Yep, it's true. If you contain yourself you will not be able to have fun. If you, however, open yourself up you'll find that almost everyone will also open themselves up to you. I said almost because there are some who really doesn't want to expose themselves to the world.

I'm living it! A couple of years ago I was so shy and so closed. I never thought love was meant for me.Then I got my heart broken and by the time I mended I had opened my heart and a year and a few months ago my guy said he loved me and I realized I love him back. I was open and ready for him.

So how 'bout you, though? How have you been holding up? Are you also believing this saying?

Wow ok that is different from a toothpaste commercial I have never heard of that before not from a commercial, it's a nice thought though really, I mean you never know where you are going to get positive words from. Nice share.

My heart must be closed because no love has gotten in there in years! So no one can enter. I do it because I am scared of getting hurt once again! I attact losers when I am not looking for losers! I am scared to try again! I rather be safe then sorry!

That's ok. As long as you are open for love of friends and family. Romantic love is ok but it isn't the Only love.

I think that's really a hard thing to do. Specially when you've grown in years, and have experienced a lot in life. You get to be jaded. You put up a lot of defenses, that it's hard to open up to someone.
I think that's why real relationships are hard to come by. A lot of these defenses need to peeled away first.

Never say never. I was so closed , No one ever touched me but... my ex made me open a little but then left. With help of my friend I learned that I Need to remain open to find love. So when my guy came along I was opening slowly. He waited and waited and now we are in love and happy and open to one another. So I say never say never!

Now that all depends. I tried that theory years ago when I got married and come to find out, I was totally wrong for opening up in the first place. Now my life is in shambles. I always believed in being guarded, even before I was married. After I got married and opened up, thats when the bottom fell out. I have returned to my original views, stay guarded. I live my life as the saying goes, Believe half of what you see and none of what you here. Life begins when you, the individual decides it begins. Being closed is not a bad thing. There are many people in this world that would love to take advantage of others. So, that said, I will remain as I am, it works for me.

Well see if I were to marry , that's when I would close up Shut , like a clam. I'm new at this being open stuff but it works for me. This doesn't mean I won't rain down on anyone who hurts me.As long as you are happy being closed, then I'm happy.

Very true and so inspiring thought, well I think I am a very good student who always ready to learn. So first thing which I learnt was Listen carefully and Question wisely and for that I have to keep open my eyes, mind and heart.
But we need reminders some times and I think your discussion gave me reminder for that I want to thank you.
Cheers

I don't know if they have that commercial up here in Canada, but it makes a great point. Not sure what it has to do with toothpaste, but in general it's a good idea. We can not receive that to which we are not open.

No one can get through a closed door, water cannot flow when there is a dam , how do we expect our lives to progress, for love and prosperity and success and whatever else floats your particular boat if you do not open to these things? You can embrace life or you can hold it at arms length. The former is scary as it opens us to possible hurt, even rejection, but it also opens us up to a myriad of possibilities and makes life an adventure and not an uphill struggle.
