OFW(Overseas Filipino Worker) in Hong Kong.. died while saving the life of the child whom she was taking care of. It was really bittersweet, that a person had to die for another one to live. I really pity the family that she has left behind, the husband who's working in UAE and the only child in the Philippines.. But the family must be really grateful to her, who gave her life just to save their child.

that is a very sad story. a very brave person... though a life must be spare so that the other may live... i think it would be very painful for her family to accept the fact that she was gone and she sacrificed her life for the kid she was taking care of.

It's really saddening to know especially for the child with both parents away working to ensure a better future. This is one traits that we Filipinos can be proud of.Although we can hear some bad deeds done by some but this mother proves that we Filipinos are dependable.I hope her child understands what she had done.

Is this a new news?
I knew long time ago about same incident where an OFW,sacrificed her life to save the kid she is taking care of.
I am sure it's the instinct of saving life that drives the woman to save the kid's life.
If i may not mistaken...this kind of incident happened when one OFW in Singapore is also accused of killing the kid under her care.
This was a real controversy that's been watched by the world- in news.
One being accused and one receiving honor.
I am been nostalgic...makes me sad to remember those people (our countrymen) working out there, leaving their family and loved ones.
A mother taking care other people's kid,and no one takes care of her own child back home
Mysteries of life and sacrifices ...love and pain.
have a great Monday

Hello lady,
after all the bad or discriminatory remarks that our OFW's been getting from these people, seems some are really warm hearted. i hope the family of the victimes where compensated for her loss. i feel sad for the child that has to go through the pain more than just being alone at home not having his or her family with them

Sad to hear that news. But perhaps that makes us prove to be a Filipino. He show that we Filipino are very responsible to the thing that are being entrusted to us. That maybe lift up the moral of the OFW's in the Hong Kong and we should hope that the Chinese People will bring back their trust to our responsible OFW's out there.
