How much do you cherish your life?

Last week, the news on how easy the celebrities in Korea end their life makes me very sad (some of you may now that I love to watch Korean drama. I am also learning the language now). The reasons somehow sound vain to me, like: there's no friend they could trust, some were addicted to slimming pills, some because their popularity were decreasing, some were at the top of their fame...
I know that being a celebrity is not easy, especially when like in Korea every new one appears almost every month, the competition must be tough, thus making them working hard to stay on top. However, that did not justify them to end their life, to my view. Were they too vain in viewing this life? Did they live just to entertain others and be done with it when their popularity gone?
Life is so precious than trying to satisfy other people. Life for me is to learn and to cherish others.

I still wonder why they become celebrities if they cannot handle the pressure.
s we say here.
If you cannot take the heat, stay out of the kitchen.
Life is what we make of it, not what others think of us.
No need to impress anyone, they just have to be themselves.

That's what I thought. But I heard that many of them did a makeover with their look by doing plastic surgery. Nose, jaw, cheek, hips, everything... That must cost a lot of money to do it and to keep it in good shape?
Maybe there's what got their spirit being so low when things didn't work our well.
If only they could be themselves...

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions.
"How old are you?" "I'm four and a half!" You're never thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half, going on five! That's the key
You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead.
"How old are you?" "I'm gonna be 16!" You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life . . You become 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony YOU BECOME 21 YESSSS!!!
But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There's no fun now, you're Just a sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's changed?
You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50 and your dreams are gone.
But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn't think you would!
So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60.
You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!
You get into your 80's and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime. And it doesn't end there. Into the 90s, you start going backwards; "I Was JUST 92."
Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. "I'm 100 and a half!"
May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!
HOW TO STAY YOUNG
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay "them."
2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. "An idle mind is the devil's workshop" And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.
4. Enjoy the simple things.
5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.
7. Surround yourself with what you love , whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.
8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.
10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER :
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Wow, is this a lesson of life? You must have been experiencing yourself if you can describe them all. "How old are you?"
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away." I agree with that, but I still think that we should not end that breath that are still in us who knows for how many years to come....

I cherish my life, because you only get one chance of your life so you might as well make the most of it and make it as good as it can possibly be. There is no point sitting around and moping about your life, because it simply will not last forever, and you would be foolish if you were to believe that it would. You should make the most of every single day that you get the chance to live, as you never know when your life will end. You don't want to end your life having regrets over what should or could have been.

Oh wow, i don't look good, i am going to die right now, bye bye, i will come back with a new.. more handsome face. I just hope i don't come back as a girl though... lol
I don't know what is up with these people, Jenny. Life is not all about yourself. I could never even think of ending my life just like that. Maybe these people didn't have friends, or people they could share with. It's so unfortunate people end their precious lives like this. They simply gave up on life.

Yeah, they gave up easily, while others did everything to stay healthy and alive. Sad, but it's another part of a reality. If people accept of what they are however it may look unfortunate, I think they would not do that.
Anyway, I would not want to reborn as a female, that's for sure...

I believe that we all can take our lives for granted. it is usually not until we face a challenge or crisis in our lives that we habe appreciation for life. cherishing the small moments and joys can mean just as much. We shouldn't wait for the opportunities to comes along. we should just grab life and hold on tight and cherish everything that comes along.

You are right. We often take our lives for granted. When we get older we would understand how life is precious... I just hope they got better parents and environment to teach them thus they would not be easily taking their own life for a small challenge.

I too cherish my life. This life is a gift from God, so i have to always live it to the fullest. It's God who has the right to take it back, not us.
Life is full of problems. Let's just think of it as challenges that could make us better persons. Since God gave us this life, we should always call on him whenever troubles comes. It's not us to take our life, but it's God's.
