Yeah i know it's 10 years old, nothing special but i want an outside opinion. I am 21 years old and have Mitsubishi space star. I was looking for golf but couldn't get a good one even for 4000€. Than i bought my car for 2500. It might look ugly to some but it's practical (me and gf and 3 friends want to seaside and even drove a rubber boat on the roof. Do that with your bmw. And it is 1,8 GDI Sport with 122 Hp which is more than most of basic golfs. But not everything is great. It uses 9,5 liters per 100 kilometers now...after i changed air filter, cleaned throttle and so on and i still have to clean injectors some how. But basically if you put some work and effort in a good 10 year car it can really become great again in most cases. It's just dirty and clogged up from usage. In my opinion it's a great car, looks good like most Mitsubishi cars (galant is my favorite) and you really get a lot for the price including seat heaters ac and some other things. What do you drive, what was your firs car?

How can I forget my first car ? It was a citroen 2cv, the traffic model : http://www.automotoconso.com/leblog/IMG/infos5/2cv-fourgonnette.jpg
I was 18 years old, it was as old as myself and I bought it for 2000 francs, around $1000. It was running a 12 hp motor and the counter was blocked at 110 km/h, although I knew only a descent where I was able to block it, and it gave more sensation than a bmw running at 250 km/h. On the top of hills, it was more often running at 30 km/h, and was a plague for other cars. I remember a day when I stopped near the police at the top of a hill. I had just been overtaken by two other cars, and the policeman said : "Go away : you have done no mistake, but the others should not have overtaken you on the top of a hill". I was able to repair it with matches -- really ! -- and I sold it two years later for the same 2000 francs price, after some summer holidays in Turkey : 5000 kms without a breakdown ! What a car ! And it was using 7 only 7 liters/100 km. I had many "sport" cars after it, the first was a R12 Gordini, using 14 liters/100 km, and it was a choice target for the police.
