1 cent tasks - Will you do them?

I have left tasks for a long time because they are not worth my time. About one year ago when I was obsessed by mylot I did several $0.10 tasks. At that time, the reward of most tasks were at that level. Normally one can earn that much by post 10-15 posts. For me, it usually takes less time to accomplish a task than to make 10-15 posts, so I think it worth the time. But today when I clicked in the task tab, I was amazed that almost all the tasks were only 1 cent. I think most mylotters can get the 1 cent simply by posting 1-2 good posts. So why don't people use the time posting discussions instead of doing the low-reward tasks? I think the former is much interesting than the latter! Is there anyone who does tasks only for fun? What are the task starters thinking?

Yah, I share same opinion as you. When people are getting much better in website like microworkers, why would they bother to do those same job in myLot with much less earning. I think most of mylotters does not do any tasks (0.01). I tried to take a initiative in my discussion http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2540622.aspx And the responses I got, was enormous. Everybody said they did those jobs when earning was good. Even some veteran members took part and shared same opinion. As far as I know mylot admin also started similar kind of discussion. Thanks

Hi, seobuzz! I was also a member in microworkers and earned several dollars there. But after the semester began, I got too busy to reach $25 to get payment. So I gave up. I think my account is suspended now. Thank you for your response! Have a nice day and happy myLotting!

I have only done a few tasks. I usually prefer to spend my time on discussions instead. I think that is a lot more interesting because I really enjoy online discussions and I think it is fun to talk to people from around the world. I only earned a few cents from some of the tasks, but I didn't really do them for the money. One of the tasks asked us to write a couple of posts on a new discussion forum and as I like discussion forums I decided to do that task despite the low payment. I wouldn't do a task where I only earned one cent unless I was interested in the task or unless I know the the person who created the task and wanted to help him or her. If I did it for the money I would feel that I wasted my time.

I am a member of many different discussion sites, but MyLot is the only site where I am really active. I visit the other sites every once in a while, I read some of the discussions and sometimes I write a few responses, but I don't spend much time there. On one of the sites I have been a member of 3 years and I have only written 35 posts, so I not very active I am busy with my job and my other offline activities, and I think it would be impossible for me to be very active on every site. I just visit those sites when I have the time

I check the tasks once in a while but I find nothing that is of interest or worth the payment. It's true. Most of the tasks nowadays only pay 1 cent. I would rather join discussions that are interesting and informative. I wish there were more tasks that pay more.

Hi, watergirl! The trend is the reward of the tasks gets lower and lower, as I find. Thank you for your response! Have a nice day and happy myLotting!

I probably wouldn't do a 1 cent task! And I totally get you. There aren't that many good tasks anymore, and they are mostly little pay! 1 cent for a task is just way too little. I don't know if you're from America, but I could ask tons of people for 1 cent and they would give it to me. And that's be a low energy thing to do! Just find something that's worth it.

Hi, keeegan_ess! I'm from China. 1 US cent equals to 7 fen RMB, you can buy nothing here with 7 fen, even the cheapest thing. Is there any commodity worth only 1 cent in the US? Thank you for sharing! Have a nice day and happy myLotting!

I also noticed the 1 cent tasks and I think it's not worth doing them.Even if they only imply a 'like' on Facebook or to digg a site,it's still a ridiculous amount and Mylot should impose a threshold of at least 5 cents to task creators, otherwise I don't see how people will become more interested in doing tasks on Mylot when they can earn much better from tasks on Microworkers or other sites like that.

Hi, polaris77! I agree with you! A threshold will be nice. 1 cent is really ridiculous. Thank you for your response! Have a nice day and Happy myLotting!

Hi, qianyun, yes, that is indeed a little, i guess, many people on mylot prefer to post discussion, and at least for me, i like starting or responding on mylot, not only for fun, but to improve my English...well, have a nice time...

