We just found the home of our dreams. It's really not out of our price range, but we just bought our 4th rent house and it is not really a good time to buy as we are trying to pay off some things before we make such a bigger purchase. But when I saw my dream home I long to go purchase it, but it also at the same time makes me want to work harder to get there. What about you have you seen something that you long for that makes you work harder or does it depress you?

I've always dreamed about the perfect home. That's why I want to be an engineer. I want to pursue that career so i could build a house the way I visualize it. There are amazing houses out there but sometimes you have your own imagination and want your home to be exactly how you imagine it. But I really do try to work as hard as I could to reach my goals.

baileycows I am 84 going on 85 and stuck here in this tiring retirement center as when my son lost his job and we got behind in the rent,we got evicted of course. so finally my son and I decided I had to come here as I had my small social security check and ssi check so they take the rent and board out of it each month. my son is still only working now a part time job so we still can not get back into a two bedroom apartment. that is what I long for what I dream for.of course if I won the ten million dollar publishers house sweepstakes that would be great but the odds are a zillion to one. so I m hoping my son does get a good full time job.

I have to say tht it does both. Sometimes it helps me and motivates me more, other times it depresses me. My dream is to own a small plot of land that I can do a bit of farming on and have a nice little home on. I have to work really hard to get there, and am taking baby steps towards it. I know I can make it one day if I Just try hard today and work towards my goals.
However, some days I feel really awful about it and like I will never get there. My biggest hurdle is saving money, I know I can do it, but other days I'd rather not.
Congratulations on finding that dream home and I hope it's still available for your purchase when you can afford to do so!

I have beenn living in my house, which is rented, since i was born, ie for the last 65 years.I am very happy with what i have and would not like to exchange it for any other, however fancy it may be.Maybe i have become used to it and maybe at my age i would not want to change anything, even if it means not having a house of my own. There are moves to demolish the building and construct a new one, which would mean a newly planned house with better amenities and me becoming the owner. But i am not sure whether i would like that to happen as i am completely satisfied with what i have got at the present. No, i have never dreamt of another house but if it does happen during my lifetime,i will take it in my stride.Happy for you, though.

I have my home now but still I am dreaming of turning it into my dream house. But it will cost me some good money and I have to work hard for it. Sometimes I feel that I am not going to attain it but with the support of my family, I am not giving it up. I am bending my neck to have it done. I just hope that sooner or before retirement, I can have my dream house!

Of course...who else never does? We all want to own that house we have always wanted. At my age now, all I want is to own that house near the beach. Maybe a two storey building with a nice terrace facing the blue sea. It doesn't have to be huge, just three to four bedrooms with a mini-library for my movies and books collection and a mini-bar for my friends.

I like your idea of a house near the beach with a terrace facing the sea. However, i might drop the idea of having a mini-bar for my friends. I would like to have a real bar for them, instead of having a mini one lol . Kidding aside, i also like my dream house to have a library so i could start purchasing books that interest me. Bookstore, here i come!

I often wish I had a nice sound proof study I could go to to work. All in good time as far as you getting your dream home. With the real estate market the way it is I would be a little nervous about buying anything right now. I owned partial interest in a home twice but left them both times to my ex's knowing I could never afford them. I will probably never own another one. I believe in renting because I know I could never afford to keep up a house on my own.

Not really i just want our house renovated. But what i really want is to have different sources of income, be my own boss and be able to move on to the direction that I want.

I don't think too much about my dream home because I know that my chances of living in such a house are very small at the moment,I'm trying to focus on reality, pay my bills and try to maintain a decent standard of living, but that doesn't mean that I don't believe that one day I'll be in my dream home,so I'm not depressed, although I'm not happy either, but I still have enough hope that my dreams can become reality one day.

Even I am in a similar positions, all the houses I like are beyond my means and I have nothing to sell either to get the house. Somehow I am trying to get a better paying job so that I am able to buy my dream home. At times it really depresses me but somehow I have faith in God by his grace I will get a better job and then I would by my dream home.

There are certainly times, when I just wish that my husband and I could live and afford our dream home. But the fact of the matter is that we really can't. We're having a hard time just making it from month to month. Things are difficult right now, as I am sure it is for a lot of other people out there. We definitely want to try and be able to afford it, eventually. We hope that at some point in our life, we can live in our dream home and afford it.

I've never seen my dream home anywhere... though I have a pretty good picture of it and the surrounding neighborhood in my head. I haven't got anywhere near the funds and I'm not at the point in my life where it would be wise to start looking. Still in college right now.
I know it's exciting to see your dream home, but it's probably best to work hard and put off the purchase for now. Then you'll have the means and you won't get yourself into a bad debt and ruin the start of your new life in the home. And if it goes off the market in the time, then don't despair. You'll probably get another shot at an even better home.

Yes, I really work hard when i want to buy something. I even work overtime just to have enough money. I still don't have my own house, but i am working doubly hard to accumulate enough cash to buy my dream house. It is depressing sometimes when I have to use my savings on emergencies but I won't let myself down. I know someday, I'll be able to purchase my dream house.
