I love dipping my fries in ranch dressing. Ketchup is good too, I only use it if I don't have anything else. Also, if you get sauces from McDonalds for the chicken nuggets, you can use them on fries too. I like the buffalo sauce, honey mustard, and hot mustard. Believe it or not, french fries also taste really good if you pour vinegar on them. It sounds weird, but if you like vinegar, then you'll probably like it on your fries.

Hi courtknee525,
Thanks for responding! :-)
I also love dipping my fries in ranch! :D Ooh, and the sweet and sour sauce from McDonald's is great to dip fries in!
Wow, I have never heard of putting vinegar on fries! That sounds strange... but I suppose it could be good. I may try that one day. :-)

Yeah ranch is one of my favorites.
The vinegar thing is kind of different. I've seen it a lot at fairs and stuff. My mom also said she always used to put vinegar on her fries when she was younger and I think she got it from fairs, I'm not totally sure. Either way, it's really good. I would only recommend doing this if you like vinegar or salt and vinegar chips

Hmm... I do like salt and vinegar chips! :D
The only thing I am concerned about is the vinegar making the fries soggy. :( I like crispy fries. :P However, I'll give it a try anyway! Who knows, I might just love it! :D

I love to dip my fries in gravy -- such as the brown gravy or BBQ gravy that comes with rotisserie chicken. If there is no gravy, then ketchup and salt, sometimes vinegar. I don't eat fries that often so I'll have whatever there is.
Where I live, in Quebec, Canada, we have a popular dish called poutine. It sounds sooooo gross but a lot of people really like it. I can't eat it except maybe once in a VERY long while because I find it really too heavy. Some people call it a "heart attack on a plate" You take very hot fries and top them with a fair amount of white cheese curds. Then, you pour poutine gravy/brown gravy/BBQ gravy over the top and it starts to melt the cheese curds over the fries. There are now specifically poutine restaurants that are making all kinds of variations that include meat and such too.
Here is a link to the website of probably the most popular poutine restaurant in Montreal... http://www.restolabanquise.com/
This is a list of all the different types they sell... amazing :

I'm starting to see poutine in restaurants in other places now... like in the US, when I've traveled... but it's not the same as what we have at home. I think it's because the fries are a little different. Poutine fries here are softer, wider, not so crispy like fast food fries. You are so right, Angelee... it's REALLY unhealthy but fun to have now and again!! Thank you so much for the BR... you are so sweet

I think I had steak fries in the US... and if I remember right, I'd say the poutine fries are about half as wide. They get deep-fried but they stay soft and generally don't get the crispy outside to them.

Wow! Thanks for all of the interesting information.
I have heard of "poutine" before, but I never knew exactly what is was. Now I do. :-)
Honestly, it sounds delicious, but very unhealthy! LOL... I wouldn't mind trying it. :D

i like my french fries crisp. either plainly salted or flavored as long as they are crunchy in every bite. hehe for flavored fries, i like it with barbecue flavor. at home, i'm not into mayo and ketchup. if i don't have barbecue powder, i sprinkle finely grated cheddar cheese on my fries.
when i went to hongkong before, mcdonald's have shaker fries before which are salt & pepper, and seaweeds flavors. i thought the seaweeds flavor is so weird. but when i tasted both, they were great.

yeah, it's more enjoyable that way. if it's a bit soggy already, it doesn't taste as good.

Hi mylesnarvaez,
I also prefer crunchy fries. They are much better when they are crunchy on the outside and soft, "pillow like" on the inside. :D

I don't eat french fries too often but something I learned since I met my boyfriend is that I can eat them with Mayonnaise. MMM they taste like potato salad that way. lol
My daughter likes to use Ranch Dressing with her fries.

Hmm, just mayonnaise?
I have tried mayo and ketchup mixed, but not just mayo.
Doesn't sound bad though, I may try it. Thanks! :D

I like my french fries as it is or barbecue flavored. I like to dip it in mayo with ketchup and a bit of hot sauce. But most of all i like KFC french fries, because you can eat them as it is , so delicious , even without any dipping.

I'll be sure to try them next time I go to KFC. :-)

Yes, try KFC's. You judge for yourself, if what i am telling is true. However, their fries is a bit costlier than others'. But it's worth it, really.

I like dipping them in vanilla ice cream, ketchup, ranch dressing, thousand island dressing, or a mayo+ketchup combo. The dipping them into ice cream grosses my hubby out, I don't know why it's not like he's eating it.
My kids have started liking to dip them in the Sweet and Sour Sauce that you get w/ chicken nuggets.

That's cool too! LOL
Everyone likes things differently. :-)
I prefer some sort of dip though, it makes the fries more creamy and not dry. :D Plus, it adds flavor.

I love french fries. It's definetly one of my favorite foods. I really like to eat them with ketchup and rose sauce. My mom eats them with shoyu souce, but I think that's really weird, she says is wonderful but I never tried. Sometimes, she also eat the fries with runny yolk.

I like to hit my local Steak n' Shake and order a chocolate shake with my french fries. I then procede to dip the french fries into the chocolate shake and eat them. I find the combo of salty and sweet to be extremely delicious. Alternatively, I prefer Arby's curly fries dipped in ketchup or Wendy's new sea salt natural cut fries in ketchup as well.

oh~~ i LOVE french fries, especially from Mcdonalds.
Anyway, if i were to eat french fries at home, i would love to put a lot of Mayonnaise on top of it and of course the chili sauce would make the fries even tastier.
On the other hand, if i were to eat at Mcdonalds, i would dip the whole french fries into my lovely Sundae chocolate. It is so mouth-watering and i just couldn't resist. Haha.
That's my piece of opinion. Have a good day!!! :)

Instead of adding just plain salt to your fries, try sour cream powder or barbecue powder. I also like my fries dipped in sour cream or garlic-mayo sauce.
You can also try, if you are eccentric enough, like what my brother is doing: dipping his fries to vanilla sundae.

I love eating French fries! It's one of my favorite foods. One of the best ways for me to eat it is with ketchup. I also love eating French fries dipped in sour cream. It's so tasty! But my favorite way to eat French fries is through dipping it in gravy. Whenever I'm in a restaurant, I also use gravy which is originally for chicken to be used in my French fries.

In Idaho we have a sauce called Fry sauce. Fry sauce consists of ketchup and mayonaise mixed together. They taste great that way. I also like chili cheese fries, and nacho cheese fries. I like french fries, but since I am trying to lose weight I am trying to cut back on them.

I like the thin, crispy fries (like the ones McDonald's serves) when they're hot with Polynesian (sweet and sour) sauce! Barbecue sauce or ketchup will also work but sweet and sour is my favorite.

I eat my fries salted with cheddar cheese and bacon like once every few months because of how bad it is for me
But regularly i'll just eat it with ketchup. I'm not creative when it comes to fries lol.