I know one cent doesn't mean anything, but at least it may be easier to earn it rather than posting. In fact I like to finish the tasks here. So I don't really mind the low paid. I hope that Mylot will learn from other websites and offer reasonable paid for the tasks. I love China

Hi, youless! Yeah, maybe some 1-cent task is easier. But at least yesterday, most of the 1-cent tasks in the available list are much more complicated then post a discussion. Thank you for responding! Have a nice day and happy myLotting!

Yes, indeed, the payment rates of the tasks vary quite a bit. Some of them pay very low rates, and depending on the interests, some may not be worth spending the time. Once in a while , I would check the available task list, and choose the ones I feel comfortable with, category-wise and payment rate-wise.

hi qianyun6 no not me I can make more by posting and i feel they ask to much in their tasks for one c ent thats insulting.I just go on about responding, commenting and making occasional discussions instead of doing one cent tasks. better earnings and way more fun too.the task starters are being really cheesy and insulting and I bet a lot of other people feel the same way too.

Hi, Hatley! Yes, I totally agree with you. It's insulting. 1 cent is for slave, not for a worker. I'm really curious about who can do such much only for 1 cent. Thank you for you response! Have a nice day and happy myLotting!

Hi qianyun: Actually I think the same and that's the reason why I stop doing this slow earning tasks. I enjoy the most here participating on the site. And at the same time, making a post it's sometimes faster than doing a whole task. ALVARO

To be honest for me in general, the tasks tend to fly right underneath my radar in a lot of ways. I know that they are there but there are just many times where I decline to think about doing the tasks. Well there have been a few times that I have done then, but there are just a lot of times where it has been out of sight and out of mind in many ways. I am sure that there might be a few gems in there, something that I can easily do to gain me some extra money and help me through life. One cent tasks on the other hand, seem to be a bit of a waste. I can fire off a quick three to four line post in perhaps half of the time and gain a cent. It is all about managing my time in many ways. Making sure that my priorities are not completely skewed in many ways. The best way not to skew said priorities is to really get towards making a better productive way. One cent tasks are just not going to be something that I am worthy of doing. Perhaps there might come a time where I will check out the other tasks.

There are quite a bit of low paying tasks and many times it depends on what the task is. I will do a quick and simple like on facebook as I may have facebook already open in another tab. I do enjoy the Sharon tasks as those are specifically from myLot and tend to pay a lot higher. Some members have actually needed one more cent to make payout so I can understand them doing the task to assure they do reach their goal. But if it is a great deal of effort, no I would not do them for such low paying rate, but I will not say it is not worth it for others as I understand that some members only log in just for tasks.

Hi, hardworkinggurl! But most of the tasks take a lot of effort here and I personally think their rewards don't match the effort...That's the problem! Thank you for your response! Have a nice day and happy myLotting!

Hi qianyun6, For me, it depends on the task. I've never done a task here at myLot, every time I checked there was nothing to suit me But on MTurk, for example, there are many 1-cent tasks that take 5-10 seconds to complete and require virtually no concentration, which is my favorite part If the task requires signing up to something, receiving a confirmation e-mail, filling in a profile or something like that, then 1 cent is clearly not worth it. Unless, of course, I was already planning to sign up to whatever the requester wants, and then why not make an extra cent with it?

Hi, NoWayRo! Yes, mylot is not a good place to do tasks. Most of the tasks are evaluated much lower than it should be. Thank you for response and have a nice day!

I'm not so interest in complete any task in mylot. The problem is not cause of 1 cent, 2 cents and so on, I'm just not interest about it at all.So far I have complete only one task with reward 0.03$, but true, it's rather waste my time.

If the task is just to like a FB page and if the page is really worth liking then I'd do otherwise I'd ignore the task. Other than liking an FB page for a cent, I don't normally do tasks that pays that small amount only. I noticed there are few good paying tasks but limited only to US citizens. How sad!

I checked it out once and never went back to have a look. Im not interested by the tasks because it really doesnt pay much and I dont have the time as Im on Mylot only when Im working. So if it gets busy, I close off mylot page.
