This morning the man ahead of me was counting out his change for two gallons of gas, he apologized to me for making the clerk take extra time to count his change. Then he was gone, out the door and it was my turn to pay, as I walked out he stop to let me cross in from of his van and then drove off. It wasn't until I was putting my change away that I realized I could have slipped him that extra $20 I had gotten as change, it was a great opportunity to give a gift and I missed it. I'll certianly try to be more alert to others from now on.

This happened to me a couple of years ago but anyway. I loved to go into Bruno's and get their pastries. Once I went in there and was paying for my things and had the money too but for some reason unbeknownst to me, my atm card stated no funds which embarassed the heck out of me. I was buying a cake for a church function; well, the man behind me a Caucasian man, he said, I'll pay for that. I was soo shocked. So I said, Mr I am coming from work and I had the money for this and if you don't mind, I will send you the money, he said, not necessary. I can still see him in my mind's eye. I haven't forgotten it. Later on, when a lady was without sufficient money, I slipped her a $10 off coupon which I knew was helpful and if I had more, i would give it to her but a blessing is a blessing.

Bless you for passing on a kindness. If everyone would do this, we would have a wonderful world!

I have wanted to offer before..but was afraid of offending them. I know how tough it can be. I have actually been on the verge of saying that I would cover their cost when I paid for mine before. You just never know how people will take you when you offer.

Well there are many times in our life where something presents itself as an opportunity that many times we do not take. It would be nice if every time something like this presents itself we are there to grab it, and act on it. But not every time is is supposed to happen like this as well. But at least times like this open our eyes more and we become a better person because of it as well.

You got an extra $20 in change? Do you mean the clerk gave you too much? I would have returned it.

No one gave me to much money, if that had happened I would have returned it even if I had driven all the way home before discovery. I take so much money to the gas station never being exactly sure how much the gas will be, this day is was less than expected so I had an extra 20.

That was a nice thought that you had to help the other guy out. I have felt that way before and I also missed opportunities to help someone. I believe that if you do something good for someone, it will come back to you in a positive way. Karma is real, believe me, I have felt the wrath and the good of it in my life.

It's a very good feeling when we know that somehow we become a blessing to others. May such actuation be like an epidemic that could spread rapidly to all human, we could have a better and wonderful world to live in.

I am glad that you were thinking along those lines. So many people are in need these days and so few are able to help out. Thank you for being a generous person.

That's so sweet that you even thought of it. I guess the best thing to do is to just file it away in the back of your mind and remember it the next time something similar happens. Undoubtably something similar will happen eventually, we just live in tough times right now.
I've had lots of missed opportunities myself. Sometimes the second chance never comes, but most of the time it does.

That was nice of you, but it was really a missed opportunity.
Sometimes, we see people who are in need of our help. Though they may not ask for it, it is in our own way to offer it and give. It saves them the trouble of asking help, that could humiliate them a lot.
Though, on our part , when we give , we should mitigate the impact of our help by maybe just taking it lightly, without them humiliated by our charity.

Sometimes we have missed opportunities such as yours.
But most important is that you remember and still think.
Because many are not interested in these things.
I am very glad your friend about this discussion.
Have a nice day!

We should always think of others! 'Do as you would be done by', not 'Be done by as you did.' We are all Family, wherever we live on the planet!

This seems to be a day and age where we have opportunity to be sensitive to the needs of others and helpful when we encounter them.

That was so sweet of you to have thought of that. We have so many opportunities to be nice to others in our lives, some we miss, some we grab!
My husband works in the weekends since he's retired and on Sunday, this old woman didnt have enough money to buy some food for the week. He supplied the missing money. He said that she nearly cried and he made a joke so she would feel better about it. She said she would pay him back, he said it wasnt necessary since it was only $5.
Its sad to think that some people cant put gas in their car or buy food. Im sure you'll do well next time. Its the thought that counts you know?
