I am planning on opening an online clothing shop. I will be designing and making all of the clothes. I'm still on the planning stage though, it will probably happen in a year or so. My question is how much are you willing to spend for a DAY, SUMMER dress. We are not talking about formal dresses here. What will be your price range? Please be realistic though, like I know we all want to spend as little as possible but what do you think appropriate amount for that type of dress. Thank you

I guess it depends on the type of clothing materials like if it's cotton, polyester etc etc etc. I'd say for a summer dress, I like to spend PhP300-500 providing its of high quality. I hope I have helped. You can also share this on www.lifo.com where girls can share their tips and views on their common interests such as beauty and fashion.

If summer dresses or casual dresses, I think the price range must be from P300 to P1000, depends on the style of the dress. It's also good if you always keep in mind that your customers will be mostly from students to older ladies.

if it is a summer dress, then it does not have to be so elaborate and the fabric is not required to be of so high quality like what is used for formal dresses. (i know you know what i mean ). a summer dress has to be comfy. the range should be from 200 to 400 pesos. you have a nice concept for a business. good luck!

I spend too much for food rather than dress, I will not spend enough for dress, besides I cannot wear it all in one day. I just need a right budget for my dress. and not spending too much for my fashion wear, I am not into fashion, any dress may do as long that I have dress.

Hi and congrats on opening your own shop! I hope it'll work out for you! Sounds like you were asking on what most would spend on a summer dress. I'd say around $35 give or take a bit. What kinds of fabrics are you using? Will you be using the Audrey Hepburn/ Meg Ryan (movie IQ) styles? Also, is there a reason why 90% of the retailers have fallen in love with polyester?? I do see some cottons out there and I realize that polyester is cheap and easy to care for but kinda essential for the skin to breathe during 90F and I don't think either cotton or linen is that expensive is it? Best of luck to you!

hmm i do not mind spending for a good dressn but so far the most expensive i have for a dress i wear to the office is about $35. i think i won't go further than that now.. not beyond my $35 mark for an office attire. hehe and well i think of course if i have to buy for more than that... that would have to be an evening dress something i need for a good occasion...

I think $20-50 would be a good range for SUMMER casual dress. This id the amount that i spend if i go to buy dresses for myself, however considering the material, type and the comfortability of the material i am willing to pay more if need be. I have also bought dresses that cost $10 but the fact is the higher you pay the better quality you get (provided you know where to shop from!)

Wow nice idea you have there about opening your own online clothing shop. You are asking about simple summer dresses, probably anywhere between $30- $60 depending on the dress and design. I am sure there are summer dresses out there for $15.99 or so but the quality and durability usually is not long lasting, at least the ones I have seen. Where after a couple washes they don't hold up well. Congrats on your future plans and hope you do get that going.

For a nice, summer day dress, between 15-35. But if you are able to target wealthier people, and you have fashionable looking designs, you could easily charge more, like modcloth, com.

Hi tessa9, It depends on what kind of dress, and what it's for! :-) Prom = $100-$300 Wedding = $300-$1000 Party = $50-$150 Etc... Of course, in my situation... if I could get a dress really cheap, even if it's used... I would. :-) I'd like to pay $5-$10 for a really nice dress. LOL :P
