I can't believe that people are focused on talking on their cell phone, and not aware the upcoming traffic on the road.
Yesterday, I was on my way home, a lady was preoccupied on her cell phone while she was crossing the street. Other cars ahead of me have to make a brake on her, because she is slowly walk across the street while she is in cell phone. That would cause a momentary of delay, she I just can't believe she didn't aware of it. If those car ahead of me didn't bother to stop, she might be hit. Gosh, people, focus on what you are doing, those cell phone might cause major accident on someone.

hi,
thats sometimes the reason why there are many accidents while on driving, because they are preoccupied at the phone so that they cant focus very well on what they do,even here,i hate those drivers who always handle their phone and make some conversation on it because those are the prone to road accidents.

There are some people I see that I swear are attached to their phones because I never see them when they aren't talking on it. Its too bad that society today can't seem to get along 5 minutes without talking on their cell phones. Everywhere you go, restaurants, grocery stores, driving down the street, etc, etc. people are on their phones. It might as well become another limb! And of course when they are on the phone their concentration is on the person on the other end instead of concentrating on what is going on around them. Thats why there are so many accidents. Years ago we got along just fine without a phone to carry with us. Now look at everyone! Don't get me wrong. I have a cell phone, but I use it sparingly. It is good for emergencies, but I don't feel the need to have it up to my ear to talk about trivial things that can wait for another time.

I totally agree. Talking while walking across the street is just as dangerous as while driving down the road. I keep my phone handy when driving down the road in case my husband, mother or one of my kids should need to call me but if it is anyone I will not answer the phone. I am thankful to have my cell phone in case of emergencies but people need to watch what they are doing at the same time.

It is true that a lot of people are just so preoccupied with talking on their phone, and aren't focusing on what's taking place around them. I don't think that you should be texting while driving, or anything like that. It's distracting and it's very dangerous to the person texting and the people around them. It's just something that I don't understand. I don't understand how people can do this sort of thing.

yes that is really a serious problem and exists in all over the world , people are very busy on road while talking on their phones. They dont see or care for even other commuters , they even dont care about that they are driving or riding and become the cause of accident of themselves and others also.

HUH! that lady, you should have run her over! so that she will learn her lesson on not taking her call to far down the street. that will cause a pile-up if that happen. people nowadays doesnt know how to use their cellphones. we should have a class on cellphone courtesy and right manners!

I am also guilty of the same kind sometimes when situation calls for it, but on emergency cases only, really. Like when one of my family members we rushed to hospital and they need to call me, and I can't help but to take the phone even when I am in the middle of the street. I know I caused delay to others and I really apologized for that. But when I know that at the given time there's nothing really very important matter to attend to, I don't bother to take my cellphone; if it rings I go to certain corner where I cannot disturb anybody and look who's calling or texted, and if don't see any urgency, I don't make any reply at once.

There are lots of accident caused by mobile phones.
Well..it's not mobile phones fault anyway...people who were using their phones and not aware when they are crossing the streets or even driving.
So bad...how people being too careless.

Talking on the phone while driving is dangerous, indeed. I also see a lot of those here. They're running like 50, 60 and they're on the phone. I thought there's already a law about it here but I guess people just won't stop until they get themselves into an accident. I've read a number of news about car crashes due to cellphone usage too. I really hope people become more aware of these situations and that they also have a fair amount of luck compared to these motorists. They should realize that this could also happen to them.

Mobile phones should carry this health warning: 'Please be responsible and alert when using this phone!'
People go off into their own little worlds when they are on these things and completely forget that they are in charge of their own bodies and responsible for the safety of others they come across every day!

That is bad. I had someone also the other day that was behind me in a car talking on their cell and was honking at me because they were not paying attention! That lady your talking about is very lucky that at least some people were paying attention. Cellphones, texting, Internet..universal mind control...lol

a lot of individuals are easily disconnected from reality, it pains me that almost all of us are victims to these kind of things. I've seen couples out on the date with their fingers working their mobile phones and just casually nodding to each other, it is hard to believe that this is norm for our generation.
I wonder what would happen in the future

Phone has become worse nowadays. people are using the phone in the wrong ways. I remember one day my friend lost control when he was driving after he received bad news over the phone that one of her relation had passed on.The car hit a nearby tree and stopped at once. if it were not for that tree we would be talking of another story now.I would like to appreciate the importance of the phone but people should learn to be cautious and careful when using the phones to avoid damages.
