have films developed, and less places do it now.
second, with a digital camera, you can choose which images to have printed, and you don't have to wait until they arrive to see if the picture is good. so for example, if you are taking pictures of something, you can keep going until you get a good one, rather than taking a few, and seeing if any come out okay. and you won't have to pay for the bad pictures to be developed.
and because they are digital, it's really easy to share them on the internet, or save them to disc, or send to friends and family.

Well, I love taking pictures so, of course, I'll say to you buy one for sure. I even have 3 digital cameras, one professional, other for daily use and other for carry to parties (if I lose that one there's no problem because it was cheap).
Nowadays, there a plenty of cheap cameras so you should buy one. It's always good to register the good moments.
