Father's Day

Here in the USA, we are celebrating Father's Day today. My father died some years back and he was not big into holidays of any sort, not an affectionate type. Do you have any Father's Day plans or memories that you would like to share. It's just another great way to honor all of the dads who sacrifice and care for us through good times and bad.

Father's dayis not a common thing in our country, Indonesia. There is only Mother's day which is commemorated annually on December 22. Even though I am a father with two children and I have father as well, I'm not too hopeful there will be a memorial father's day in Indonesia.
Respect your father or mother should do at any time and not just on certain days. It doesn't mean that I do not like there are mothers day or fathers day. Commemoration is good to remind those who are far from parents. For me, who live with my parents, interacting with them is my daily activities.

Yes, they deserve to receive it. We should care to them when they are elderly. And that's why I live with them now even though they do not currently require attention from me. However we take care of them, repay them, we can never repay our indebtedness to them. The only way to repay them is to take care and keep our kids like what they have done to ourselves first. I hope someday, when my children grow up and to be parents like me, they will do the same.

You are setting a good example for your kids and by them seeing the respect and love that you are giving to your parents, they will understand to do the same. They may just surprise you when you are in your elder years.How wonderful is that to imagine, to ponder?

I was raised by my grandparents.My grandpaw who helped raise me is in heaven.My birth father and me have a great relationship now.I was lucky in this life to have two fathers to love me.
