Hello fellow Mylotters. I have 2 neighbors on either side of me. One neighbor's dog managed to get out of the house via a hole in the roof. The other neighbors dog chewed a hole in the wood fence this morning, ate some catnip, pooed in my yard and knocked over a couple of solar lights in the front. All because she wanted to smell the flowers! I'm surprised she didn't hurt her mouth chewing through the wood and a bit of metal fence the neighbor put up to keep her from digging.
He looked out his front door and saw the dogs in my front yard, and thought those dogs look like mine. Then he realized they are his dogs. lol.
Have you ever found a neighbors pet in your yard? Has a neighbors pet ever chewed through the fence to get to your flowers to smell them?
I hope the carnations come back soon. We had sooo much rain it drowned them, and dried up all the flowers. I will put some in the dogs yard to smell whenever I get some going. I have roses, but they are thorny and I don't want the dog to get hurt on them trying to smell them.

I am surprised that The dog's owner went so far as to take it for granted that the dog chewed a hole in your fence. They couldn't so much as say "I am sorry" to you.In addition,I simply can't conceive why the dog took an interest in the flowers. That was not meat after all!

He fixed the fence. They are good neighbors, I was not concerned about it. The dog likes flowers! lol. He told me when they say lets smell the flowers, the dog follows along and smells them. I have a lot of rose bushes, so the dog had a blast sniffing them. I'm glad she did not get hurt on the fence or the thorns. She didn't eat the flowers, just likes to smell them.
I had a dog that liked flowers. He would go out and smell them, but wouldn't bother them otherwise. It was funny to watch him trying to reach the blossoms just to smell them!

Well first off that sucks.. Secondly I would have your neighbor pay for repairs to your fence and flowers. And come over and pick up the doggy poo. I've had neighbors dogs just run thru our yard or lay down under a few of our trees just hanging out. Don't mind it much just hope they don't get hit one of these days since they are leaseless. Really my only concern. But if I did see them ruin something on my yard I'd be getting my camera taking a few photos of them doing it and than contact my neighbor about repairing what there animal broke.

He is going to repair it. He is a great neighbor. I have no worries about that. It is his fence anyway. lol. He put it up because of the dogs. He can't help the dogs dig and chew through things. he doesn't leave them outside very long because he doesn't want them barking and carrying on. He just let them out this morning, and I guess the one dog wanted to smell flowers so she chewed the hole in the fence. I have lots of rose bushes and a few other flowers in my yard. Didn't even tell him the dog made duty in my yard, I know he corrected the dog for chewing the fence, and both of them for leaving the yard. No sense in telling him to get embarrassed over it.
Now if this happened all the time, and he was not so careful to take care of his dogs then I would be perturbed. I've lived here 3 years now and this is the first time the dogs have done this, so I do not mind. They didn't break the light, just knocked it down and the solar lights I got for a dollar so it's not a big deal if one breaks. I won't be happy if it breaks, but there is no sense in making a big deal out of a dollar item. I can get more from the dollar store next year if needed. Still have a few extra ones anyway, and they are not made so sturdy.
