I was reading a news article on yahoo and it was saying that a study was conducted and people in america would work for 25 cents an hour much lower than that of other countries, based on a one time one hour job. as stupid as that study is a person got on and bashed walmart as a company that would love to pay it's employees 25 cents an hour. The study was not about any company. I worked for the local walmart and as much as I dont like the chain I can honestly say it was the best paying job in the area. I worked in the deli and made 9.70 an hour the most I have made in this area doing the same job was 8.25 an hour and at walmart that is all I did at the other store I also had to run the register.
I tend to get upset when people run off when they have no clue what they are talking about. does anyone else feel that way?

I'm pretty sure everyone feels the same way. I've had so many people make false assumptions about me out of nowhere.. it's really annoying. It's just talking out of your.. I really wish people wouldn't speak about something they know nothing about. Once in class, someone assumed I was getting abused and raped on a daily basis because I didn't attend every class and I wasn't in a my-life-is-splendid mood every day of my life.. I ended up getting a slip and having to see the school therapist who told me I should consider smiling more. Really. What did that even accomplish?

I sure would get upset when people generalize and say off the wall stuff about a company I worked for. Since the company was my bread and butter I would not like it being talked about and run into the ground.

yea it was more the fact that the article had nothing to do with walmart or any other company so the comment was kind of out of line. thanks for responding. happy mylotting.

All I say is that Walmart doesn't seem to have any trouble KEEPING employees, even when the economy was much better, I saw the same people all the time - and at Sam's as well.
If they treat their people so badly, they wouldn't stay, even when the economy was much better than it is now.

I don't know what are these people trying to prove by spreading untrue write up. They are only messing up the minds of the readers by spreading rumors to get public opinions. Yahoo is fond of publishing ridiculous stories to get public comments. Recently I was shocked to read from yahoo that Prince William is divorcing his wife of few weeks citing he made the wrong choice and was actually not ready to get married but forced into marriage by his wife. Knowing the past history of failed marriages in the royal family I believed what I read only to know later that it was just a fake story.

Well you do know what those who assume do to you and me. Anyway, yeah this tends to be a problem with a lot of people, when they are going to really just make a certain assumption based off of something that they really have barely read a lot of the time. Or even just a title. There are a lot of times where titles or summaries are on the Internet are specifically skewed to get people's interest, but the content inside is really slightly different a lot of the time. While you can see why people would make a certain assumption, it is no less frustrating in any way.
Yet, that is just what happens with a lot of people. They have a world view and they are quick to bash or praise, without really taking a closer look. A lot of people already have their minds made up right before and assume that something is true. Whether or not that it is, really doesn't matter a lot of the time. The fact of the matter is that more than a handful of people do this. Does everyone? Well it would be unfair to assume that but its a fair assumption that people do assume things with a bit of information all too often.

I know how you feel. People just talk and then run away like a hit and run. It's not only the assumption or what they said that upsets me. It's also the attitude they carry when they say it. It's an attitude that comes from the pride that they know what they're talking about. Either that or they CANNOT be convinced that things can change or that they're not what they think it is.
It's the know-it-all attitude that upsets me.

I do not like that. I have no idea what Walmart pays, but here we talk about MacDonald jobs.
