Hello. I want to ask for your opinions and suggestions regarding my eyes. They are always itchy and watery. It's definitely not sore eyes because I have it almost everyday. It's getting my eyes tired already, I think I'm losing perfect vision due to my scratching if I can't stand the itchiness. But sometimes, my eyes are fine. I noticed they're okay when surroundings are clean and tidy, fresh air. But when I'm in a dusty or moldy area, there goes the watery stuff. I always flush my eyes with cold water I don't if it really helps. I'm in a neighborhood where I'm near a highway, and the roads are not cemented that's why it's dusty everywhere. Anyone who can help me? Thanks for your early tips.

If your eyes get like this when you're inside, you may have a dust allergy or something. The only way to be absolutely sure is to see a doctor about it. My mom is the exact same way. Whenever she starts cleaning the house, her eyes get all watery and she sneezes.
Your best bet would be to go to a doctor, only they would be able to give you a correct answer.

It's probably allergic conjunctivitis. It's due to exposure from dust, pollens, smoke or harsh chemicals from soaps. The best thing is to avoid those allergens.Switch to products with mild ingredients especially those you are using on your face.Avoid touching and rubbing your eyes as much as possible because it will make your problem worst.

Hey guys! @courtknee 525, Thanks for your tip! But I'm not really sure about the doctors within my area. But I'll look for trusted Optometrists.. Thanks!
@kareemadivina: Hey there! I also thought it might be the cosmetics irritating my eyes. That's why I stopped using all of them last month. It stopped for few days, then there they go again after cleaning the house. :(
@mantis36: I agree with you. However in my situation, it's not natural anymore because it happens almost every time.
Thanks guys!

Hey there. I've had watery eyes few months back too. But they weren't itchy, kinda like stingy for me. I was on my winter vacations and all I did was use internet all day and do nothing. I came to know it was because I stared too much on the computer screen. So yeah these days I have my schools again so I can't be on the computer 24/7 so my eyes are OK. The thing I did was splash cold water to my eyes gently whenever they start to get watery. Well if this doesn't help, I think it's best that you visit a doctor. Good luck and I hope your eyes get better soon.

No problem
Anyway I hope you get a cure for your eyes soon. I know they can be pretty annoying and painful. Good luck and have a good day

Oh gosh. Me too.. In my line of work, I have to face the computer for hours daily. The dusty area, plus the computer, plus the pollens.. Gosh all of them then are affecting my eyes. I also did try the water splashing because everytime I feel eyes get tired, I close them for at least 2 minutes, then I wash them with running water. Thanks for your post!

My eyes are often like this in the summer. I worked out that it is hayfever and I use loratadine tablets in order to treat it, and these work for twenty four hours. It is best to take them before you go to bed, as the dust in your bed can aggrevate your eyes during the night time. You might not realise that it is a pollen allergy, because often you don't have any flowers in your house, however on a breezy day the pollen can blow from miles away meaning that you often aren't sure what it causing it, but it is probably pollen.

Thanks GemmaR. However, I'm really not into medical medicines. Though I want to ask doctors to know what they think about my situation. But I don't want any prescriptions. I want a cure that's something natural. At least I'd go for eyedrops. But hey, this is a good recommendation too. Thanks!

Hie friend I think you must be in front of screens a lot of time or probably you must be rubbng yur eyes a lot. When eyes aee watery and reddish that's tge main reason for it. Also apart from that.. situation may get worse if you continue to do this. A good suggetion I think is to sit far from tv or use lcd on computers replacing crts becausd crt emmit more radiation. Also whenever ypu travel openly to avoid dust in your eyes use googels that will prevent you from eye problems. So concluding take care of your eyes very carefully becausd they are very sensitive areas of your body.

my first guess would be a pollen / dust allergy. Have you been to your physician to let him test you? Dust allergy would be apparant if you are in a dusty environment and places like library, school.
Pollen allergy would bevome apparent when you suffer with your eyes, when the grass has been cut. Also in spring when al the flowers and plants are growing then there are much pollen in the air.
Do you sneeze a lot too, at the times your eyes are sore?
If it nost pollen / allergy you could try placing a saucer of water on your heating, then probably your house has dry air and that would affect your eyes too.

Hello ieniemienie! Yup. I'm a big sneezer. :) But when I garden outside, they clear up. About the saucer of water, this is another good suggestion. During these months, the humidity is low, hence the air is dry. The instruction you told me is a good assistance. It can help the humidity rise at least inside the house. Thanks!

I have the exact same problem, especially in the mornings or when I go to sleep. I am sitting here writing with a piece of tissue paper made into a small square fat tablet to put between the bridge of my nose and the eye glasses. I touch it and it starts itching. I found a good way to stop it though. I take a fresh toweling cloth and make the cloth hot under the running tap! I then just DAB the cloth once around my eyes. The itching stops. I do NOT touch it once I have dabbed it with the cloth. It may be due to vision - I don't know - or due to allergies.

Yes, I guess that is due to dusty air in the are you are living at. Have you consulted with your eye doctor yet ? I am quite sure he/she could recommend some special eye-drops to keep your eyes cleansed. That had happened to me too ! It hurts the vision too.

Sounds like allergies, you can try eyedrops but also go to your doctor because they will be able to give you allergy medacine.

The common treatment is to avoid to the things that might trigger the allergies. rubbing your eyes is a physical trigger and therefore must be avoided also. There are a number of different over-the-counter remedies that you can buy, but ofcourse, you need to go to the doctor to check on what is kind and really triggering your allergy. When i got an allergy also i used ice cube to lessen the irritation of my eyes and keep eyedrops refrigerated since this makes application more soothing.

A good doctor can tell you only what to use and precautionary things to be used. Now i think you already doing somethings like flushing out the dust away from the eyes with fresh water. And you know the the dust is creating problem .If you can prevent the dust by using some curtains to enter into your living area then it would help or water the surrounding so that the dust does not rise and settles down. Use some good medicine if prescribed by a doctor or try to use spects which can cover ur eyes from the dust.If your breathing the dust then you wil be in more problem,so see some better way to prevent the dust as its highway we can not do anythign for the transport running.Have as much as green plants around ur area .Big trees can do good.

I think it is due any refractive error of your eyes for which you have to wear specs. Otherwise, it may also be due to any allergy. So it is better to consult with an ophthalmologist immediately. Do not neglect it.
